We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel. The people there went out of their way to help us with everything! From booking tours for sightseeing, to finding a practice room for myself, they were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to visit the Athens area. Additionally, the breakfast and coffee were to die for! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Attractive hotel, but in not very delightful area, though actually it seems to be safe enough (possible problems in and around Metro in Omonia Square). Very near Archaeological Museum, and easy enough walk to city centre. If you get Metro to or from airport, take taxi (€5 for 4 people with luggage) from/to Monastiraki rather than walk to Omonia and then change trains. For some reason we were upgraded to beautiful spacious room with huge "balcony" (flat roof area), though we paid only basic €55 price. We had previously stayed in an ordinary room, and it was perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was OK. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, not to say generous.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The three ladies running this hotel are more than nice, they even gave a present to my fiancee on departure, and we were only staying for one night! Also they speak excellent French and English, as well as a little Russian.

I can never expect this class of service from a four star hotel, the hotel is a small and in a side location, unfortunately no one knows about this hotel including the cafe exactly opposite to the hotel (so pathetic), also the rooms are clean and spacious but the amenities provided are not up to the expectations of a four star hotel, More over the side road of this hotel is notorious for prostitutes and the people coming for them, if you are alone you may feel insecured. Also for the amount they charged I expected better service definetely.

I Googled the Art Hotel Athens and saw all the comments. They got me worried at first as this was an exceptional trip for me due to a unique surprise occasion to my future wife (birthday surprise with a wedding proposal just to top it all up).I have requested special amenities one day prior to my arrival such as a king size bed, roses, strawberries and milk chocolates just to set the mood for my birthday surprise to the very special woman I love and my wife to be.Upon my arrival I was so surprised by the welcoming, kindness, warmth and professionalism of the front desk staff (Ms Demetra and Ms Anna). They have confirmed that all was in place plus my room was ready for me to check in at 10:00am. Waoo!!They brought us dinner to the room; they called us the next morning at 12:30 to ask if we wanted breakfast and coffee in our room. They clearly showed that they cared. Politeness, willingness, friendliness and a warm smile do not cost much and we received them all from the Art Hotels’ staff on a daily basis. The road leading to Omonoia (Sokratous Str) has a few prostitute which will never get on to you but I really did not understand the big fuss about this. For instance that the area is shabby, insecure and the hotel is located in a bad neighborhood.Far from it.You can always use the parallel street (Tritis Semptemvriou Str.)to access Omonoia.Five minutes walk from the Omonoia Metro and all the cafes, food and shopping you want.I have been all over the world, stayed in many hotels, I have managed 4 and 5 star hotels, and let me tell you. This was the best hotel I have ever been to so far. People give value to the building and NOT the other way around. The best of all was during our departure when Ms Demetra called a taxi to the airport for us with a special reduced rate and had informed us that all the extra amenities were on the house.Double Waoo!!It was not a matter of money. It was the reflection of the typical Greek hospitality.I am definitely heading back.

An employee entered our room at midnight, unannounced and without knocking allegedly looking for something a previous occupant of the room had left behind. Scared the hell out of us! Employee should have known room was occupied and even if he was unsure, should have knocked first! There are no chains or other security devices on doors (which are needed!). Miranda is a doll!

This was our favorite hotel in Greece. The staff was warm, welcoming and personable. The hotel has a charming "Arty" quality. It is a long walk to the Plaka area and the Acropolis but only a 4 or 5 euro cab ride. The Archeological Museum is very near by.

Stayed at the hotel for a total of 2 days at the begining and end of our trip to Greece. The first time we stayed in a standard room and the second time in a suite. The staff were lovely and v.helpful - and provided an early breakfast for us due to our early morning departure! When we returned back to the hotel after our trip around Greece the desk staff recognised us and upgraded our room reservation at no extra cost. This meant we got a suite which was a much larger room than the standard room we had previously had and it also had a massive balcony! The hotel itself is of a decent standard. It is clean and although the Standard rooms are of a smaller size they are more than adequate for a short stay for two people! The hotel is also good if you are in Athens for just a short period of time because it is very centrally located. However, the area which the hotel is in is not the best and had I been a lady staying here on my own I would not have felt so comfortable walking here late at night! That said, it did not feel as threatening as some English streets feel on a Saturday night and taxis are realitively cheap! Over all we would recommend the hotel - but advise people looking to be within a smart area to look else where.

I was impressed by the overall quality and service of the ART Hotel, the welcome we received when we arrived, and the level of service we were offered through out our whole stay. The breakfast was delightful. I want to highlight again how much I enjoyed the level of service, helpfulness and accommodation I received at the hotel. The rooms quite spacious, especially the bathroom and shower/bathtub! If thinking of going to Athens, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful common area, lovely staff, Maria is very friendly. For 80 euros a night, I don't remember having such a nice stay anywhere else. It's conveniently located a 5 minute walk from Omonia subway station. The first floor is a bit noisy as you can hear the reception, but it was not a problem getting a room on another floor. The view from my room was on a courtyard full of rubble, but it was summer so shutters stay closed.

In a city where the problem is that staff at hotels are unhelpful or unfriendly, we found Art Hotel to be the complete opposite. The staff could not do enough to accommodate our needs, and were very friendly. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile and a helpful orientation. The rooms are clean and large and modern. The breakfast buffet was fresh. Athens was a whole different(and enjoyable) experience staying at this hotel and I would highly recommend it. Thank you to the team at Athens Art Hotel for a great week in Athens.

The Art Hotel Athens is a lovely little hotel. The furniture and equipment seems a little bit old but alltogether it's nicely done. The stuff is great, very friendly, very helpful and it all feels very relaxed and familiar. The Art Hotel is good located so all Athens' attractions and places are within walking distance. The only negative point is the surounding area - dark, dirty streets full with suspicious guys hanging around -I would never walk there alone at night. But the taxis are cheap so that can be easily avoided. Altogether we enjoyed our stay and can recommend the hotel itself very much.

Our party of 4 throughly enjoyed the Art Hotel. Our room opened to a huge private patio complete with patio furniture. The noise of the busy street below was not a big problem for us. We walked to the near-by restaurants after a busy day in Athens. We generally found the staff and people very helpful and friendly. I would stay at the Art Hotel again and would recommend it to anyone staying in Athens.

On busy main road so if you want quiet, ask for a room at the back - hardly any traffic noise there but only a view of typical city dereliction. About a 10 minute walk with suitcases from Omonia IF YOU KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING! - "MARNI" is about two km long. You need to locate "SOKRATUS" 100 m to west of Metro station & turn right there. BUT its not too well lit & pavements & crossings are VERY UNEVEN if using wheeled suitcases. WISH WE'd known this before. Found VENERE link to directions somewhat lacking - (emailed Hotel for guidance but received no response!) Very helpful receptionist(s) (Lisa especially) - speak excellent English. Free internet but slightly quirky keyboard. The tourist bus service 400 is a good buy - buy on bus (E5):- ticket entitles you to 24 hours free public transport throughout Athens. Terminates at Archaelogical Museum about 5 mins from Hotel. Very good Greek restaurant (Poza Iana but written in Greek) in Valetsiou off Exharia Square 10 - 12 mins walk from Hotel. For fish lovers- try the Gilthead! Also best Greek Salads we found all week. Hope this helps - (happy to respond to further queries via Venere.)

I had read many of the reviews of other people and found it to be as good as many said it was. It is not in the main tourist part of town but easily walked to them or a short metro ride. The laptop for guest use was a nice touch. The restaurant recommendations we received were excellent, we would not have found the restaurant by ourselves. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

We only stayed one night on transit to Naples so it was hard to judge, but the hotel and staff were lovely, breakfast was good, internet access was accessible for free 24/7 which was great. The only negative thing I have to say is that our room was boiling hot all night, the airconditioning didn't work well at all. We had friends staying in the room next to ours and theirs was fine so it may have just been our room.
