Hotel Glaros - Piraeus, Athens

We stayed on the 5th floor in a twin room with sea view. The room was clean and tidy and all accessories were working. Shower was nice and hot and powerful. The room was cleaned daily and towels were changed daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Tina on reception who is always welcoming and always remebers your name on each visit. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is after a city break as it is close to port, harbour, and public transport.

We have stayed at the Glaros 18 times and never had a problem. The lady on reception is always welcoming and friendly and always makes a point of remembering who you are. I would recommend this hotel for short stays in Athens as it is located centrally for all transport and sightseeing. Just returned from another fabulous stay.

The hotel is very good for the price, but it is very noisy. The direction by the hotel can be misleading. If you're taking the express bus from Athens airport then get off at Port Pireaus. Remember to walk to Gate 10 then you will see a church (after gate 10)at the traffic lights. Walk toward the church and you will come up to a fork (street branches out), the hotel is on the left "branch". This hotel is in good location to take a subway to downtown Athens or taking a ferry to the islands.

The service at the front desk can be improved upon especially the nite desk.

Good value in the nearby of Pireas port.

Good location for access to the port, 10 min walk to catch an early morning ferry, good if you want somewhere cheaper than plaka, easy to catch a tube to central athens. Area is seedy with a stripper club across the street which we could see from the balcony. Fridge door was broken but still worked. Overall, cheap and cheerful, fine if you're not fussy.

We had a good time at Glaros. Staff is welcoming. Close to the port of Pireaus. Rooms are good size and very clean. For price the we paid...we were very happy.

The location was excelent but the hotel was so basic, the room smelled and was very small, the breakfast was less then basic and too much expensive (6 euros)?!?! We'll never stay there again

The rooms are clean and comfortable, but you can hear neighbors and people in the lobby (especially if they are watching a football match). Perfect location for ferry stops. You can leave your backpack at the reception if you are going to the islands for a couple of days. Free internet is a bonus.

The man at the reception was very helpfull and gentle giving has map and direction to the restourant area and for Pireo direction for the day after. Is the perfect place if you want to leave from the Pireo port in the moorning .

It is alright to stay there because it is reasonablly priced and to get to Athens is only a train ride away, but you can hear all nosie from other rooms and the streets.

I booked the Hotel Glaros at the last minute as my accomodation in Athens was horrendous. I found the hotel after asking directions but was only 20 metres away. The hotel was clean and friendly, offering help where they could. I walked from the port of Pireaus to the hotel which took about 20 mins. It is ideally set if going to one of the islands and to catch the train to Athens was not a problem and cost .70 euro each way. The stop for Acropolis is on the direct line to Athens. The train to the airport is also easy to access with only one change.

Well located, close to harbour, price/service relationship ok, but it's cheap, so don't expect that much. For one night is perfect, if you want to get an early ferry to the islands. Bit noise at night, one can hear neighbours tv.
