Nice 3 star hotel. Our room was excellent, with a balcony and LOVELY view of Toscany fields, besides clean and wide. Staff people were Ok. Breakfast was poor (wasnt a buffet, they gave us a few breads, butter and jam and it was all, we couldnt eat more if we'd like). Location: it's very close to the St. Francis Basilica, although about a 10 min walking to the town's centre and restaurants. We'd stay there again.

The "10" rating for everything should say it all....We (me, my wife, and 13 year old daughter) had a fantastic time in Assisi, and would definately stay here again. The service and location was excellent.

The hotel is accessible to major places; when I arrived at hte hotel, I asked them if they take AX card and the answer was yes. Yet when I paid, the hotel staff did not take my AX so I was forced to use the other card. I occasion of my visit is more of spiritual reconciliation and church history. It was wonderfully eye opening to learn the life of St Francis.

Hotel St. Pietro is a clean, very convenient place to stay; if a bit somber. The breakfast was adequate but the cappuccino - I can say without exaggeration - is the worst in all of Italy! The staff was pleasant; but as my key was given directly to the elderly clerk/hop I was forced to let him take me - and my bag - to the room. I resented this. Avoid the restaurant above Hotel Berti - Albergo/Ristorante Rina- across the way from the St. Pietro. I went there mistakingly and had the worst meal of my trip. Hotel St Pietro wouldn't be my 1st choice for a return stay; but I would feel secure & confident in doing so if other options were bleak.

This was a good hotel for our two day stay and very close to the Basillica of St Francis. Some lovely restaurants nearby . Recommend a taxi from the station with luggage- ours was reasonably priced. Great views from Hotel Giotto's balcony -we just went for drinks and the view, Great exercise up and down the hills of Assisi. Next time I would stay near the Basillica of St Clare for a change. It is hard to choose between the two areas.

It was my first time in Hotel San Pietro. I found a good hotel with a good price for Assisi. I found really good to park the car in hotel free parking. It'll be my Assisi's reference hotel.

The man (I think he was the hotel owner because he was well dressed and old) who served my payment at check-out said that my credit card was not effective because machine did not accept it. I finally paid by cash (I went to ATM in town because I did not have such amount of cash with me) after his several tryings. At next hotel, I realized that the old man of San Pietro had mistaken card direction when inserting to the machine. A man who serves the payment must know the credit card treatment, which is minimum condition for all hotel men.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel San Pietro, in Assisi, July 2006. The room was OK and the breakfast OK as well. The staff was nice and helping us with informations. The only problem we had was the air conditioning. It was terribly hot and the manager was always turning it off during the time we were in the bedroom!

An excellent hotel. Just inside the San Pietro gate from the bus stop from the train station (explicit directions from the train station might be a helpful addition to the website...), it was close enough to the Basilica for easy access but shielded from the noise and day-tripper crowds. It is at the low side of town, so if the walk to dinner is mostly uphill, the walk back after the passagiatta in the Piazza Commune is downhill. The hotel looked to have been well cared for and the rooms were easily the most attractive of our Italy trip.

I had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were helpful and discreet. The Hotel is well placed for buses. The Basilica of St. Frances is close by and it is possible to walk to many other places of interest. I would certainly use this Hotel again.

Clean, well run and close to the Basilica of Saint Francis (5 minutes walk!) are its good points. The room we got was small but clean. We had a good view of the valley. The staff spoke English well and were helpful. The best part is the private parking up the street. The hotel faces an exit to the walled town, but I didn't notice much noise. I liked this hotel. It is a bit of a walk

Hotel is just within the walls of Assisi, with its own private parking area. A great location! Rooms were comfortable...but not very big and had small balconies. Although it was very warm, the hotel did not turn on the room air conditioners! Front desk said they weren't able to turn them on "yet" !!! (Why, becuase it wasn't officially summer yet?). So we had to leave the balcony doors open to get a breeze, which also let in bugs and noise. We did not sleep well due to noise, bugs and heat..and did not enjoy the visit because of it. The lack of Air conditioning was the sole reason for all the poor ratings. I would NOT have stayed here if I knew the air conditioning was not operational!

The Hotel San Pietro was a good place to stay while in Assisi, and the room we stayed in was quite satisfactory. We didn't like the rather indifferent breakfast service (it was almost as if the waitress was doing us a favor), but the location of the hotel made up for that. The other BIG plus was the free parking in the hotel lot, which, in other cities, can be quite expensive.

We were very pleased with the location near San Francesco basilica; free parking was nearby and very convenient for us. Our room had a balcony overlooking the street and the valley- very pleasant. Room had a safe and refrigerator also. Staff were very helpful with directions to drive to our next destination. Very pleased with price and accomodation.

Great hotel and location. We had a nice room with a patio overlooking San Pietro and the plains surrounding Assisi. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Only possible drawbacks are location at the bottom of a hill. But Assisi is a walking town and there is no way to not have an uphill climb somewhere. Also being close to the church, bells ring you out of bed, but that can be viewed as a plus! Close to Basilica of San Francesco. Free parking close to the hotel (50m) is a real bonus. We would definitely stay there again. (can't comment on the A/C since we went in October) Have used Venere to book other sites in Europe; extremely pleased with your service and accuracy of your info.

The very polite and gentle staff welcomed us in an unsually warm fashion. That kindness was exhibited the entire time we were there. We will be staying there again next year and encourage all to stay. The serenity that St. Francis lived in Assisi, is felt in this hotel. We will never forget our stay. It is well situated also. We are lucky to have been able to have a room and will always remember the kindness of the gentleman who greeted us.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at the San Pietro -- the hotel provided exactly what it advertised, which was refreshing to see. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The free parking was a great bonus, as Assisi is a "walking city," and we did not need to use our car for the weekend. The air conditioning system was a bit strange, as it seemed to be controlled by the front desk and would go off at random hours in the night (not fabulous in the summer heat). But overall, the hotel is a fabulous value, and in a great location. We'd stay there again.

The staff were very kind and helpful. The location is perfect. The rooms were bearable for spending just one night. Their bathing facilities were poor; one room has no shower curtains; the other does, but they are so poorly installed that they do not prevent water from spilling over. The breakfast was inadequate: a couple of juices to choose from, rolls and crackers on your table, and nothing else.

A great location in a wonderful little town(wish we had time to stay longer). Right inside the walls of the town. They had a small parking lot if you're driving in. A short distance to St. Francis and walking distance from everything else within the walls. Room for three was spacious, much larger than any other we stayed in in Italy, I think it could have easily slept 5 or 6. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was limited in comparison to other places we stayed, but no complaints. I would definitely stay there again if I ever had the opportunity to go back to Assisi.

Tremendously helpful staff. The man at the desk came out front and guided me (on foot) as I followed in my car to the car park - a pleasant surprise, we didn't know they had a car park. The bathroom was the nicest we had on our entire 11-day trip to Italy. It was as large as some of the rooms we stayed in. A companion traveling with us had a smaller but also extremely nice room. The view from the rooms was pretty. Assisi is, in general, a quiet town, but our rooms at the back of the hotel were particularly quiet. Assisi is wonderfully walkable, be sure to take a peak out of the city wall at the top of town. The location of the hotel was perfect - all the sights and restaurants are uphill from the hotel so that it's an easy bumble back downhill to get home. The hotel was only several hundred yards from the Basilica of St Francis, so it was very easy to attend an early Mass. Would definitely stay here again

We stayed at the San Pietro hotel for 2 night. The resturant was closed but they did have breakfast every morning. The only problem with the hotel was that they cut off the air conditioning at 6 am .Italy was having a heat wave during the day it was 40c and the air would be off until 2pm. The hotel staff said the computer controlled the air and there was nothing they could do. Even though the hotel was nice I would not recommend this hotel.
