Hotel Del Viaggiatore - Assisi

A great hotel with a perfect location in this beautiful old town!! It's only 4 minutes to walk from the hotel to piazza del Comune, the main center of Assisi, with some nice coffee-places and a lovely atmosphere. The hotel had clean rooms, friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast! We(seven adults and a 10-month-old child) arrived by train from Rome,and from the station to the hotel it's only a 5 minutes taxidrive.We enjoyed our stay and will surely come back!

Mirko was welcoming and helpful The location to the Vatican was great. We had a 8:00am tour and it only took a few minutes to get to our meeting place.

Luiggi, one of the owners, is the best hotelowner for a theoretical guide of Umbria . He recommended to us what every visitor shd. do around the Umbria countryside-- real places of interests. My wife and I hired a taxi and driver, per Luiggi's recommendation (he also negotiated the price w/c isn't bad ),to see all of St Francis' former churches,Abbey and forest trails as a hermit, and other medieval places of interest around Assisi.Also, one of the great breakfasts we ever had in Europe. One of the best restaurants also is nearby--The Locanda Hotel/Restaurant, excellent food, service, and arts all over while eating! We love Assisi, and will come back again. We actually extended another night at the Vaggiatore and paid also the missed night in our next hotel in Bologna. No regrets. Will recommend Vaggiatore to anybody except those looking for laundry service and mailing postcards /stamps.

A lovely hotel in a lovely spot. Luiggi, the owner/manager, could not have been more helpful or accomadating. Simply one of the best I have ever had anywhere. His other staff were equally as outstanding. The rooms were small, but that's normal for Europe in general and Assissi in particular. We had a choice between tiny with AC or larger but without. We took the without and found it to be quite pleasant with the fan and cool night breezes. Breakfast was good and the staff was very accomadating at making eggs for my 5-yr old boy. THE best hotel cappuccino/epsresso I think I've ever had...and I used to live in Naples. A tiny lift anables you to get large bags up to your room with no fuss. Parking is close and the location is only 100m downhill from the city center. I can't recommend this hotel enough!

Very nice hotel in Assisi, located in the heart of the town. very nice welcome, nice food at the restaurant, very nice stay altogether.

Very nice hotel right in the center of Assisi. A bit too difficult to locate at first, though then you find it's quite close to St.Chiara church and piazza del Popolo. The staff is excellent, especially Cristina who was extremely helpful and even managed to buy us tickets to Calendimaggio Final! As for accomodation, we had a small room with some high painted ceilings, very impressive and it was situated in a medieval arch above the street! Breakfast was nice too, even some cold cuts, which is rare for 3 stars hotels in Italy. And Assisi itself is a must see!

We had a lovely stay in Assisi and Hotel del Viaggiatore added much to it. Atmosphere, location, staff, room and breakfast were all very very nice. We can only have the best opinion about this property and would recommend it to all.

The location in the City of Assisi was excellent - somewhat difficult to find when arriving by car. The manager suggested excellent restaurants. The maid skipped cleaning our room the first day and there was no appology. Very unsatisfactory. No desk staff in evening to get towels, toilet paper, or drinking glass when the maid skipped servicing the room. Price did not match quality.

Loved it. The place was as charming and fun as the staff. It was such a nice stay. Great value for the money. Now I know where to stay in Assisi.

Our reservation at another hotel fell through, and we booked this hotel on short notice. The people were friendly and had good suggestions for restaurants. The breakfast selections were more varied than the typical continental breakfast. The elevator went to the second floor. So, we had to lug the bags up to the third. The bed was not particularly comfortable, the pillows rather skimpy. The bathroom was clean but quite compact. This would not be a first choice for a return trip, but we would stay here again.

The hotel staff was welcoming, the breakfast was wonderful. We had a very difficult time finding the hotel when we arrived. And the room that I stayed in was quite small... it was a squeeze to get 3 adults in there. This was my third time in Assisi.

The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was unbelievably spacious. The breakfast was quite extensive, particularly in Italy. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Assisi - even with our children, who did not accompany on this trip.

I was not able to get the free wireless internet, the password did not work and they could not come with a solution but to use their computer.
