Fantastic location though parking a little tricky (we were directed to a "free" parking area but it took a while to find a space there.) Could not fault hotel or staff - all very welcoming and competent. Rooms were small but we had booked 3 singles and they were certainly big enough for one person. Did not have the breakfast but it looked excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel.

It was the perfect hotel for me: good place (Arènes), nice Coffeshop on 2 Terrasses, nice staff. The Spa I did'nt use, beacause the weather was so delightful. I would again choose this hotel.

The perfect combination of old world charm combined with up to date amenities. Great shower, great bed, in room safe and wifi were my main priorities. The hotel cafe turned out to be a great place to eat ,with very reasonable deals for lunch. Although hotel breakfasts are almost always weak in quality and high in price, not the case here. still pricy but the quality of food provided was great for one morning. I also enjoyed the steam room/hammam after a nice massage, great after a full day. My room even had a private balcony which I utilized on one afternoon. Only there for 2 nights and I will be back.

We loved this place. It was situated directly across from the ancient Roman amphitheater in Arles, a magnificent structure which takes center stage day or night. There are numerous good restaurants in the surrounding area, as well as its own fine restaurant in a lovely tree shaded courtyard. The buffet breakfast was quite good there. There's a huge outdoor market a couple of blocks away that takes place on Saturdays, which sells everything from local foods and specialties, clothes, jewelry and crafts. It's also a great place to base from and explore Provence and it's wonderful hill towns.

Ottima e accogliente struttura, la camera "jujubier" è perfetta per una famiglia con 2 figli (le camere da letto sono separate). Colazione consigliata per varietà e quantità. Ci torneremo....

Good old fashiloned type hotel. All staff very helpful. Breakfast good in tea garden.Parking restricted, in an old part of the town with very narrow streets.Food in Arles is poor and over priced. Hotel is right next door to impressive amphitheatre and Roman theatre, both worth a visit. Also just down the street a Van Gogh gallery of modern, thought provoking, paintings. Do not eat in 'Starry Night' restaurant, probably best to go cheap and cheerful.

Way overpriced for the location, and an absolute nuisance that there was no public garden (unless one paid to eat there) and outrageous charges for Internet access.

After a busy week in Paris spending a few days in Arles was a welcome change of pace. Arles is a lovely town and Hotel Le Calendal is right in the center of everything - next door to ancient history and within walking distance to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. We speak limited French and most of the staff spoke excellent English. They offered a nice breakfast and great buffet lunch. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Arles. Other tips: I highly recommend "The Plaza" restaurant for dinner - just a few blocks away. Although the Van Gogh Cafe is great for pictures - avoid it for lunch!

Calendal deserves high marks for location, cleanliness, friendliness and very nice bathroom. Room decor was OK, not great. The breakfast may not be worth it, but the cafe offers inexpensive alternatives. My biggest complaint was the lighting--lots of lamps, etc but very low wattage and very hard to read at night. We liked the fact that there was a cafe attached to it and it was nice to sit outside, have a drink and look at the theater. We would recommend.

Le Calendal is situated at the ideal place to explore the Arles old town. It is also ideal for people who visit Arles via train. Only 10 minutes walk from the train station, and only 3 minutes walk to the bus stop to go to the ancient museum. Staffs were very friendly and we could relax at the hotel very well.
