Hotel staff were wonderful and had a breakfast ready for us at 4:30 am when we left. Would certainly recommend the hotel. Darrel Schuetze

The location of this hotel is excellent for access to the Acropolis and Parthenon Museum. The breakfast was excellent as well. The bedspread appeared to need cleaning. Otherwise the room was very clean. The bed was a little too firm. Overall, the hotel was a good value for the price.

The room was fairly basic but very large and all rooms have balconies. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. The breakfast buffet is quite good. The location near the new Acropolis Museum and the Acropoli Metro station made it very easy to find the hotel after flying for 13 hours and made it easy to get around. The location is near the Plaka, too, so all of the restaurants/cafes are close.

The hotel is very near to the plaka and to the Acropüolis. Just some steps. Excellent to make a break during noon without need to each time by Mertro to the hotel. Friendly employees. Rooms a little bit small.

4-star rating is not correct, possibly only 2-star. Best asset is hotel's location. Main problem is the cleanliness, especially of rooms: carpeting stained and were not vacuumed during our stay, bedspread used as blanketand seemed never washed, droppings of nesting pidgeons on the balcony, bathroom needs an overhawl. Room has an unappealing odor. All seems the result of poor operational management. Breakfast was good. The physical infrastructure is such that if remodelled it coould really be a 4-star hotel.

This hotel is aimed at the budget traveller. The staff are excellent and the location is superb - it is only a matter of minutes on foot from the Acropolis, Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Zeus. There are many bars, restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity.

Great location, just 2 mins walking to acropolis. The rooms are really small and the windows open to an inside cube were you can see and be seen from other rooms and the hallway. It's a bit overpriced for what they offer, but the location is very good.

Every years I visit Greek Island with my family and always I stay at Parthenon Hotel for one or two nights. It is located very close at the Parthenon site and the new Archeological Museum .You can easily walk to Plaka for dinner and shopping. The rooms are not very wide but with all facilities ; at the morning you can eat a good variety of food and fruit.

We stayed in Athens 3 times, each time for only 1 night so there wasn't an opportunity to use many of the hotels facilities. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and found it to be delicious. We had to leave very early on one of the mornings so they had provided cereal, fruit & coffee for us. The best thing about this hotel was the impeccable service and friendliness of the staff who really extended themselves to assist us with any requests we may have had. The street is a little worse for wear but the hotel is only about 20 metres from the pedestrian area of the Plaka where there is a plethera of restaurants, bars & shops that seem to be open all night. Of course there is the Parthenon too which doesn't seem real as it sits overlooking the Plaka. This hotel is in a great location and I would thoroughly recommend it as a great 3-4 star hotel.

Very good hotel with personal so much competent. The location is fantastic to visit the major sites in Athens. Breakfast wonderful. Things that wasn´t good : -the first hotel in Athens that I´ve have seen that put a price for keeps your luggage when you go to islands and returns later to the same hotel. -If you have a room near to the sign with the name of the hotel, the lights from it cames inside your room. - the water on the bath varies cold and hot. Nothing of this is very important front of the hotel´s goods and the competence of the employers. I recommend this hotel and I´ll return there so many times as I´ll been in Athens

We wanted to visit the Parthenon and were pleased to find that the hotel was located so near to the site. Good welcome, good food, good information at the hotel. Only problem was getting there from the bus terminus, the taxi driver had never heard of the hotel and couldn't find it so had to drop us off nearby with about 200yards to walk! Not the fault of the hotel.

it was our first time to visit athens, stayed overnight, overall we had a good time. wish the website info regarding travel from airport to hotel was updated: construction on the metro line, thus some stops were closed. as per info on how to get to the hotel, we were going to take the metro, we ended up going back & forth: gone to the metro stations, then told to take the bus. and we wasted almost an hour trying to find the property: YES it was very close to the stop, Acropolis but there's 2 exits ... we took the other exit (sorry i cant remember the name & the maps are in greek). but will stay again all in all.

Staff were quite welcoming and helpful whenever we had any questions about where to go, what to do etc. They had very good knowledge of the surroundings. Room was cleana nd up to our expectations. Breakfast was alright but could be better. However, we were surprised that there were no meals served in the hotel except for very light snacks. All in all, I had a very positive experience at the hotel and I would definitely stay there again when I go back to Athens.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were helpful and polite, the room we had was clean and spacious, and the morning breakfast was one of the best we have had in our many years of travel. One caution for those who are bothered by traffic noise, ask for a room away from the street. This hotel is located about a block away from the subway and in the shadow of the Acropolis. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location to: neighborhood eateries & shops, the Plaka area, to Metro, and a reasonable walk to Parthenon. The room was a bit small but ok in relation to price. The public areas are a little rundown and the carpet in our room was a bit soiled. All in all it was good value for money and we'd stay there again.

By far the worst 4* hotel I have stayed at in Athens. The decoration was cheap and nasty and everything was badly maintained. Most 3* hotels I have stayed at recently were far better! The quality of the breakfast was very poor and, while the male staff were polite and helpful, the female staff, especially the receptionist that greeted me, were abrupt and impolite. The only "positive" is its location, but then there are many much better hotels near by in the Plaka area. I definitely do not recommend this hotel and for the price I paid (126 euros for a Friday evening) one can definitely find better.

We had a group of 3. The room was spacious enough to accommodate us. The hotel is situated in the Plaka area. Really nice area. Just a minutes away from the Acropolis. Also, it is situated very close to Ermou Street which is a huge shopping street (about a 10 min brisk walk from hotel). Breakfast was just fabulous. Probably the best that we had after travelling around France, Switzerland and Italy. Would highly recommend for anyone to stay there.

Our stay in Athens, and our two nites at the Parthenon, were part of our overall trip to Greece - to Crete ( 6 days), Santorini (4 days), Athens (2 other days), bus tour (2 days to Delphi and Meteora), and finally the last 2 days at Athens at this hotel. Thus we particulalry liked the Pathenon's location at the edge of the Plaka district, near Metro station, and a close walk to a number of fine tourist oriented restaruaunts, and lots of shops. Plus close walking distance to the main sites of Athens. Great location, very helpful staff, and a first-class type of hotel. The full breakfast was very enjoyable, with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon - plus lots of fruit, juice, cereals. Thus you can pay a little more to be near the Plaka area, and you get more if you stay at the Parthenon. Make sure you take a stroll around the general Acropolis neighbourhood in the evening, so you get to see the hilltop setting from a number of views or angles! Finally, the Acropolis site is still undergoing a fair bit of reconstruction as of summer 2008. (See photo).

I was really impressed with Hotel Parthenon. The location to the Acropolis and the Plaka was great. We felt safe walking back to our hotel at nite because of the amount of tourists around. The staff was very courteous and extremely helpful. Prior to our arrival I e-mailed regarding transportation from the airport to the hotel. The letter I received was very detailed and offered different modes of transportation including the prices so one wouldn't get ripped off by taxi. We decided to go by subway, and followed the directions sent by the hotel. They were great which made our arrival a pleasant one. I would definitely recommend Hotel Parthenon. The breakfast was great and offered many items to choose from.

The hotel location is excellent. You can walk to many tourist sites in 5 or ten munites. The metro station is also close and convenient. The receptionists were very polite and helpful. Parthenon hotel is close to the main places to visit in Athens (walking) and not in the middle of the crowdy Plaka are so you can sleep. Subway is 100 m so it´s easy to arrive from Airport and bus to Airport is 10 minutes walking like subway line to Piraeus Bedroom was clean and quite big with satellite TV The staff were very polite and helpful (they help us to rent a car with the right fare) and they take our bags the last day before we went to the airport The area looks safe to walk on the night, not too many lights but I didn´t feel unsafe. Continental breakfast with some Greek dishes, lot of different things with different desserts each day. You don´t need to have lunch with this breakfast and Plaka has lot of Tavernas and restaurants to have dinner and places to have a coffe, wine.... This is the first time I had to take care of accommodations for any of our trips so I put much research into it. I went on Forums and would just ask, What Hotel in Athens would anyone recommend? It seems no one wanted to commit to that question. I am so happy that one person told me to look on Venere for Hotels and ratings. I saw the Hotel Parthenon and saw exceptional ratings so I took the plunge. I had a few glitches with our air lines and I contacted the Hotel via email and they were so helpful. I even requested they have a taxi pick us up at the airport and that way dealing with the language and euro was not something to addrress as soon as we stepped off the plane. They were there holding up our name, and took us directly to Hotel Parthenon. It cost a little more but was worth it to us. They could not be more helpful! The breakfast was out of this world! Two different types of eggs and two or three kinds of meats along with wonderful breads both hard and soft and fruits and vegetables and coffee, OJ and tomato juice and much, much more. The kicker was that we would be having to be in the hotel lobby at 2 A.M. to get to the airport the day we had to leave and guess what, breakfast was ready! They took care of all our tours. I didn't make one call. Needless to say, if you are looking for the best. They are it!! Donna

The hotel is right around the corner from the Parthenon and the Akropoli metro station, but the directions from the website were poor and it took me 20 minutes to find the property. The lobby is beautiful, rooms were nice, breakfast buffet was quite generous. The neighborhood is quite tourist-friendly, with many shops and a number of restaurants within walking distance. I would recommend this as a decent hotel, but both nights I stayed I found less-than-adequate cleaning of my bathroom, and the cleaning staff in the morning was quite noisy in the (marble) hallway, waking me up before 8am. A good place for a tourist stay, and the decour is luxurious, but the beds were fairly hard. The staff was quite nice but the taxi they called for the airport charged almost 10 euro extra as a commission for the hotel--get your own taxi.

The room is exactly as pictured. The only weird quirk about the hotel is that bathroom door doesn't close completely. It is like a sliding closet door, and you see inside while someone is using it. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of every site in Athens.

This was our first visit to Athens. Were surprised to find how far away the airport is from the city. Caught a taxi to the airport and were charged nearly double by taxi driver. I found it easier to ask someone inside the airport if I could to get a rough idea of the cost - obviously I didn't on this occasion. This hotel was one of the more upmarket hotels. It was as the name says right near the Parthenon and we were able to walk to shops, museums, parks, and most landmarks within the area. If you didn't want to walk you could go into the city area and catch a city sights train around to see the sights. Breakfast was included.

The Parthenon is immediately beneath the Acropolis hill, and minutes away from the Plaka district with its restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. It is about 20 minutes walk from the Commercial Shopping centre, the Greek parliament, the National gardens, and the Olympic Stadium built for the first modern Olympics in 1896. It is situated in a mostly pedestrain only area away from the traffic, which is ideal for children or seniors. The hotel is clean and bright and the staff efficient and helpful. It is ideal for a vacation hotel in the centre of Athens and its attractions.

This hotel was very nice; however, I don't think I would call it a four star, it seems to be a three star on the whole. The rooms were clean, spacious and welcoming, even though we got a twin room rather than the double we requested. The bathroom was also very pleasant. Breakfast included an extensive choice, including cereal, hot food and bread, but was not veggie friendly! The location was excellent, right near Hadrian's Arch and the Acropolis, a few minutes walk from the key 'touristy' areas, on a quiet side road. On the whole, a good hotel to stay at whilst in Athens. Prices are slightly higher than it seems the hotel is worth, but I would definitely stay there again.

The location is great. Next to the acropolis or the subway station. The hotel itself is fine. The public area are not a 4 stars standard but the rooms and the staff are perfectly fine and this is what matters.
