It is a nice centered hotel, near all touristic areas. Not the best neighbourhood as it is a little bit old and dirty.

Nice hotel with a SUPERB staff, great relationship between price and quality and a wonderful view of the Acropolis! Location may not be so nice but, ehi, that's Athens!

I was travelling with my husband, it was our first visit to Athens and Greece in general. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was OK, it served our purpose - sightseeing and getting to know Greece. The room was small, but we only spent our nights there, the breakfast was monotonous, but fine; the hotel surroundings are a bit murky, but the location itself is superb. The staff at the reception was excellent - always helpful and interested, very friendly (this is characteristic of Greek people in general, as we found out). All in all, the quality we got for the price was excellent!

We had a room on the top floor with a huge balcony overlooking the Acropolis. We left the sliding doors open during the warm nights. The breakfast is good and the breakfast room has also a huge balcony with breakfasttables. In our room, directly under the breakfastbalcony, we had no problem with noise from the breakfst room in the morning. Considering to be in the centre of Athens, the street is rather quiet. The street looks rather poor and dirty with this shiny hotel looking a artefact. But the street is full of chinese shops and business closed (and probaly with guards) in the evening. On the top of the derelict looking buildings are (luxury) apartments. Everything (also the underground stations) are on walking distance from this hotel.

We think the hotel is great value for money, within easy walking distance of the major sights of ancient Athens and close to some excellent restaurants and bars. Almost all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast could be improved with real coffee and fruit juice. There have been comments about the safety of the area but we stayed out late and didn't experience any problems. We think it's an excellent hotel for our needs and have recommended it to friends. We will certainly use it again when we return to Athens.

Well managed, clean and friendly hotel in a busy central "real-life" Athens location close to the fruit and fish, meat market (walking distance to major tourist attractions, museums and inner city businesses); amazing views over Athens and Acropolis from roof top veranda; friendly and competent staff; hotel with 24 hours reception and internet facility; I stayed twice ( 4days and 2days) and would return to stay at this hotel any time. Overall, very good value for money.

for the price paid is more than ok the only problem is the surraunding that make you feel not in a quite zone. By walking you are in the city center but this does not mean that you are in the easiest part of the city.

I liked this place enough to stay there three times. I don't think I ask alot from the hotels I stay at, but I do expect the rooms to be clean, the staff to be helpful, and a minimum level of accommodations to be met. Staff was helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and had just about everything I require, though the showers don't have fixed wall mounts so you have to hold the shower nozzle yourself. Being from North America I like a fixed mount. Even though I was traveling alone every room I was in had two beds, which is nice. Rooms could deal with noise a little better. If you have noisy people on your floor, you'll hear them. The locks in the doors are too noisy, requiring multiple noisy turns in hallways that echo. Wifi was spotty - it would be available one moment and down the next, which was annoying and time consuming. I was happy there were a few English language networks on TV, including CNN International and BBC, which is a nice touch, but a few more would be even better. Breakfast was adequate. For the money, it was a very good place and I was quite happy to be staying there. The location at first seems a little sketchy until you realize all of Athens is like that, and the young men in the street are everywhere else, too. Close to everywhere you need to go downtown. The quality of the other guests was great, fellow travelers from all over. All in all, I feel I can rather strongly recommend Evripides. Elevator is handy for people with mobility issues, but showers are not.

Stayed at Evripides for 2 nights. Rooms are very clean with AC and nice clean washroom. Staff were very helpful and all spoke good english. The only problem would be the area especially at night. Would not wander around after sun goes down, during the day its fine. But the location is great because it is so close to the acropolis and monastiraki/plaka/parliament.15 min walk only. Very nice rooftop patio which serves beer/snacks and nice view of acropolis especially at night. All in all it was a great hotel and a great price!!

Practically every review of this place has focused on the location-let me tell you that it's only 1 street (Aristofanou) that leads up from the square on Iroon upto Evripidou Street (where the hotel is located) that's a bit sketchy. OK, more than a bit sketchy. But you will be completely safe, because Athens is generally a very safe city where everyone minds their own business but at the same time are willing to help. And once you pass Aristofanou, the livelihood in the square below and the streets leading up to the metro station/Monastiraki square (the area is referred to as Psyrri) make the location excellent for it's price. Great restaurants, coffee shops, bars and nightclubs a youngish, East Village vibe, convenient access to the metro, close to the Acropolis and the lively Ermou street which runs onto Syntagma Square, close to another lively district called Thission. The staff at Hotel Evripedes are great, friendly and extremely helpful, they'l tell you how to get all the famous Athens attractions and will even suggest where to eat. There's an authentic tavern just around the corner from the hotel that serves the most well-seasoned and well-cooked lamb I've ever eaten). The breakfast at the hotel is no-frills but substantial, providing you the energy you need to explore Athens by foot, and you can eat while looking over the city, including a super view of the Acropolis. Just a tourist suggestion to end up with: go to Aristopou St (near Evangelismos station), walk into the teleferic station, buy a few beers, take the teleferic up to Mount Lycabettus and be prepared for one of the best views of an entire city you can hope to see). Wonderful in the sunlight, even better at night, time will fly while you are up there.

The hotel is very close to the psiri square (~200m) and to the monastiraki square and metro station (~500m). A very good location to visit everything by foot. The close surroundind of the hotel and the north of the evripidou street is poor and dirty, but I never felt in danger walking back to the hotel even at night. Rooms 603 604 and 605 are under the cafeteria, expect some noise starting at 6h30 with the preparation of the breakfast.

Really nice staff. Lovely roof top area with a view of the acropolis. The area is a bit bad, but not too much of a worry. Very close to everything.

The Hotel was correct but the surroundings were horrible. They look dangerous, and they actually are, as a waiter of a restaurant close to the hotel advised us. Lots of men just standing in the street, with no occupation, staring at us... we didn´t feel secure.
