There are two Amaryllis Hotel in the same area (they are linked together). We arrived in the strong hotel and the surrounding wasn't very welcoming! Happyly, in spite of some unsatisfaction, we did prefer get a room in the good hotel.

The hotel itself was nice; the area it was in was NOT good at all, especially for women. We (my female friend and I) did not feel safe going into or out of our hotel: the streets were literally lined with trash, we were both (as was another female friend of ours) harrassed and propositioned walking down the street. For female travellers, do not stay at this Inn by yourself. Also, the room itself was nice, but it was odd that in the bathroom, there was a hose for the shower, but no shower liner. The result was a bathroom that got sprayed everywhere with water when you tried to clean yourself up.

The hotel is fine but it is located in a crumbling area populated of immigrants where it is evident the prostitution and the illegal trade of drug at any time of the day

Staff were good, unfortunately we stayed during a garbage collection strike which made the streets of Athens a rubbish dump. The hotel offered affordable accomodation right in the centre of Athens and we were pleasantly suprised at the number of other family groups in the hotel.

How to reach Amaryllis Inn

By airplane
The Athens' Eleftherios Venizelos domestic and international airport lies approximately 25 km away from the hotel. The airport is well connected to the city's centre by an express bus service and an underground line. Buses and taxis can be easily found at the airport bus station.
Upon leaving the airport, take the Attiki Odos highway (pay toll) and follow the sign to Katehaki avenue. Take the K2E exit to the elevated road. From here, take the 16K exit, which leads to the route named Ymittos ring for Katehaki avenue. Follow this road straight until exit Y1 for Katehaki and Messogeion avenue. Turn left onto Messogion avenue and go straight following the indications to Vas. Sofias. When in Vas. Sofias avenue drive straight for about 1 km until you reach Syntagma square. From here follow the indications to Omonia square, where the underground station bearing the same name is located. Once in Omonia square, take P. Tsaldari street on the left. Proceed along P. Tsaldari street which, after crossing T. Diligianni street, will become Pireos street. The hotel is located at the corner of Pireos & Menandrou.

By boat
The property lies about 12 km away from the port of Piraeus and is best reached by taxi in about twenty minutes.
On leaving the harbour, take Akti Miaouli street and turn right onto Vas. Georgiou avenue. After 200 metres turn left onto Iroon Politehniou avenue, which leads to Possidonos avenue and then to Syngrou avenue. At the end of Syngrou avenue, turn left onto Syntagma square. Then follow the above-said directions to the property.
