Hotel Planet - Rigutino, Arezzo

If you have a car and you want to visit both Arezzo and Cortona, this is the best hotel. It is 13km from the center of Arezzo.

Bathtub and sink were very dirty. Internet cost extra which was fine, but kept giving error messages and had to request new PW three times. Bed was hard. Hotel location much farther than one assumes by looking at it on the internet. Still probably worth the 60 Euro paid for the night.

Only 2 things are not best in class internet only for money (we get after our surprised glimse 1 hour for free) sadly the bad thing was mildew (Schimmel) around the bathtub see the photos

We were cycle touring from Naples to Garda and the hotel was very welcoming allowing us to park bikes in their garage. The rooms were very clean and quiet and we found a great little local pizzeria a short walk away in Rigutino for evening meal.

An outstanding hotel with very professional and helpful staff. This hotel would cater well for large groups but we enjoyed the attention shown to us as individual travellers. The parking was spacious and secure and the restaurant facility excellent.Our only recommendation was to ensure this hotel is downloaded on the GPS as we initially had difficulty finding it.

It is a little out of the way - away from the town and farther out than we thought. But the hotel has been remodeled and it is very nice clean and quiet. I also enjoyed the fitness room. Staff were very nice and accommodating

This is a nice, modern hotel that is very comfortable, but this is the second time we have been there and it is very difficult to find and get to. The hotel is in an ugly area with nothing pleasing around it, but the service is good and the room comfortable. I would say that the hotel needs to improve their signage along the way so that their hotel can be more easily found. Perhaps they could add the coordinates so that people can put it into their GPS system.

HOtel very quiet when we stayed there. Receptionist welcoming and was prepared with our room key although we just booked our room just a couple of ours before arrival. She also recommended us for dinner the 3 gatti pizzeria/trattoria-local restaurant-simple, traditional and good value. We liked it. Breakfast could have been bigger variety for a four star hotel, but was ok. -croissants and toast bread, cereal. Our room was nice and clean -not huge, but we booked just standard double. Decoration strange on the wall: no pictures but hanging rugs having matching colours with bedding. It did not matter though-my boyfriend was very happy about having TV program with SKY!

The hotel was clean and modern, probably the best we have stayed at in Italy. However, the breakfast was disappointing to say the least considering the dinner we had had the night before. We do not, though like beginning dinner at 7:30 at night- that is rediculous, especially since we were the only ones in the restaurant. This hotel is not in Arezzo, so do not plug that into your GPS- it is quite a ways out of Arrezo and the hotel is in more of a commercial district on the far end of the town. The antique market that we went to see was fabulous.

Perfect place to stay between Cortona and Arezzo, so that you can travel around. But you absolutely need a car.

We stayed only for 1 night. Everything was excellent. Breakfast was good and very nice staff.

Nicely located in a quiet villige. Fresh fruits availiable in nearby farms. Hotel is close to our destinations: Arezzo and Cortona. Very convenient to visit those two towns by car. Room is relatively small but clean and comfortable. Staffs are professional and friendly. Breakfast is OK, nothing exciting.

C'est un hôtel remarquable par la qualité de ses prestations, l'accueil et la disponibilité du personnel et son prix. Le buffet est à la hauteur de l'hotel. Nous y sommes allés avec ma femme en aout 2009 et y retournerons sans la moindre hésitation.

Très bon rapport qualité prix pour cet hotel. il n'est pas forcément facile à trouver mais on est pas déçu de ce qu'on trouve. Nous sommes venus avec un chien, il n'y a eu aucun problème pour lui. Et un très bon petit déjeuner complet et qualitatif. Recommandé!

Ottima posizione per visitare Arezzo, Cortona e i paesi vicini. zona tranquilla, ma non fuori mano.

Ottimo albergo, ottimo rapporto prezzo/qualità. Necessaria l'auto per raggiungerlo. Un po' scarsa la colazione.

Televisore vecchio e poco funzionante

We completely agree with Susan from UK 2008: "This modern hotel was adequate for our needs for an overnight stay. It was economical, clean and modern. The bathroom was lovely. We only saw the one receptionist who was pleasant and helpful and the breakfast staff who were again polite and efficient. It appeared to be quite a quiet hotel and it is well set back from a not very busy road"

This is a very nice, clean, spacious business hotel. We were very happy with the rooms and the bathrooms. This facility is very well maintained. However, our best comments are for the morning desk clerk, Laura who was a real help to us. Our car broke down and she spent an hour negotiating in Italian with the car company, the tow truck, etc on our behalf. We are very grateful to her and the hotel for all the help they gave us that morning!

L'Hotel Planet magari non é un vero e proprio quattro stelle e per certi aspetti (arredi, dimensioni delle stanze, tv, bagno) é più propriamente un tre stelle. I dintorni sono un pò squallidi ma il rapporto qualità/prezzo (59€ la matrimoniale) é eccezionale. Anche la colazione ha superato le nostre aspettative. Ovviamente é obbligatoria l'auto: nel complesso consigliatissimo!

Es el clásico hotel de carretera para pasar la noche pero con las comodidades de un 4 estrellas (3 serian las justas). Relación calidad precio estupenda. Ideal para visitar Arezzo y continuar con el viaje. El desayuno incluido no es para tirar cohetes pero te vas satisfecho.

The hotel, besides difficult to find, is in the middle of nowhere. Calling it in Arezzo or even its viccinity is crazy since it is very far from it and complicated to get back and forth to and from it. There is nothing, NOTHING around to make it attractive. Hotel seems fancy but you feel absolutely isolated there. Internet access is expensive considering it is a 4 star hotel. Even though rooms are nice, nothing helps when you feel in the middle of nowhere. Would NOT stay there again, would NOT recommend it. In general, not a good experience.

Buon Hotel, ma giusto per una notte e/o di passaggio.

It was not clear why we were given an inner room. Apart from that, everything was O.K. Another point is that the guidance for the hotel on the web is not clear enough. We needed to telephone the reception and get the instructions.

Excellent dining quality and service

Great hotel for business people only staying one or two nights but it is not very good for holiday makers as there is nowhere to sit outside in the evening or during the day . We stayed there a week in July with great weather but to be able to relax and sit out with a table / umbrella and a drink was simply not possible . Disappointing to say the least but it is a good base if you are doing a lot of sightseeing and driving.

Hotel perfecto para ir en coche. No se puede pedir más por 49€ la habitación doble + desayuno. La calidad de la habitación es muy buena, digna de un buen hotel de 4 estrellas. Trato excelente de sus empleados. Desayuno muy bueno. A 8km de Arezzo y muy cerca de otros puntos de interés. Parking gratuito.

Excellent staff. Serve an excellent included breakfast--continental, but nice. Restaurant was a fairly good choice in the evening too at the end of a long day. Rooms large, AC worked nicely. One internet terminal available, but it did not seem to be busy. Conveniently near Arezzo, on the road between that city and Cortona. Right on the highway; easy to find. We used it as a base to explore Tuscany/Umbria by car. Probably not a good choice for those without their own transport.

Un po' penalizzato dalla location, ma hotel di ottimi standard sotto ogni punto di vista. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Decisamente meglio dal vivo che nelle foto.

Very modern room and bathroom, excellent value for money at 60 euros per night. The hotel is 10 kms from Arezzo next to a shopping centre. They advertise a courtesy bus into Arezzo but when we enquired we arragnged an evening drop off and pick up but were phoned back a few minutes later to say that "it was not possible"

Apart from the fact that the hotel is 12 kilometres away from Arezzo itself, the hotel itself is excellent - from the moment of arrival, to the excellent restaurant, the comfortable, modern rooms, right up to the moment of farewell. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful when dealing with all matters.

Wonderful staff and service, modern interior with all the convenience, better than what we expected. Restaurant serves great local food. Strongly recommend this hotel in Cortona / Arezzo area! I wish we can stay there again!

As well as being a first rate hotel, lovely clean comfortable rooms and good food, the best thing for me was the genuine friendliness and helpfullness of the staff, all of whom are fluent in english. Although the hotel itself is situated in a quiet place, its easy enough to get a bus or taxi to Arezzo if you have no car and is a good base to explore the surrounding area. It's Great the hotel has internet access which was only 3 euros an hour to use. Room service was great too as they will bring anything from the restaurant's menu you like so dinner in your room with a bottle of good house wine is always an option. As a female travelling alone to look for property, I can't compliment the staff enough for making me feel very welcome, helping me find estate agents and my whole stay very enjoyable!

Our stay in the planet hotel was excellent, the only problem was there was no transport into town and it was very costly, they also advertised indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, and excercise rooms which were not even open yet
