Hotel Reviews Pergamos

I stayed twice at this hotel because I found it to be reasonably priced and the location decent, a short walk from the subway station. I found the internet in the lobby to be very convenient (it had more than one computer, so I didn't have to wait long for other guests to be done), and the staff was friendly.

first stop in pergamos. We hired a triple room. The hotel is clean, the staff is OK, but the area around the hotel and square "Omonia" is extremely dangerous. The returning at night (10-12 p.m.)was a real test for our bravery. Many drug users, prostitutes, criminals and armed police.

Overall I was pleased with the hotel. I only have 2 criticisms. 1. The bed was the most uncomfortable that I have ever slept in (like sleeping on a board), but, if you like hard beds, this is the place for you. 2. The neighborhood was a bit dodgy and I wouldn't recommend it to a female travelling alone (fine in groups though).

My stay here was fantastic! Breakfast was ample, rooms were comfortable. However, people returning to their rooms were noisy;rooms didn't block out noise very well. The area is 5 min. walk to Omonia Sq., the 2nd busiest in Athens. At night there are male and female prostitutes hanging around, but not near the hotel. NOBODY ever bothered me. Would definitely stay here again. Special thanks to the guy behind the desk, Psychie(?) was his name. Competently answered my questions, and his English was great. thanks garrett

If you want to sleep more than just for ten minutes in one piece, DO NOT go there. I never ever had such a noisi hotel, it was incredible. You hear every sound from anywhere, amplified by the echo of the saircase. Be it the elevator, other people, closing or opening doors, neighbours.

Personale molto gentile, hotel non molto distante dal centro della città anche se la zona alla vista non è molto gradevole. Adatta a chi vuol trattenersi ad Atene per qualche giorno

I stayed at Hotel Pergamos for a week and I highly recommend this hotel for budget travellers. The prices are good, the rooms are a nice size and very clean, especially the bathrooms. The maids did a very thorough job of cleaning. The staff at the hotel, especially Stefanos and others at the front desk, were some of the most helpful and accomodating people I've met while travelling. They made me feel at home and assisted me with many details of my trip- they provided 4 star hotel service and thanks to them my whole stay was pleasant. The hotel has been renovated recently and the lobby is quite nice. Very convenient internet connections were available. The shower is small, but most european showers are small. There was some noise in the halls at night from people using the elevator, but it did not affect my sleeping. The neighborhood as others have said before is not a great one. I felt safe there during the day because there were a lot of people around. I did not go out alone after 8:30pm or so, but I think any single female travelling alone in a city should be wary of going out at night alone no matter where she is staying. I did take taxis at night that brought me right to the door of the hotel without a problem. I went out at night with a friend who lives in Athens, and I felt fine walking back to the hotel with him at night. There is always someone at the front desk at all hours of the night. The location is very convenient to the center of Athens and the metro. Everything was so close I walked a lot. The Archaeological Museum is only a few blocks away. There is a very nice little sandwich shop a few doors down owned by Greek Americans if you need fast meals or snacks. My one and only complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable. Other than that I really liked this hotel and would stay there again. You can't beat great service and clean lodging for the price. My cousin stayed there also and she had a good experience as well.

I spent 30EUR/night. I get a quite clean room (for the Greece), a very good bed, free Internet access, a perfectly working bathroom with shower, a decent breakfast and friendly and competent employees in the centre of Athens. Great quality for price.

If you want a well-run hotel with a great value for the money, this is the place. Within walking distance of the Arch. museum; markets; and the Acropolis. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in plotting my course of travel each day. At night, I had the balcony doors open, so there was street noise but otherwise it is a very quiet well run hotel.

OK, so it's cheap and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. But, it is in a pretty grotty part of town - the whole area around Omonia is fairly grim and it's a longer walk to the metro than you might want to make regularly, particularly in the heat of summer. Our room (for 3) was in reality a small room for two with an extra bed, so really very little space, although the bathroom was clean and decent. The room could have done with a picture of two to humanise it. I wouldn't stay again, but if you're on a budget, it might be OK for a night. We actually checked out a day early (after two nights) - not because of the hotel but because, since everything was shut for a public holiday, we chose to get out of Athens. We did not consider staying there on our return to Athens two days later.

I really enjoyed my stay there. My only complaint was the size of the shower. It was so tiny that I ended up flooding my whole room. Other then that, everything else was great and would definitely recommend to my friends.

This hotel provided exactly what we expected for the price. The location was very convinenient for train station and Acropolis...if we leaned really (REALLY!) far out on our window we could even see the latter!

My husband & I were only in Athens for a day. This hotel offered basic amenities, the location was very good - close to metro which was one stop from Akropolis. Staff very helpful and friendly, lovely breakfast, internet access in lobby. Very basic rooms, but satisfactory for a short stay.

This hotel is in THE worst part of athens. We were travelling as a group (3 females) and were told by numerous locals not to go outside our hotel at night in this area as it is so dangerous. The hotel staff were nice and the rooms were basic but clean. We booked a triple room. It was a double room with a fold out bed put at the end of the room. There was hardly any room to put our bags down. The balcony was huge though and the staff were VERY helpful and friendly...

I recommend to stay at Hotel Pergamos. A real good quality vs. price quote. Very good location, 10 minutes walk from the metro station Omonia, very good located in Athens. I stayed 2 times at Hotel Pergamos (before travelling to the Cyclades islands and before flying back home). Booking was for a triple room (3 friends travelling together), the first room we had was really big and with a giant terrasse. My only comment concerns the breakfast that is not so great (specially the orange juice...). Have a nice stay in Athens!!

for the price, this hotel was very nice. A good breakfast was included in the price. Bathrooms were small, but functional, and bed was comfortable. AC worked well. Some noise from hallway, when other guests were loud. Front desk staff were outstandingly helpful, courteous, spoke English well; we didn't ask about other languages. Neighborhood was a bit run-down, but no obvious safety issues. We walked to Central Market and to Monastakiri and Exharia neighborhoods, for great taverna food.

The hotel represented excellent value for money. We stayed for 2 nights. Although the bathroom as a little tight, it as very clean. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Omonia square. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Particularly with info regarding local buses and restaurants. The breakfast was adequate and in keeping with the overall value of the hotel. Would happily stay there again.

The hotel was in an area we didn't feel comfortable in at night, it was not easy to find and the overall feel of the place was a little depressing. The bed creeked loudly with every move and there was noise throughout the night from other rooms. This was a bargain basement hotel. Ok for 1 night if you can't find somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Pergamos end of April early May 2008 and found the front desk staff extremely helpful and accomodating. We have no complaints except the shower was extremely small and water had a tendency to spray all over the floor. Other than this, the rooms were clean and provided us with an enjoyable and inexpensive experience. It was also within a 20 minute walking distance to the Plaka and major metro stations. Free internet access was an added bonus!

we paid for a hotel near the city centre so that we could avoid the hassle of travelling to the various sights as we usually use the public transport.the hotel is well placed for that. the surrounding areas are busy during the day and colourfull at night. we had no problems walking to omonia station even as late as 9pm. there are a few restaurants nearby with fair menu. the rooms are crowded and ours was a double room converted to a triple. it was however on floor 7 and so well above the noice downstairs. there is free internet[which is always occupied] and a fairly well stocked small bar. the bathroom was very crowded and we had a washbasin, shower and toilet in a room 3.5 metres by 1 metre. once you used the shower u had to waddle in a small pool of water to acces the toilet. stefano was helpfull with directions and recomendations. other staff were friendly and warm[ a very greek trait]. i suppose like in any major city one has to compromise between budget and luxury.

It's not in a great area but it is a welcoming small hotel and within reasonable walking distance of all the sights, especially the National Museum. It's on a noisy street and when I was staying there were very noisy guests on my floor, but that's just bad luck and could happen anywhere. Breakfast was very ordinary.

I found there what I was expected to find after I read on Venere.com about this hotel. The staff was kind and friendly. One important thing though, they didn't have parking place. Finding a parking place in Athens is really killing. I paid approximate 15 euro per day for parking. Overall good price/quality ratio.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close proximity to the National Archaeological Museum, but at least a 20 minute walk to Plaka and other neighborhoods near the Acropolis. Room didn’t have a balcony as stated and the elevator was loud and could be heard from our room. The bathroom was clean, but very small. The bed was not very comfortable and the blanket of poor quality. There are two computers with Internet access which was helpful. Overall, the quality is reflected in the price.
