Très bien situé, bon rapport qualité-prix, personne sympa et compétent, bonne entrée en matière pour Athènes. Seul bémol, le bruit de la circulation dans la rue.

The hotel is located in a very seedy area of Athens. We routinely witnessed drug use on the street outside the hotel, and it was unusual to walk out the door without being approached by aggressive beggars. The hotel is located on a busy street and it is almost impossible to get a good night's sleep with the non-stop flow of vehicle traffic and car horns. I would say the hotel is poorly insulated. Also, the hotel key serves as a magnet that activates the electricity, so it was impossible to charge our cameras or phones while away from the room. We stayed at a hotel in Plaka for EU80 our first weekend, and then at the Odeon for the second weekend at EU70, hoping to save money. However, the taxi from the airport was more expensive to the Odeon, and more public transportation was required to move about town. In the end, it cost us more to stay at the Odeon than at the nicer hotel in Plaka. We are not naive travelers - we know how some European hotels can be. Still, the Odeon just wasn't a good hotel.

First of all I would not stay at this hotel again. We stayed here for 2 nights. As stated by others, the area is very bad. The hotel is also not 300 m from subway. One spot on the website says 300 m = 1.2 miles, which is unequal. I would say the 1 mile is more correct. Long walk at night through a bad area. We had a triple room and with the 3 beds, there was barely any room to walk around the beds. The room had been refurbished recently and the floor was as shown in the pictures - fake hardwood. The rest of the furniture was old and outdated. Bathroom was clean and new, however, there was no tub or shower curtain, so when taking a shower water went everywhere. THe first night we were there, air conditioning did not work Asked desk clerk to come up and adjust. He came up played with it for a few minutes, and said it would be cool in 15 min or so. Never worked the whole night - never came on. We burned up the whole night, and this was May. When I complained the next morning, they said they would look at it. I requested that we be moved to another room, if it was not fixed. Returned later that night - still not working. Luckily, a friend was able to come to our room and fix it for us. Hotel staff was unconcerned and unhelpful. Also, said there were computers and internet available. No such thing. I also told them on the day before that we would need to leave the hotel at 6 AM for our ferry, and asked for a credit for breakfast ( as I had been told we would be able to get), and also asked for credit for airconditioning not working first night. Clerk was unhelpful, said manager should have left him a note about it and would not give us any credit. I had a reservation for one more night for the end of our trip when we would return to Athens. I told him then to cancel that reservation as we would not be returning to this hotel, under the circumstances. Clerk refused to cancel the reservation for me, even though it was more than a week in advance.

Poor hotel surroundings. Close to centre. Acceptable parking place. Good economy class hotel for one night stay.

The reception was very welcoming and very accommodating. I didnt like the city at all and the people but the staff at Hotel Odeon made my perception of Athens a lot better. You couldnt have asked for a better staff. If there was a strike (like when I went), its not in the centre but its walking distance (if you like walking) to the main area (syntagma square). Keep in mind that the taxi to the hotel from the bus stop (parliament) will not cost you more than 10euros. Be aware of taxi drivers! The hotel is actually on the good side of this area so dont be put off by what others have said. I'd recommend this hotel, the staff will help you like there's no tomorrow.

Very nice hotel, very good and friendly staff willing to give you all necessary information you need. They assisted me with WiFi internet connection to the bar lounge. The manager of the hotel also is very welcoming and helpful to everything I asked for.The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the metro as welll as Acropolis and Plaka! I had the chance to have a 7th floor room with very nice view. For this price it's an excellent choise and I certainly recommend it! I will come back again soon.

I think that a "budget" traveler who is not concerned about the comfort of the hotel will make out best. The location is central and convenient. Do not choose this hotel if you are looking for comfort or ambiance. The advantages are location and price.

My first weekend stay I was allocated a small room near the elevators, which are a bit noisy! The room was quite small, but adequate and clean and I thought good value for money,60euros single occ pnt. I returned the following weekend, and upon request was given a larger room overlooking the main avenue at the front, away from the elevators. Good friendly service, assisted me with WiFi internet connection to my laptop in bar lounge. Streets in the area very shabby and far from litter free, due to Eastern European immigration influence - but great location. Only 5 minutes walk from Omonia Square. Didn't feel threatened at all walking around. Not walking distance to tourist sights from hotel, but taxis very cheap. I would stay there again.

Ruhiges Hotel, relativ nahe der City (15 - 20 Min. Fussweg), etwas zwielichtige Umgebung.

The worst hotel I stayed during my 3-week holiday. On the right side, there is a sqaure famous for being a gathering place of thieves and hooks. On the left side, many noisy and dirty small stores. The air-condition machine in the room is very very noisy. And there are noises from some outdoor machines of the hotel at night. The breakfast food is not fresh at all. Some sauce must have been put there for several months. Milk is diluted by water. The 2 lifts are funny sometimes. I don't understand how it could be rated as a 3-star hotel. As to venere's information, I have to point out that the location map is not clear by showing the monument instead of the nearest metro station. Unfortunately, there is a metro station with the same name. I walked for nearly 20 minutes to get the hotel under hot sunshine with my heavy luggage. (The taxi drivers in Athens are terrible! They just refuse you if it's a short drive.)

On the web pages it says that the hotel has internet, but it doesn't and it never had. The location at the map ist wrong, the hotel is about 500m nearer to the center. To visit the many sites of Athens the location of the hotel ist perfect. The street outside ist noisy, but I guess thats the same in every hotel in the center of Athen. Breakfast was ok.

the hotel is very close to Psiri, where you can find lots of nice restaurants and pubs. It is not far to the centre and it is possible to walk back late in the night. At a first view, you could think the area is not safe, but we didn't have any problems. the hotel is clean and the staff very flexible and polite. breakfast was very good (bread, jam, honey, yoghurt but also ham, olive and cheese). Our room was very clean, in particular the bathroom. We have a pleasant stay in this hotel. I high recommend to book a room here, if you are young and you desire to spend all the night in a pub in Psiri. It takes just 10 minutes walking.

We spent just one night in Athens. This hotel provides a satisfactory relationship price/quality, very near to the centre of Athens, ideal for those who needs a place to stay but maybe not so comfortable for longer stay.

Unfortunately this was the only accomodation in Europe we were really unhappy with. The room wasnt very clean, it had a terrible smell and the area was very rough. We didnt at all feel safe at night. We booked cab for the morning and the staff were extremely unhelpful and really didnt care whether it arrived or not. Would not recommed this place at all.

I really had a wonderful time staying at the Athens Odeon Hotel. The staff was very helpful and kind, willing to give you the info you needed about the city. I believe it was pure luck that I got a room on the seventh floor and I could even see the Acropolis from my balcony. In terms of transportation it was so convenient, because the metro was only five minutes walk from the hotel. I strongly recommend this hotel for its location and reasonable price. It’s certainly the best choice.

My partner and i arrived at seperate times - she at 6pm and me, due to airport delays, at 1.30am. We checked out the next morning at 6.30am. We missed out on breakfast that was served from 7.30am, however were not offered any form of a discount rate, considering the stay for one of us was only 4hrs. The area was considerably unsafe for my partner to walk alone, so beware. The shower hose had to be held as the 'holder' was arm was not working and the airconditioning, although on, was very noisy and didn't seem to cool the room. Apart from this, the manager was extremely helpful to my partner on her arrival before me and went out of his way to assist her in all her requests.

If the hotel had been priced at 75 Euros for each night then it would have rated as excellent as value for money. However as the price tripled for the Tues and Wed night due to the Champions League final,it certainly was not value for money.I would howevere recommend this hotel for budget traveller's who stay there at any other time of the year!

The Athens Odeon is located very central. You can reach the sights of antique Athens by a 10-15 minute walk. Our room was small but clean and really quiet, with air-condition. The breakfast could have been better.

the room was a lot smaller then the photos on the website showed the tv was smaller and did not offer everything that was on the website the hotel staff was very nice and quit helpfull I did not like having to pay a charge for leaving a day early even after telling the front desk that we had a change of plans more then 24 hours before leaving

This was the only hotel we could get at a moment's notice for Athens last week. It was in a pretty grimy neighborhood and the carpets on the hotel floors had some very unattractive stains on them. Our room was clean, the linens were clean as well, the bathroom adequate (shower head was not affixed to the wall, however.) But the breakfast was quite lacking and the hotel was not a pleasant place to stay. It will do if you need a place to stay badly, but it was not a place you would choose to spend time unless you had to.

I was slightly worried about this Hotel due to the reviews saying that it was in a bad area. Well yes the area does have some dodgy characters but overall not that bad at all. The hotel is situated next to a government building so there was always a police officer outside which made us feel even better and the best thing about Athens is that it is all walkable as everything is not too far away. The metro is excellant so no taxi's were needed and people are very friendly if you get lost. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and very accomodating. Rooms were basic but very clean and beds were good!! For the price we got i was very happy with everything and highly recommend this hotel to anyone, the breakfast was also a surprise as good - definitely a keeper for me if i ever go back :)

Very reasonable price for decent accomodation. Not the best area (just in front of a sort of suk) but easy to reach and walking distance to anyway in the center. Beware only it is largely used by schools on holidays ... and teens are not quiet at nigh in these occasions

The Odeon provided excellent quality for the price. Rooms were newly refurbished, very modern and clean. We were lucky enough to have been given a room on the top floor and could even see the Acropolis from our balcony!!! The location of the hotel is a 10-15 min walk to the plaka area. The area around the hotel is a little rough so use common sense when returning late at night. The Underground is only a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was included and consisted of cereals breads + jam, juice, tea coffee cold meats, cheese. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay their again.
