exterior - entrance
The Myrto hotel enjoys an excellent position in Athens, right next to the Acropolis, in a quiet and safe street.
The hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance of the central square of Athens, Syntagma. All major tourist attractions are therefore easy to reach, both on foot and by public transportation. Music, restaurants, beautiful shops and lighted crowded streets surround the hotel.
The main advantage of this Athens accommodation is its location, but it must also be mentioned that this small, family run establishment offers cozy rooms and a sense of homely comfort that is difficult to find in enormous hotel buildings.
The Myrto hotel offers a restaurant service for lunch and dinner and free wireless Internet access throughout the building.

Very nice hotel, friendly atmosphere. The staff very flexible, they adjusted the breakfast hours to our needs.

We recently had a wonderful trip to Greece which was enhanced by our stay at the Myrto Hotel. It is very well located - within walking distance of almost everything you wish to see in Athens. The staff were most welcoming. We initially booked for 2 nights but ended up spending 10 days at the hotel with short breaks away doing small tours. When we arrived at 3 am we were met at the door and helped with our luggage up to the room. We were able to leave excess luggage at the hotel while we did our short trips. The rooms were certainly not 5 star but for a 2 star hotel were excellent. Breakfast was included with some home cooking. The staff couldnt have been more pleasant or helpful. During our stay we were in 3 different rooms. The two on the lower floors were very spacious. The room on the 6th floor had a terrace and views but the room, while adequate, was not spacious. We would highly recommend this hotel. It was excellent value for money.

The comments on the website were accurate - they had commented on the relatively small rooms but mentioned the helpfulness of staff, the good location and the good breakfasts. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Room, staff, location and breakfast(included) were excellent. Staff were all very helpful with advice on tourism, transport to airport (saving us an expensive taxi by explaining location of airport X25 express bus) - and allowing early breakfast on our last day. The lift is tiny, but saves carrying cases upstairs! Location is good with easy walk into Plaka for sightseeing, shopping, or eating. Close to Sygmata Square, and walking to Acropolis and several of the minor archaeological sites (Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Zeus). The room was much larger than exepected for the price and location. 24 hour reception was good for our early arrival and early departure. Free internet (although we didn't use it here), but helpful staff looked up a couple of items for us about closing times. Local Tip - Don't miss the NEW Acropolis museum which opened July09(for 1EURO), but still go to the OLD Archaeological Museum in town (which stays open until late)!

I felt very welcome in this hotel. Nearby everything, metro line close by. Bathroom clean. The only drawback was that the free wireless internet did not get as far as my room, but I could sit somewhere else in the property. In contrast, breakfast was great for such a rate and the staff was very helpful to print my on-line check-in ticket.

We reached hotel late in around 1 am, reception waited for us with warm welcome. Tripe room is clean and with enough space, we enjoyed a big balcony. Location is convenient, just few minutes from bus terminal. Breakfast is delicious.

Everything ok. The employees, the breakfast, the bed. The only thing about we could complain the bathroom, that had a bizarre smell, but in general everything correct. The quality-price relation: excellent and the ubication too.

We stayed for 3 nights in September 2009 in the family room on the fourth floor. While the room was spacious it is in in urgent need of redecorating and the bathroom in need of modernisation and repair. We glimpsed other rooms in passing and they seem to be renovated while this one is sill on the "To Do" list. The manager is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are cleaned and linen is changed daily.

This hotel was really bad value for money. was far too expensive for the quality. The rooms were extremely old and in bad condition. dubious air con. The bathroom paint was peeling and the shower curtain disgusting. great location and good breakfast.very friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed one night while waiting for a flight and I was really impressed with the services offered. Free wifi and breakfast included in the price. Great range of food for breakfast. Most hotels charge you €10 nowadays for a coffee and croissant!! Best value for money ever.

I went with 2 friends last month (august) for a weekend and we really enjoyed it. All staff was very nice with us. Location is perfect to visit Athens, only 2 minutes from Syntagma square where it's the tube and also shuttle bus that connects airport with the city centre. We definately recommend Myrto hotel!

Hotel in posizione strategica e gestito dall'incredibile Ilias, persona squisita e super disponibile.

The Myrto has an excellent location close to the Plaka district and important communications. The room was alright for one night, simple but clean. The simple room standard was to us largely compensated for by the friendliness and service - mindedness of the owner and staff(service including running after us all the way to the Syntagma square airport bus with forgotten sunglases). The breakfast was also great!

Simple, but nice and clean hotel. Excellent location for visiting historical Athens – you can do it walking and you feel safe even at night. The street for a car is very narrow – but you can get a parking for 15 Euro per day just around the corner – the staff helped me to get there, which was not easy. Excellent breakfast.
USA, Jun 2009
Hotel Myrto was a great location for our visit in Athens. The hotel manager, Ilias, was extremely kind and helpful. We arrived in Athens late at night and he picked us up at the airport himself so that we would not have to pay the double taxi fare. The rooms were fine, nothing extraordinary but the location. Breakfast was superb, enough to eat to get you through to dinner. If I go back to Athens I would stay here again. You can't beat the price nor the kindess of the owner.

The two men in charge were extremely helpful and accomodating. We were able to add an extra person at the last minute, and they helped us deal with several extraneous issues that we had while there. In addition, we enjoyed the best buffet breakfasts of our entire 6 weeks in Europe! The young man who prepares it is a bona fide chef! The location is excellent and from one corner of our large balcony, we were able to see the Acropolis. There is a direct bus to and from the airport from Syntagma Square nearby, so don't get caught paying an exhorbitant price for a taxi!

I can't give 100% for cleanliness because there was mould in the bathroom. The window looked out on the building next door - right next door. There was no deadbolt lock on the door. However the room was a good size and the staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the city. If you are looking for a good location you can't beat the Hotel Myrto for a price vs quality relationship. It really is in the middle of everywhere you want to be.

I would like to compliment the manager, Elias, on the excellent service he and his co-worker provided. I would stay at this hotel just so I could partake of the excellent breakfast. The room was spacious and quiet for being right in the center of Athens. The location was excellent. We walked to the sites and were able to walk to the bus stop to take the bus to the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. Although the decor could have done with renovating, the room was clean and had good amenities. It was very handy for the acropolis, it was great to be able to walk down quiet streets to get there and stay away from the general hustle and bustle of Athens. The staff were very friendly and welcoming at breakfast time. In all, I thought it was great value for such a central location.

The room was big but the window was not closing properly, so the noise from the street was quite high.We didn`t get hot water for the shower in the morning. The breakfast was very simple, not a lot of selection. The staff was quite friendly. Not a nice hotel, i will not recommend it. Too expensive for poor quality.

The Myrto is located in the best part of Athens (I mean, if you are travelling on turistic reasons). The building is very old, and the room is not very confortable, but I would recomend it if you are interested in spending the hole day in the turistc sites, walking around. There is not much confort, but again, it really didn't matter because we were very well treated, the employees are very nice and helpfull, i would totaly come back there.

the hotel was horrible. It is the worst hotel that I have been stayed and the most expensive hotel in relation to the services available. The toilet were dirty. The shower without hot water. The wall on the room with some insects. The carpet on the floor broken. The breakfast without hot milk neither coffee express or filter. There is not greek yogurth, omelettes or different kind of cheese as information said in this web. I went to Florence last year and I also booked my hotel with venere.com but this time It was a disaster. The room in Greek was more expensive that in Florence!! and horrible. I took the realistic fotopraphs (I think you have to see the toilett)that I would like to send to you but now I dont have it yet.

Price/Value is unbeatable! Situated in a safe area with a lot of small shops around the hotel and within walking distance to most of the sightseeing areas of Athens. Even the Akropolis could be visited without using the metro (which is also very close to the hotel). Breakfast is for a 2-star South European hotel simply brilliant.

This hotel if nothing else is clean. The decore does need a revamp but i really enjoyed my stay here. It is situated right in the heart of Athens next to the main attractions. The staff were great and gave us a warm welcome. Over all cheap and cheefull!
