We were not treated well by the desk staff. They sneered at our few requests and were not very accommodating. This property could be run better and be more fun for it's guests. The bathrooms are ridiculously small. I was quoted they would not charge my card until arrival only to find out they charged my card within 24 hours of making the reservation. That upset me. The location and breakfast are wonderful.

Noisy party of students booked in with little attempt made to deal with the disruption hence missed out on a night's sleep. Raised the issue a number of times with staff but little action taken to deal with the noise. Hotel should not book in large student groups adjacent to single occupants. Also hotel charged for every possible additional service including use of room safes which was not appropriate.

Wonderful hotel with clean comfortable rooms (ours was #318, with a Parthenon view), beautiful marble bathroom, bountiful breakfasts included. The bar area and the adjecent sunroom-lounge area were very handsome. The staff were very helpful. The location was very quiet and yet nearby the Acropolis and the Plaka and the metro. They provide laptop computers in the lobby (2 Euros per 1/2 hour with internet access). Our only problem was that upon arrival, we had no "voucher" from "Meridian Travel" to present to them. Our copies of the paperwork from Venere however did the trick. Also, nearby , at 25 Rovertou Gali is the Strofi Cafe. Don't miss it. A glorious roof top restaurant with great food and the best Parthenon view !

The double room was very small and looked out onto a noisy school playground. The buffet breakfast was good rather than outstanding but I could not fault the service. The location of the hotel was excellent, close to the Metro line and within easy walking distance of the Acropolis and the Plaka ( Old Town ) It is time that hotels provided FREE access to the internet for their residents - having to pay to access emails is not acceptable in this day and age. Overall good value for money.

Very nice hotel, very short walk from the Acropolis. Only complaint: they charged my credit card when I was intending to pay in cash and even informed them that I would pay in cash and they did not provide a receipt with the amount charged. A little questionable, but overall, had a good stay.

the best thing about the Herodion is the location. Our room did not have a proper window and opened instead onto an air shaft; also the lock on the "window" was broken. The second night we moved to a room with a real window. However, the hotel was confused about the move and also gave a key to our new room to another man who entered the room!! The first night the hotel was also full of a group of very rowdy and noisy American kids. Noise is also a problem because the hotel backs up onto a school. On check out, we were not given any receipt or paper of any kind. But later the hotel sent us a letter saying they were charging us an extra 24 euros for "mini bar" usage; we had never used the mini bar, however. When I complained, the hotel retracted the extra charge.
