Just a step away from the splendid Piazza del Popolo and the heart of Ascoli, the doors of one of the most prestigious historic town buildings - hotel Palazzo Guiderocchi - are open to guests. With culture, food, and wine itineraries, this beautiful and mysterious land is ready to be discovered.

Once the dwelling of a local tyrant and a historical bureauratic headquarters, the building has been turned into a charming hotel with 32 rooms, a cafeteria with a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the restaurant La Rua de Notari - all thanks to a major renovation of the palace and its frescoes. The hotel also offers free WiFi in public areas.

the hotel has not private o reserved car park, as the web site says. Near the hotel there is a public parking, but it's very difficult you find place there, so you must park your car far from the hotel.

We stayed at the annex on Via dei Tibaldeschi. It is 4 minutes walk from the Hotel. Our room faced a bar, and it was noisy until midnight. This hotel has parking space. But, space was limited, and always full. Sometimes it takes more time to pick up your car than you expect!

Staff is unhelpful and disinterested. In contrast the attached Rua dei Notari restaurant was most enjoyable with excellent service. This hotel's web site is literally impenetrable with programming errors such as a symbol designating this as a secure site ( where credit card information is entered) blocking data entry. When I pointed this out to staff they said they had heard this before. Please note that the famous Meletti CoffeHouse nearby no longer exists.

The hotel in very nice, clean and in an amazing position. Unfortunately our rooms weren't in the hotel, but in another building... The rooms very clean and large, had the doors and the walls very thin and you could hear all the noises in the other rooms and in the aisle. In the room no phone and no shower box and the bathroom was completely wet.

Good central hotel, the red carpet stairs was dirty on our arrival , and still dirty the following morming. Good breakfast and good coffee. It is nice to be able to keep the room till 12 midday. Well trained staff. Difficult for parking. They could do with more light, or large bulbs in the bedroom.

Excellent stay! We were worried about finding the hotel by car and a parking space; thus, with the help of the GPS the hotel was easily found. A parking space (reserved for residents) was found. We reported it to the receptionist immediately a upon arrival and she kindly offered a special badge to put inside the car delivered by local authorities at no extra cost. we left our car there for the following 3 days: this made our stay really very special. By the way, we discovered Ascoli Piceno for the first time and found it one of the best Italian towns. All the people we met were extremely nice, reserving us everywhere a very warm welcome. And the hotel is absolutely central located. We strongly recommend to follow the hotel's advice and eat at Restaurant del Corso (Fish only): what an extraordinary experience! And if you stay longer, please try the Restaurant Al Ruspante, about 5 km from Ascoli Piceno

Beware of driving to this hotel. It is difficult to find in the dark, and the roads are extremely narrow. We were staying in the annexe, which overlooks the wonderful Piazza del Popolo. This was fine during late October, but would be very noisy in summer I imagine. Rooms were clean, spacious, wonderful location. We very much enjoyed our stay here. Staff were not as helpful as they might be with directions (it took us an hour and several phone calls to find the hotel- at one stage we were asked to reverse into a pedestrian area we had just driven through!), but very helpful and efficient on arrival. The map they provide with eateries is very helpful. We recommend Le Scuderie very highly.

If you expect a boutique hotel (which would be reasonable when viewing the web site description), you will be disappointed. This is a quite run-down place, with sewage smell in the bathroom, badly functioning A/C and electricity. This disappointment is valid also for Ascoli Piceno in general, which seems to be controlled by the graffiti mob. Chose another place, unless you absolutely have to go here.

Ascoli Piceno is a very lovely town. Palazzo Guiderocchi is right in the centre of the old part of the town. For the first night we had a business room at Casa dei Notari. The room itself was quite comfortable but the noise from the near-by cafe and the youth in the street kept us awake most of the night. The next morning we asked for and were given a room in the Palazzo Guiderocchi and after that our stay was very pleasant.

I would expect to make some compromises for the privilege of staying in a romantic renaissance palazzo, but very few were needed. The courtyard/reception area didn't quite live up the photos through having a motorbike and several bicycles parked in the middle, but hey, artistic licence. Other than that, the building was beautiful, the room comfortable, and the recption staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Dinner in the courtyard restaurant was also wonderfully romantic (until a large wedding party arrived, and took advantage of the fact that it was technically 'outside' to start smoking), with good food. Service at breakfast was a bit erratic.

The residencia is some distance from the main hotel, although once there, the rooms are excellent, spacious, and appear to be even better value than the hotel. Visitors with restricted mobility may need to be cautious. Having said that, with the excellent kitchen and dining facilities and an excellent deli just across the square, eating is is a real possibility. It was our first time in Ascoli and we all loved it.

The hotel is difficult to reach, with poor indications: it took us one hour of wandering around in the town to get to it. Upon arrival, at 3 pm, the room was not ready. Informed that it would be ready in 20 min, we went for a walk, but when back we had to wait again until 4:30 pm. The room was located in a different building from the main hotel, without elevator, but this was not clearly indicated on the description when we booked. Air conditioning was not working well. Bathroom with tub, but no shower. No frigobar in the room. Not the level of service we would expect in a 4 stars hotel.

Right off the square in town!! Little noisy as all the youth come into town from the new district to let their hair down. Beautiful city and decent accomodation, though the rates shown here don't get you a room in the palace...you are down the street a little in a side hotel.

Hotel was excellent, but instead of room in renovated "palazzio", we were given a new modern self-catering apartment 2 blocks away. It was newly constructed, and I believe we were the first ones to stay in it. This was not what was advertised, although the room was excellent, as was the breakfast.

Our occasion was a holiday. We had booked an classic Room. This room is situated in an dependency. The room is very nice, but the location of this dependency is in the middle of the centre of Ascoli Piceno and that means a lot of noise in the evening of the people who are going out. And during the night the noise of the claening cars!! The hotel self is laying in an more quiet area, but here are only the more expensive rooms available. The hotelstaff speaks very bad English, so practice before you go your Italian language!! If you come by car you have to give your carkey to someone of the hotelstaff, parking is a great problem here.

This is an excellent hotel in a charming small city that is a great base for exploring southern Le Marche. The hotel has a very nice historic feel and the location in Ascoli Piceno was unbeatable. We parked outside town (5-10 minute walk) and did not use the valet service at the hotel. We had very nice meals at La Locandiera and Ristorante Tornasacco (Pza del Popolo)

All the staff were very helpful especially with the problem of parking and how to find the hotel in the middle of the Quintanta. It is within easy walking distance of all the main Piazzas, cafes and shops. The room was spacious with excellent facilities. Breakfast was good, especially after our Rome experience - awful. The attached restaurant was superb and very resonably priced. We can't wait to go back and enjoy the hospitality of the hotel and the people of Le Marche. PERFECTO as our hosts often said!

When you book by internet for this hotel, it is impossible to change one date by another one untill two days before, so you can pay one additionnal night. It is lovely located in the center of old city, but take care for parking your car. The best, if there is place, is to park your car at the main street above the hotel (just 200m). No service for early breakfast (before 8:00am) althought they promised it us. Restaurant is good but with few choice, no fish, no beer, very few desserts.

Although the hotel was hard to find initially, it was well worth the effort! Very few hotels in Ascoli, but this must be as good as any. Excellent location in city centre and hotel full of character, maintaining its Palazzo origins. However, having made our booking requirements quite clear, we were most disappointed on arrival in the impressive courtyard, to be directed to an annexe 200 yards away down a side street. Although the room here was clean and smart, it totally lacked the olde worlde charm depicted in the photos on the website. Having expressed our disquiet strongly, we were eventually upgraded to a junior suite at the top of the old hotel at no extra cost. This was an excellent, spacious room with dual-aspect over the rooftops of the old city. The lesson is a) book a junior suite in the first place or b) make sure you receive confirmation that your room is in the main hotel and not the annexe. Ascoli is a gem!

Bit of a strange review this one. All scores marked at mid point ....since ... The Hotel had double booked us ,and some others I believe. They were very apologetic, and already had rebooked us into an alternative hotel in town - Hotel Giolo. They came with us in our car to show us where the Gioli was AND paid the overnight stay (90 Euros). Having said that Hotel Gulio was not nearly as good as Palazzo G. looked, in fact it was a fairly bland establishment (albeit 4*) I would still like to try Palazzo G, but would not recommend Gulio for anything more than an overnight stop
