It's a beautiful old monaster, very peaceful. The dinner was delicious and the t-bone excellent! A wonderful place.

very difficult to found the hotel which really is in the middle of nowhere. the room and bathroom were small, the staircase dangerous. Breakfast was served in a tiny and unconfortable dining room.

We found it hard finding the place. Each time we left the hotel, we had trouble finding it again. There should be a sign placed right on the main highway directing you to the hotel. I'm not sure if there is bus service from this hotel because it is kind of isolated. We had dinner at the hotel one evening and it was very good. We found downtown Arezzo to be like a giant flea market with all kinds of vendors and plenty of food.

I requested a hotel in Arezzo and was booked a great distnace away from the city. The hotel was very difficult to find and only with the help of locals who took the bother of a 10 minute drive to find this location which was not Arezzo but La Matta in the region of Arezzo!

Le Capanne is out in the country but has its own excellent restaurant. We heartily enjoyed a wonderful dinner there and were happy to be able to simply walk back to our room. Another nice feature is the free internet service. This is a nice place to stay while visiting Arrezzo.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was welcoming and most helpful. An unexpected surprise was an adjoining restaurant with excellent regional cuisine and wines. Highly recommended for those with a car (hotel is located about 6 Km from Arrezzo).

Very friendly and helpful staff at all levels. Excellent restaurant with interesting food. Availability of bicycles gives another dimension to staying at Le Capanne. A very peaceful, relaxing place for a break.

How to reach Hotel Le Capanne

By car
From North: from the A1 motorway exit at Arezzo and follow the signs to Arezzo. At the first croosroad, turn right onto zona industriale San Zeno. Proceed straight for 2-3 km (1.2-1.9 miles) until you reach a traffic lights, turn right and after about 700 meters/0.4 miles, turn left following the sign to Arezzo Equestrian Center.
From South: from the A1 motorway, exit at Monte San Savino, turn left following the road until the entrance of the Raccordo Siena-Arezzo, following the signs to Arezzo. At the end of the beltway, turn left at the traffic lights and, after about 700 meters/0.4 miles, turn left again following the signs to Arezzo Equestrian Center.
From Cortona or Perugia: drive on the SS 71 in the direction of Arezzo. After the little village called Il Matto, turn left just 50 metres/0.03 miles before the sign Madonna di Mezzastrada and proceed straight until the end of the road. Turn left on the white gravel road and drive for about 400 metres/0.2 miles.
Hotel Le Capanne is located at 400 meters/0.2 miles from the equestrian centre along the white gravel road.

By train
From Arezzo railway station turn left onto Viale Piero della Francesca. At the roundabout take the third exit (Via Baldaccio d'Anghiari) and keep driving until the following roundabout. Take the second exit, cross the underpass and turn left onto Viale Cittadini. Turn right onto Via Vittorio Veneto at the second traffic lights. Proceed straight following the signs to Siena and to zona industriale San Zeno. Once at the San Zeno traffic lights, keep driving straight and after about 700 meters/0.4 miles, turn left onto the Arezzo Equestrian centre. Hotel Le Capanne is located at 400 meters/0.2 miles from the equestrian centre along the white gravel road.
