Location, location location! This is the best quality of this hotel. Exactly two blocks away from the bus station, and exactly two blocks away from the Church of San Francisco (where you can find the amazing frescos of Piero della Francesca telling the “Legend of the True Cross”). Arezzo is a very small city (the historical center I mean) and the hotel is located right there. Three blocks away from the Cathedral and no more than five or six blocks away from any historical interesting sight. The hotel is OK. If you are looking forward to stay in one of those typical Italian hotels placed inside a 400 year old building, this is not the hotel for you. This is not an antique house, with typical Italian architecture (you can see that in the pictures). This is a typical hotel, one of those you can find anywhere in the world. Air conditioning, carpet everywhere, TV. Its very clean, the bathrooms are big enough and the rooms, perhaps, a bit small (not too much though). We can’t say anything about the food, because we ate outside. There is practically no lobby (just a small desk in a narrow corridor) and one advantage is that at the reception desk they really speak English (not like many hotels in Italy where they say they do, but communicating with them is an entire odyssey). At one side of this desk there is a desktop computer with internet access, if you need it. The hotel has an elevator, mini-bar and Satellite TV (but be warned, satellite TV in Italy usually means that you get international channels, but that does not mean that you get HBO, FOX, Cinemax or any American channels at all. You get a lot of Italian channels, some German channels, one French channel and two British channels -Eurosport and some news channel-, and this hotel is no exception to the rule). The staff is very kind and willing to help you if you need it. We think that the rate is fair (is not a bargain, but is fair) and Arezzo is one of those cities where you go to the hotel only to sleep

The hotel and staff were excellent. Our room was clean, tidy and warm and the bathroom had been recently been renovated. The breakfast room was clean, neat and tidy and the food which was the usual type of European "light" breakfast, was plentiful and good. The staff always greeted us with a warm welcome and when the heating stalled it was repaired immediately. The Cavaliere Palace is situated at the lower end of the old town in a narrow street so doesn't have any views, except of the usual graffitti on the walls opposite. It is, however, a very short distance to the railway station so a suitcase can easily be dragged there. The lobby of the hotel is very small, actually a hallway, but the rooms were the standard size and the bathroom was actually bigger than I had imagined. The old town of Arezzo is very small, has some superb churches (and wall-paintings) and a great Roman museum, although we found that in the dead of winter many of the cafés and restuarants were closed.

Advertised as a 4-star hotel, it did not compare in any way with the 3-star Hotel Continentale (at which we had stayed earlier). The Reception and public areas were very limited. Street noise was irritating - perhaps better insulated windows would help. The breakfast room was pleasant and the breakfast offerings good. In the hotel's favour, they did respond to our complaint about excessive crowd noises until early morning, by changing our room to an inside one.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel: friendly reception staff, clean and spacious rooms, good breakfast, very central location. Parking in the garage was handled by a different outfit, but everything was well coordinated. Great not to have to drive anywhere.

I am amazed that this hotel has been given a four star rating. The entrance is extremely narrow, and there isn't a lounge area, or a bar of any kind where one could have a coffee or a drink. The only common area is a small room on the first floor. The breakfast was poor to say the least, and the coffee was served in a jug. Some of our party stayed in the Continental (a three star hotel close by) which was far superior. Although the location is fine,I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

the room was very small, the air conditioning didnt work, the plastic door of the shower was broken and had a big hole in it. anyway, everything was clean and the employees kind, the price not too high. However, this is NOT by any means a four stars hotel.

All was all right, except for breakfast not so rich for a 4 stars hotel

Small nice hotel in the heart of the city center; a few minutes walk from the main attractions and from very good local restaurants. A bit noisy during the weekend because there are some bars and discos nearby. No spacious hall and public area. Little breakfast included in the price.

I was glad I chose this hotel, mainly because of the convenience for the "Piero trail" - round the corner from San Francesco church and 100m from the train and bus stations. The staff were very helpful and it is good value for money.

Un hotel muy agradable tanto en decoracion como en el trato del personal, uno de los mejores en los que hemos estado.

Hotel is classified as 4 star. It was disappointing in quality and not what we expected. We have stayed twice in the Continentale in Arezzo, also booked through venere.com, classified as 3 star! The Continentale is much better value for money, both in public areas, the welcome of staff, the room and the breakfast! Breakfast at Cavaliere was very poor.

One of the nicest hotel we stayed at in Italy. Staff was very friendly, room was nice and it was a great location. We would stay here a million times over.

Room quite small, with corner shower flush with rest of floor - so a bit of spill over. Otherwise, definitely as advertised. Several very good restaurants close by, shopping close by, and historic portion of Arezzo an easy walk away, even for my arthritis. We'll stay there next time we visit Arezzo.

I have stayed at this hotel many, many times and each year it goes downhill a little more. They really need to completely rennovate all the rooms. For example, soap dishes are not anchored to the walls securely, shower doors are old and they leak, the furnishings are very dreary, the TV is a miniature one which you can barely watch from your bed and the noise level between rooms is intolerable. People constantly slam their doors because of the way they close, so you are startled once you do fall asleep. Non smoking rooms are NOT enforced. The owners smoke at the greeting desk. Their parking garage hours are very limited at night...11PM it closes and then you must leave your car on the street and risk getting a ticket. The people are nice and the location very convenient to "Centro" and the train station, but I think this is the last time I will have spent at the Cavaliere Palace. The price for the rooms is simply not worth what you get. I discovered a new place while there for half the price and nicer.

Convenient short walk from the train station, very helpful and knowledgeable staff at reception and at the breakfast room. Right in the centre of the city. Will recommend this hotel to any visitor to Arezzo.

The hotel staff is very friendly. It does not have a parking area or garage. They do work with a local garage for a fee that does pick-up and delivery, worth it. I would stay here again..

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's noisy. You can hear everything that goes on in the room next to you. We booked two nights and ended up only staying one, because of the noise. The hotel charged us FULLY for the second night, which doesn't seem right. Go and stay in the HOTEL PATIO, it's a little more expensive but well worth it.

Hotel facilities and location are great, just a few steps from the city center. But I should state that my expectations for a 4 star hotel in Italy would be a bit higher than what I have experienced... still worth a try!

As we travel a lot I think the only comment I could make was that the directions from rail could have been more detailed, otherwise good possition for exploring town and close to trains.

Good Location, room is not very quite(walls are not unsounded), good service, for me the price is too expensive for the quality of the hotel, but it's very central and the it's ok.

I really liked this hotel. It is situated perfectly; 5minutes walk from the railway station and 5 minutes walk from the centre. Arrezo is well worth a visit and is not yet spoiled by tourism.

great central location and refreshing overnight visit. However we had a queen sized bed with only a single blanket on ( in winter)- and the sheet was torn. We booked at the last minute on Antiques market weekend so that may be why. Breakfast was superb.

1st night impossible to sleep in room with paper thin walls. The toilet flush in the next room woke me up and I could hear EVERY word couple in next room said. I was moved next night to an acceptible, but small room. I think that every hotel room, no matter how small needs to have a place to set a suitcase down besides on the floor, blocking armadio (Closet) door. Staff was delightful and location was ideal.
