Hotel Terra Natia - Santa Maria degli Angeli Assisi

There was an issue with the reservation system though venere.com, and there wasn't a room available at Terra Natia. However, Terra Notia found us another hotel, and arranged the rate with them. We were greeted with an apology letter and a bottle of local wine. It was nice. Our trip to Assisi for a religious pilgrimage was very close starting from this hotel. The hotel is around a bend off the main drag. If you get to a cross-street on your right after the 50m of twisty road from main road, you went too far. We didn't stay at this hotel, so can't comment much other than they found us another property.

Terra Natia is a small charming hotel that seems to cater mostly to Italians although I was informed that they do have English speaking guests. We met none during the four nights we were there. The staff speak very little English. They are however, very accomodating and try their best to help you. The room was of ample size and the bathroom was quite roomy. The breakfast was the usual Italian fare of cereal, juice, yogurt, coffee and pastries. We had dinner there twice and the food was very good and reasonable in price. The hotel has very easy access to the highway which makes it easy to visit the towns in Umbria. It is about a half mile from the train station which has busses to the town of Assisi, a couple of miles away (uphill). We had a pleasant stay there and I would go back again.

We stayed for seven days, and enjoyed it very much.The feeling was of a home away from home rather than a Hotel. The staff were very friendly and competent. The integral restraurant is excellent with a wide choice on the menu. Location is very good for access onto the major roads to the wider area for touring, and onsite parking is available.Not mentioned on the web site is that very good provision is made for disabled access to at least 2 rooms via stair chair lifts.
