Smaro Studios was an amazing place to stay, and Santorini was an amazing island to stay ON! We loved every minute of it, and the service we received was top notch. A++!!!

This hotel is in a perfect location! The host was fabulous, as was the breakfast. The breakfast was the best offered on our whole trip. Our only complaint is that the site said all rooms have a balcony. Our room was on the first floor - no balcony and EVERY noise from street and front desk was heard in our room. If I opened our room's window and leaned out on the ledge I did have a view of the Acropolis. Not what I expected when I paid for a room with view for 2. If we had been given a different room we would have been very satisfied. Roof garden is perfect for relaxing and observing the Acropolis.

My wife had her purse stolen at restaurant near the Acropolis. My wife's passport was in her purse. The hotel held our room while we tried to see if we could make our flight with just a copy of the passport. We couldn't and we were able to come back to our same room. This makes the service excellent in my view. In addition, filter coffee was requested for the breakfast buffet, and they honored the request.

stayed in a 3 bedroom room, so wasn't that spacious due to squeezing an extra bed in, had a great view of the acropolis, and location was brilliant, close to everything. Staff were friendly enough, but couldve been more of assistance when needed

This hotel is right next to the Acropolis. It is the best location. It is located in a nice quite neighborhood. They have a rooftop seating area that looks out onto the Acropolis and all it beauty. (Great at night when everything is light up). The rooms are spacious with a mini fridge. Make sure to ask for a room on the outer wall, the rooms in the center by the stairs tend to be smaller than the rest. They have a nice breakfast with coffee, bread, cheese and some sliced meat. The front desk was very helpful with finding places to eat. The hotel is also within walking distance from the subway and the town of Plaka. A great place to stay and see all the major sites. Nice, simple, clean rooms.

Location and view was phenomenal. Rooms were clean and well kept. Rooms were a bit small, but that was expected so that's not really a complaint (Just realize what you're signing up for in that regard and they're fine). The manager went out of his way to be hospitable for my group our entire three days/nights. Would definitely stay there again.

Not the most beautiful hotel by any means but the location and surrounds were fantastic. On check in reception staff offered to do everything for us including booking a taxi (fixed price) to the airport, offered to provide a wake up call and to have the breakfast room set early before our departure. Probably some of the best views of the Acropolis from the roof top. Air conditioning in the room was very effective.

Nice hotel within walking distance of all major sites. Quiet area. Rooms are small but clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Loved the view of the Acropolis from our balcony. Breakfast that was included was really good. We felt safe walking in the area at night. Good restraunts nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

As it is often the case in Greece, hotel rooms are small and the breakfast is simple. Everything necessary is present though. Great quiet location - less than 10 minutes walk from Plaka/archeological sites, friendly helpfull staff, decent prices. Excellent Acropolis view from either balcony or roof terrace.

Very close to the acropolis, plaka and all the touristy sites. Great view of the acropolis from the roof balcony which is open 24 hours. Safe area, clean hotel, staff were good. Our only problem was that we asked for a double room and we received 3 single beds instead. Other than that, the hotel was good.

Myself and my wife stayed in this hotel in september 08, the hotel has a nice breakfast / bar / lounge area. The room we had was listed as an acropolis view and technically you could see the acropolis from it, we did not have one with a balcony but the room was clean, a bit on the small side but comfortable. The really great thing about staying in this hotel was the roof garden, there was a great view of the acropolis from it. We finished off each day with a couple of beers sitting on the roof with the best view of the acropolis, fantastic. The staff were really nice and helpful. The front door and the bar stay open all night. The area is quiet and seems safe. It is about a ten minute walk from the nearest underground station. There is a really nice small family run restaurant on the way up from the station. Athens in general has lots of nice places to eat and drink, the local people are very polite and frendly. The bottom line is, I would love to visit Athens again and I would stay in the Acropolis View again.

Have stayed at the Acropolis View 3 times now. What sells it for me is the location, as it is close to the Acropolis and all the adjacent attractions, whilst at the same time being in a quiet residential area. However there are several bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and the nearest Metro station (Akropoli) is only a 10 minute walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable but rather small, and despite the name of the hotel most rooms do not have much of a view. However the hotel has a lovely roof terrace overlooking the Acropolis where you can relax with a drink and enjoy the view. As the hotel is on a back street it can be a bit difficult to find, so I would recommend first-time visitors get a decent street map before they arrive in Athens.

Overall, my experience was very positive. The hotel's location couldn't be better, especially for the price. All of the staff were very kind and helpful and I thought the breakfast spread was amazing. Unlike the continental breakfasts I had everywhere else in Greece this hotel offered different types of bread (jam & honey), eggs, yogurt, 2 types of juice, 2 types of cereal, a sweet bread and fruit. Best of all it was self-serve (from 6:30-10am) so I could actually have more than 1 tiny cup of coffee. The carpet was stained but the room was clean (I just don't walk barefoot on the carpet). The bathroom size was a treat for me (solo traveler) since the shower in my previous hotel had been the entire bathroom! Honestly, for this price I was pleasantly shocked to enter my room and have a superb view of the Parthenon.

The location is perfect to see the ancient sights in Athens. The breakfast buffet is fine and the desk staff were not very friendly but were helpful. The beds were the worst I have ever slpt on and we had to make them ourselves each day with linens provided, but for the price we didn't complain.

The location of Hotel Acropolis View is superb. It is literally steps away from the entrance of the Acropolis. The roof garden has an amazing view of the Parthenon and is open all the time. In fact, that is the only complaint we have about this hotel. Our room was directly below the roof garden, and one night a guest had a party which seemed to last all night. The scraping of the chairs over our heads and the footsteps up and down the stairs was almost unbearable because there is no carpeting on the roof or stairs. A room on a lower floor will ensure a better night's sleep. Rooms are a bit small, but staff is friendly and very helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of our Greece trip and this hotel was walking distance to all the historic sights. We e-mailed the hotel prior to arrival to request a room with a view of the Parthenon. We enjoyed the breattaking view of the Parthenon on our balcony with a cold beer from the bar. The hotel is near the Plaka with plenty of restaurants and greek specialities. The hotel is also near the Akropoli metro stop that goes to the airport(6 Euro) for 2 people traveling together. We can recommend the Acropolis View to any one to see Athens in 1/2 days.

We received excellent customer service from the desk. They were helpful with restaurant tips and with making calls to the US and to the airlines. There is a Metro stop for Akropoli that is the most convenient and there are some nice restaurants not too far from the stop. You can also take the Metro directly to the airport. Be careful with taxis, they will overcharge you if given a chance. Ask at the desk for guidance regarding approximate fares.

Was promised and paid for an Acropolis View room, but did not get one. They do not have a rate for this, despite what is on this website. The rooms are OK, fairly small, but if you get a view room, you can see the Acropolis. You can easily hear your neighbors, no fun when they get in at 4am. The view from the top is quite nice. Great location.

Our one-night stay was necessarily brief, so we intended to reduce travel through a central location. The Acropolis View achieved that. It is probably the best situated hotel for the close-up view of the Acropolis (day and night views are amazing). The roof-top seating area provides an excellent spot for Acropolis photos and vistas of the city on the south side of the mount. While an extensive vista, the Acropolis blocks any view of the north side of Athens, but that's not missing much. The room was clean and neat, and everything worked as needed. Our room was nothing special - and in fact, being on the first floor (room 103), our window opened out to a sidewalk-level view of the raised street behind the hotel. I believe that there are better views available, we just didn't get one. The desk staff was helpful, although the restaurant they recommended didn't fit our request (we asked for local food with no music and were sent to an Italian restaurant with a piano player). They arranged for a taxi to the airport and advised on how much to pay. Storing bags on our departure day wasn't a problem either, and we were able to come back late in the afternoon to pick them up with the taxi. There are better hotels, but the location is excellent here for the Parthenon as well as the new Parthenon museum which is only blocks away.

We stayed for 1 night at the end of our Greece trip and this hotel was near all the sights, clean and was a great way to end our holiday. The rooftop view was great. In the evening we grabbed a couple pizzas and beers on the rooftop overlooking the Parthenon while the orchestra played in the theater. We couldn't have had a better closing ceremony.

Given the moderate price, the hotel is a bargin. We stayed twice, in two different rooms. THe smaller had a view of the Pathenon from its balcony, the larger did not, but we arrived late in the evening. Both times we enjoyed the view from the roof, where drinks can brough and the view is fantastic. Best of all the mananger steered us two restaurants that were very good and in unlikely areas. His friendliness and advice made all the difference. The hotel is a short walk to the Acropolis metro station, a slightly longer walk to the main tourist areas in Athens.

Great location near Acropolis and great view from roof. Breakfast with nice variety. Dismal, dark box of a room, no decor, tiny window with view of opposite window fan. Woman at desk not interested in helping us change rooms, said there were none available, yet she was making same- night reservations on the phone as we stood at desk. Man at desk tried to send us to expensive restaurant run by his brother in law, which was given horrible reviews for food quality and high prices in Lonely Planet guide.

Staff went out of their way to make our stay stress free and totally comfortable in every aspect.
