I was travelling with my Mum so wanted a central location. The hotel is just off Syntagma Square so I had been a bit concerned this would make it noisy as central Athens is always busy but it was fine. Rooms were spotless and the staff were really helpful and friendly. I know Athens quite well and this was one of the best hotels I've stayed in.

Nice property with a great location. This was our 3rd stay here and we will return again in the future. Clean well presented property, professional staff and a very nice breakfast is included.

At our arrival, the officer at the reception has tried to argue that the rooms, booked months in advance, were not available; trying to send us to another hotel in a different area of the city. Fortunately the incident was resolved with a lively discussion and after a short wait.

A nice hotel in the very center of Athens.

We visited this hotel due to the excellent feedback on Venere. Although the hotel is in a superb location, and good value for money, unfortunately the staff made a mistake with our booking which spoiled our stay. I wouldn't let this put anyone off though.

This is the perfect location for the hotel if you want to shop, eat great and within walking distance to centre, metro and roof top dinners staring up at the acropolis!!! Staff was excellant as we had to check out at 5am and they had breakfast fready for us before we left. Bell staff immediately took our bags up to our room and check in was at 9am when it was supposed to be after 11am. Excellant service and quality. This hotel is definitely a 4 star hotel!!

Great central Plaka location. Helpful Staff. Nice breakfast. Our second stay at this property and we'll return in the future.

Very noisey - I could hear the people in the room next door having a shower late at night and people talking in the corridor sounded very loud. The location was good but the room was very small and the decor did not match the photos on the website - I've stayed in nicer looking travel lodges. Also had a an awful view of another wall of the hotel. Location was good, and most of the staff were helpful and welcoming but I do not think the price refelected the accomodation or facilities.

The location could not be better. It is central to everything - shopping, dining, Acropolis and other tourist sites, subway to the airport or the port (literally 1 block away), etc. The room is not huge but bigger than Paris or London rooms so if you have stayed in those cities you would find the room spacious in comparison. The bathroom is also small and you have to almost step in the toilet to open or close the door but it is very clean and modern and again I have seen smaller in other European cities, so really it is 'above average' by European standards (unless you really want to pay a premium rate for an expensive hotel). The service was good and staff were friendly and the rooms we had were in the 'middle' of the hotel (neither facing the street nor the alley) so they were absolutely dead silent which is awesome given the hotel is right in the thick of things. The breakfast buffet was quite extensive (included) and the service in the buffet room was excellent. The hotel is very basic in that there are not a lot of amenities but if you just want a comfortable, quiet place to sleep in a modern hotel in an awesome location and a decent breakfast included, this is the place! I would stay there again.

The rooms were fab! and the location was great... near shopping and sights. My friends wanted to stay somewhere nice and this definitely fit the bill. A bit to pricey for my taste. Overall, great rooms and location.

Room was small, only one ceiling window.. but staff were great-- accommodating and eager to assist for directions, etc. Rather "gruff" and almost unpleasant when I first checked in, but warmed up after the days went on!

Excellent location for tourists to Athens with a short walk to Plaka restaurants and the Acropolis. First timers but we would be rebooking Electra for our return trips.

the reason we chose the electra was proximity to sindagma station and monastiraki price was more than we wanted to pay but at least everything was done to make us feel welcome and staff were polite and helpful at all times We had 2 rooms 1 for my 2 teenage children and 1 for my wife and I so the 4 nights we stayed cost us dearly. on the same holiday my son and i had travelled from the islands to athens to watch the soccer and stayed in ommonia (3 times) and found it to be dirty and sleazy so the electra has much nicer surroundings for the females nice shops etc and much cleaner

We had a great stay in this very chic hotel in the center of Athens. Very clean, spacious room with bathroom, quiet and nice. We had a great walks in the surroundings, very good connections by subway or bus to Acropol, Museums, Pireus and Airport. Breakfast is just gorgeous with fresh orange jus and choise of everything you need to have a good start of the day. Of course recomended.

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel, located on a pedestrian street in Athens near Syntagma Square. Upon check in, were were told that the only room available had 2 twin beds. We were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary here. I indicated this on our reservation. They congratulated us, but I had to ask about changing rooms so we didn't have to sleep in seperate beds on our anniversary. Instead, the front desk manager told our front desk clerk to upgrade us to a suite on the top floor. IT WAS FANTASTIC! We were however told that we would move to a standard double room the next day. The suite had a very large balcony overlooking the pedestrian street below with views to Syntagma Square and the Parliment Building. It was quiet, lovely, and we had a beautiful and modern sitting area with french doors that opened to a large bedroom. The bath was small but nice with toilet, bidet, jacuzzi tub and shower and nice sink. The next day, we packed and left our luggage in the sitting room so the hotel could move us while we were out touring the sites of Athens. Upon our return later in the afternoon, we were told they did not move us and we were keeping the suite. The breakfast area is nice and had a super nice breakfast with fresh juices, coffee anyway you like it, hot items like scrambled or fried eggs, bacon and sausage, cereals, breads and the like. Really, the hotel is nice and you can't beat the location. The fact that we lucked out with a suite upgrade really set it apart. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our 8 country, 2 month vacation, but it was worth it!

The bathroom was so small that I couldn't close the door when I was in. I couldn't open the window, in spite of the warm temperature of the room, because of the terrible view, noise and smog. The good thing was the location.

While the room was a nice size and very clean, the bathroom was very tiny! If you turned around too fast you could run yourself over! The room was overwarm when we arrived, and the air conditioning was less than effective. Thank heavens the outside temps were comfortable. The personnel were very nice. The breakfast buffet was good, although the fried eggs tended to be cool. The convenience of the hotel to the various sites of Athens was perfect. While we enjoyed our stay very much, the rooms were a bit more expensive than I felt they should have been.
How to reach Hotel Electra
By airplane
The Athens' Eleftherios Venizelos domestic and international airport lies approximately 35 km away from the hotel. The airport is well connected to the city's centre by an express bus service and an underground line. The nearest underground station is in Syntagma square, about 200 metres away from the hotel. Buses and taxis can be easily found at the airport bus station.
Upon leaving the airport, take the Attiki Odos highway (pay toll) and follow the sign to Katehaki avenue. Take the K2E exit to the elevated road. From here, take the 16K exit, which leads to the route named Ymittos ring for Katehaki avenue. Follow this road straight until exit Y1 for Katehaki and Messogeion avenue. Turn left onto Messogion avenue and go straight following the indications to Vas. Sofias. When in Vas. Sofias avenue drive straight for about 1 km until you reach Syntagma square. The hotel is located 150 metres from the square.
By boat
The property lies about 10 km away from the port of Piraeus and is best reached by taxi in about twenty minutes.
On leaving the harbour, take Akti Miaouli street and turn right onto Vas. Georgiou avenue. After 200 metres turn left onto Iroon Politehniou avenue, which leads to Possidonos avenue and
then to Syngrou avenue. At the end of Syngrou avenue, turn left onto Syntagma square.
