Hotel Periscope - Athens

The Periscope is a small, well-maintained, quiet and clean hotel with a restaurant. excellent location in the Kolonaki area just a 15 minute walk from the Plaka. The Kolonaki area is very up scale and all the restaurants and shops surround the hotel. it is a small hotel, rooms are new and clean. since it is in the middle of a street, some of the rooms face another building 10 feet away. try to get rooms facing the street. I would recommend it for anyone traveling to Athens. i had an early plane and needed a taxi at 4:30am. it was waitng for me. the staff were very helpful. also movies and a computer are free to use.

Wonderful, helpful staff. They recommended restaurants, things to do and when to do them. Very well situated in quiet little street, close to the Lycabettus hill with venicular railway and also the National Garden and Syntagma Square. Cool and quirky place. The most wonderful bed and linen ever. A fantastic webcam dressed like a periscope to look over the rooftops of Athens in the dining room. Couldn't fault the breakfast.The only negative point was the shower water trickling into the washbasin/toilet area. Expensive, but so worth it!

Periscope is a sophisticated,comfortable oasis in the middle of the metropolis of Athens. The staff was very courteous, accomodating and helpful. It is walking distance to the Benaki museum. I would stay there again. Demetria DeLia

Small hotel, e.g. only 3 rooms at 4th floor, therefore quiet. also quiet surrounding what is really rare in Athens. quality of service and competence of employees is excellent. the price is a little expensive. the taxes are not included in the prices on the web site, so add 20% taxes to the price.

Everything was nice. but was a bit disappointed with the space of rooms.

The hotel is very well located in the main fashionable area with great traditional restaurants and walking distance to the main attractions eg Acropolis. The staff were brilliant- a font of local knowledge- advising on some great restaurants etc. Very cool,casual breakfast room- and charming,kind servers.

I stay in the hotel for two nights in a torpedo superior room. A very nice room for two persons. It is not too big, but you will not have problems if you are spending a couple of days. The staff was very kind and the breakfast very good. The internet wifi connection in the rooms was sometimes hard to configure.

Persons at reception were very helpful, polite, welcoming and friendly. Room and service excellent. I'll return as well as recommend to others. Very clean, new, modern, and QUIET!

In the best (maybe the only good) part of athens.rooms are very clean and have nice simple but stylish decoration.breakfast is not so good,but not bad either.10min walk to syntagma.a bit overpriced but the city is overall overpriced for what it offers...

Attention!!! Prices indicated on the Venere site do not incude taxes: it is written on the site but NOT when the total amount to be paid is calculated. Therefore, open you eyes!! P.S.: the Periscope Hotel is wonderful and exactly equal to the pictures!

We had a GREAT stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, even at 3 a.m. when we arrived, and very accommodating. They went out of their way to help with our various inquiries about transportation, museum hours, etc. Our room was upgraded at no extra charge. (The initial room was very small -- it is worth the extra charge for a superior room). Breakfast was bountiful and included in price. The smoke in the small breakfast space was a little unpleasant -- no room available for non-smoking section. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The location in Kolonaki is excellent -- very quiet, central, a 10-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Syntagma and Plaka. Taxis plentiful and a metro station 4 blocks away. Excellent value for a downtown hotel that is so comfortable, friendly, well designed, and pleasant. We LOVED this hotel and would recommend it highly!
