Palmyra Beach Hotel - Glyfada, Athens

We were a couple and got a twin bed room !, breakfast was basic at best for the implied status of the hotel, common places - we would not consider clean - windows, door and door frames, etc. Over all the feeling was that this is a let down experience.

We stayed there for a week , me and my family , we had a great time , the rooms are clean and spacious,with a marvelous sea view, the staff is very helpful and freindly ,the beach is a few steps from hotel the tram stop just a few steps can take to Glyfada's center in a few minutes , and all the way to Athens center or Peraius directly, if ever go back to Athens we will stay there.

Good 3 star hotel but needs to do some work to deserve 4 stars. Chris at reception was great , as was the lady who cleaned our room. Breakfast staff almost sullen at times, even snapping at guests on occasion. Room was not triple. I suspect it was double with pull out chair bed. Would not have been spacious enough if our daughter had been any older. Pool area needs makeover or cleaning at the least. Good location for tram to Athens and beaches. Bad location in that it is on a very very busy main road, very difficult to cross and very noisy if your room is on that side of hotel. Ours was on the side of the building so noise not a problem when windows were closed.

Other than some early morning construction, this was a great place to stay - a quick walk to the beach and another to shopping, restaurants, etc.

I know 4 hotels in Glyfada, at least, and this is one of better.

We stayed at the hotel from 25. to 29 of april 2007. The breakfast was very good. And a quiet garden with bar. But the highway was very busy. We could not use the balcony outside the room. The tram took almost one our to Athen centrum.

Great location, good breakfast. This hotel is on one of the main airport bus routes and across the way from the trams. This allows one to be based a few flip-flop steps from the beach or poolside but a very user-friendly (if slowish) tram commute to central Athens or Pireus. Also good location to catch the bus to Cape Sounion and splendid shops in Glyfada itself. Pay off is that the main road (on landward side) on which the buses run is very busy but this did not bother us in our particular room (with nice view across to Aegina).
