Hotel Athens Electra Palace - Athens
18 - 20 N Nikodimou Street - Athens
877-662-6988The property has been recently totally reconstructed and refurbished, and the building's facade changed completely to a new classical-style. Outfitted with the most contemporary equipment, the hotel offers oustanding services and facilities which include luxurious accommodations, the Motivo restaurant, the Duck Tail bar with its beautiful garden, a wellness area, an underground parking and a modern business centre.
Its unique position under the shadow of the Acropolis hill and just a three minutes' stroll from Syntagma square and the Greek Parliament, makes it the ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Was upgraded to a Junior Suite - was very pleased with this hotel. It may be a little pricey, but with Athens economy at this time, it was perfect- close to Acroplis...

Was upgraded to a Junior Suite - was very pleased with this hotel. It may be a little pricey, but with Athens economy at this time, it was perfect- close to Acroplis and had shopping and restaurants within a 2 minute walk. Hotel bar and restaurant was fabulous, the view was perfect, and pool was perfect after a hot day.

Great buffet breakfast and view from the roof-top pool. Shame the pool was too cold to swim in!

We had an excellent stay at the Electra Palace. Breakfast in the garden each morning was a perfect way to start the day. We were sorry that we only tried to roof top restaurant for drinks on the final night after packing but Athens has so much to offer that we hate to limit ourselves to one place. The location was perfect. We're walkers so walking to all the major sights was always a treat anad a great way to burn some the extra calories we consumed. My only disappointment was the beds. The waterproof mattress pad made sleeping very uncomforable; it felt more institutional than luxury hotel.

This hotel lives up to its 5 stars. Location is perfect - walking distance to most major attractions, shopping areas and a variety of restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When checking in, we were upgraded from a superior room to a junior suite. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection which we enjoyed. Upon returning late one evening -- a half hour before the restaurant closed -- the staff in the restaurant were pleasant and willingly offered to prepare our dinner even though it meant they had to stay beyond closing time. Our room was quiet and clean. The only negative during our entire stay was the glass shower door would not stay open and had to be wedged to keep it in the right position. We would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again upon our return to Athens.

Walls are a little thin between rooms (we heard our neighbors get into a fight at 7am). food's very nice. service isn't all that friendly at the upstairs bar/restaurant, especially if you just want a drink. but otherwise, lovely.

First time in Greece and were traveling with friends. We stayed 3 nights post cruise at the end of a 2 week vacation. The location is excellent for what we wanted. The views of the Acropolis were great. The courtyard is a very nice place for a cocktail in the evening. The rooftop pool area has spectacular views. The hotel restaurant was a complete and wonderful surprise. The food and service there were both exceptional! What a way to end a two week vacation but with a wonderful meal on a terrace with a view of the acropolis! The service at the hotel itself was very professional. Breakfast was good, even better since it was included. We were very pleased with this choice of hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Although the hotel is in a perfect location near the Acropolis and Plaka, the "Acropolis View" room is actually in the "BACK" of the Acropolis. As the Acropolis was low in the front, the view is not special. The over-300-euro room is not worthy. However, this hotel still a nice hotel to stay, aslong as you don't expect to see spectacular view.

A very nice hotel in the very heart of down-town. Friendly professional staff (for instance, I had an early departure at 3:30 a.m. and the hotel provided me with a nice breakfast with hot coffee, fruits, sandwiches and pastry). The Roof Garden restaurant offers a splendid view of Acropolis together with the author cuisine and the friendliest service. The room was pretty, but the Acropolis view was in fact a "side" view: from the balcony only. One more disappointment - the hotel SPA (I was asking about massage) closed at 8 p.m. Except for these two "clouds" the stay at the hotel was a real peaceful pause in the middle of a long traveling, with a plenty of carefulness, smiles and little pleasant favours offered by the hotel staff. I wish I had more time to spend at this wonderful place and will definitely choose the Electra Palace for my further stays in Athens.

I have rated relationship between price and quality quite highly as this hotel is listed as 5star, but was very reasonable for a true 5 star. It was not a true 5 star, it was perhaps a good 4 star, in my opinion. You get what you pay for, and this hotel had smart shiny public areas, well maintained rooms, quite large, but less service and the breakfast was less good than other 4 star hotels we have stayed in in the past.

We only stayed one night but the hotel staff were wonderful. We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a perfect room with a balcony that gave us a great view of the Acropolis. They had a bottle of wine and fruit in our room when we got back from sightseeing and also sent up breakfast to have in the morning because we were catching a very early flight out. They were terrific and the hotel was beautiful.

Our room was located at the front of the hotel and had a small balcony. The hotel was ideally located near to the plaka and its many shops restaurants and bars.It was one of the few hotels to have a rooftop swimming pool with views of the Acropolos

The hotel's location in the Plaka is perfect. The balconey in the room provided a good view of the Acropolis. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The previous comments about the staff appear to be related to the guests' lack of Greek language skills and the front desk staff's lack of English.

You can't beat the Electra Palace for beauty, location, amenities and room size. This was my second trip to Athens and was not disappointed that I chose this hotel. I will always stay at the Electra palace when staying in Athens. Outstanding facility!

Location is fantastic, as it is in the heart of Plaka and is walking distance to majority of important sites. Travelling with two young children and hotel was accomodating by ensuring we had adjoining rooms. All staff spoke English and were very helpful with directions. Good gym facilities and pools.
