Hotel is ok and Plaka, Psiri and Akropolis is really nearby (by metro and also by walk), surrounding are quite dirty but only some streets away it becomes good. Overall a good place for short trips to Athens

The hotel absolutely met my standard and the interaction with staff was highly satisfactory. I guess no visitor would like the hotel surroundings, but at the same time the quality of services, price and location are great.

Very good place, although in a bad area. better to avoid periods when groups of young people come to the hotel if you want to sleep !

We stay one week in this hotel...really convenient, near a metro station (150m) and easy to reach dowtown on foot. Good breakfeast and nice staff. A good address for all kind of travellers. One reservation : the surrondings of the hotel is not pleasant especially for an alone woman!!

King Jason is a good hotel, with good and clean rooms and centrally located. However the hotel surroundings are not nice, and although nothing happened to us, you feel kind of unsafe walking down the hotel street.

For overall, I can say it is ok. Not far away from the Underground. Surroundings are not so good, quite dark on the street in the evening, can smell urine on the street. But there is a very nice restaurant called ALERIA nearby. Prices are not cheap but worth to try.

Nice, functional hotel that was a good base from which to explore Athens. Omonia is not the nicest of areas though.

The room was clean and nice - as expected. Four beds on a row - ok....but not much room for luggage... excellent breakfast. We can absolutely recommend this hotel!

Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt bei diesem Hotel. Für einen Aufenthalt in Athen ideal gelegen (Nähe Metro, Bus usw.) Einzig das Zimmer; vorallem das Badezimmer war nicht sauber!

This is not a four star hotel in terms of being a "good" hotel. It does offer all of the services written in the description, but what the description does not tell you is that the hotel is the only decent building within a five block radius of a very dangerous, dirty, and run-down area. This hotel is one stop past the worst area in Athens. My wife and I were greeted by no less than two hookers as we left the metro station closest the hotel. The directions on the Venere web page on how to get to the hotel were non-existant and we had to find it ourselves. I felt extremely uncomfortable lugging two suitcases through that very dark neighborhood the 3 blocks from the metro to the hotel. Our room was no bigger than the bed almost, with no room to open our suitcases on the floor. The coffin-sized shower in our room leaked water all over the floor (which was apparently the intent) because there was no enclosure, only a curtain and a drain right next to the toilet. We stayed one night in that room, and changed rooms the next day (didn't have the time to change to another hotel in a better location). If you are a budget traveller and don't care about where you stay, then the KJ hotel would be fine. If you are going with a family and/or intend to walk to and from the hotel to the metro or other locations in Athens after dark, then I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel. I will say very positively that the manager was very accommodating in giving us a new, bigger room with a bathtub straight away and the continental breakfast was pretty good, standard fare for hotels.

Stayed at the King Jason for three nights in mid June, and found it to be a perfect base for visiting Athens. The hotel is reasonably centrally located, and our room was clean and large, as was the ensuite bathroom. The reception staff were not overly friendly, but did provide all the assistance we required in a competent and professional manner. The dining room staff were friendlier, and ensured that the breakfast supplies were always topped up. Overall, I found the King Jason to be a reasonably priced clean and comfortable hotel.

We requested a view of the Acropolis which was made avaliable. The hotel is as represented and is in an excellent location to walk to shopping, the metro and sites. Our stay was in June of 2004 and we experienced a lot of "Olympics construction" in the area. The area is older and in disrepair but I felt safe and comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Great hotel. Extremely clean. Looked like new rooms. Mini bar was nice. Personnel were most helpful in every way, from hotel services to booking a rental car. Breakfast buffet was great. Not too far from subway. I would stay there again.

Nice hotel with nice stuff. Very clean with a good confort price ratio. But: The small road just in front of the hotel is extremly noisy (we were on 6th floor). If you can sleep with closed windows an Clim. this should not be a problem, if not .. 8-/

Very good hotel by itself. Very friendly and very competent personal! But really poor surroundigs makes that a person could feel himself/herself quite uncomfortable within his/her walk to the hotel at the night time.

Noise from corridor due to group of young students. Noise from street due to road work for one night; acceptable with closed windows and quiet aircondition. Neighborhood rather rundown. Maybe better after completion of many road works.

Nice big rooms, really clean, large bathroom too. Nice bar, nice breakfast, really pleased! Unfortunately it's not in the greatest area, but the hotel itself was great, especially for the price.

A very clean and nice hotel in the center of the city at very affordable prices. Our room even had a partial view of the Parthenon. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfast aswell. Even a limited amount of free parking. Not the nicest street that it's on, but the proximity to the "sites" and shopping makes up for it. I would definetly recommend this hotel.
