We stayed at this beautiful Tuscany hotel in June. The location was amazing with a fabulous view! The ambiance of this hotel was romantic and peaceful. The staff was impeccable and very personable. They treated us like family and gave the type of service that you would receive from a 5 star resort! The hotel was very comfortable with excellent hospitality. We got to know the staff very well as they gave us so much attention. We will definitely be back! Joseph and Flower were the BEST! These two employees were attentive to our every need and worked very hard to create a great experience for their guests! These two employees are keepers! Thank you for the wonderful memories your hotel and staff created for us!

When we had arrived hotel no one was their, we have to carried in our luggage from parking lot to the room. The hotel is top of the mountain where is wonderful location but you must have a car and navigation system. Hotel staff are very nice and foods are ok.

This is a wonderful place to stay for 3 or 4 days, a car is essential to explore the surrounding areas. Our 5 nighter was perhaps a shade long, because it feels remote though only 5 miles or so out of Arezzo, nearly 2000ft up a hillside on the edge of the Alpe di Poti. The drive up has a couple of bottom gear hairpins, with countless bends and twists, but the reward is great at the top. Fantastic views from the hotel, and excellent attentive service in virtually all respects. However the menu is perhaps a bit restricted, given that there is no alternative within walking distance and an evening drive into Arezzo may be a bit a bit daunting because of that road. However the food is excellent, however, and we felt pampered, especially as our suite (upgraded) had 2 bathrooms. The remoteness also gives a delightful 'away from it all' feeling. All in all, highly recommended.

We spent three nights in Badia di Pomaio. Hotel is located about 6 kms outside Arezzo in a very nice position about 1000 feet up in the hills and is a converted monastery. As such the rooms are fairly dark with one small window and a sky-light which feels a little 'close'. Directions to the hotel in website are not great but OK in their brochure... too late for first arrival though. Staff very friendly and restaurant food good. Breakfast a bit limited compared to other hotels we stayed in. The swimming pool is a great feature overlooking the spectacular view of city and surrounding countryside.

We chose Badia di Pomaio for a 2-day stay during a 7-day Christmas-New Year visit to Tuscany and we couldnt be more pleased we did. Badia di Pomaio is an excellent and beautiful hotel. The view to Arezzo from the front is absolutely fabulous as well as the surroundings. The rooms are luxurious and particularly spacious, we chose a smaller one in order to have the best view to Arezzo and we were really happy with it. The breakfast without being great, was sufficient. The point to focus is how to get there. If you're reaching by Car-GPS get the exact coordinates from the Hotel website. It really saves time. And be sure to reach the hotel through Arezzo. The staff of the hotel was particularly helpful and kind. Great value for money !!! We would stay there again anytime.

DREADFUL, despite a large number of cars in the car park we were eventually told, after 10 mins, that half(4) the rooms were not available so there was no room for us. After arriving very hot and dusty as it is a long way from town, we were told we could wait 2hrs, but there were no facilities to wash and change, have dinner and then be driven to another hotel to sleep. The owner at his computer did not even get up to speak to me personally.

Stunning location and easy access for Arrezzo A family run hotel with the highest standards, very friendly and accomodating. Directions on how to reach the hotel from the city are excellent - don't try to approach from the national park behind the hotel. The food was fantastic and the wine just as good.

Hotel, food, service, surroundings: perfetta! Gianni and his staff are very friendly and helpful. Try to combine a stay in Badia di Pomaio with a visit to the famous antique market in Arezzo, always on the first Sunday of the month and the Saturday before. Only signs to location could be better.

It is easy to find the hotel, just follow the directions on the website, the last few km is a very tiny road, drive carefully! The view over Arezzo from the hotel/pool is absolutely beautiful. The staff were nice and very serviceminded, the management was not, they have to work on being as friendly as their staff. We had dinner one night at the hotel and the food was very, very good (try the tuna steak). Breakfast was also very good, a lot to choose from.....salami, ham, salmon, cheese, different kind of cakes and bread. We had one problem, and that was the noice indoors due to stonefloors and the paperthin walls between the rooms, you hear everything absolute everything so it was hard to get a good night sleep.

A marvelous retreat after the hustle and bustle of Rome, Venice and even Arezzo. We felt special from the moment of arrival until we departed. We had no trouble communicating...some staff were proficient in English, others had fun trying, as did we in our limited Italian. While this is a centuries old Abbey, no expense was spared in updating it to a modern hotel. Yet at times, you feel that you are a part of the happenings so long ago.

Beautiful surroundings, quietness, view! However relatively far from the city Arrezzo. We stayed only one night. So there was no possibility having a visit of the city not using the car. And even by car it is rather distant. But we love the place and the restaurant.

Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night and regretted that we could not stay longer. Service was excellent, hotel and surroundings lovely and the views beautiful. Dinner was delicious and breakfast plentiful. The other guests were friendly and made a point of meeting us. The hotel is 15 mins from the train station by taxi, and perched high on a hill away from the hustle and bustle. Perfect for a quiet break relaxing by the pool.

The accessibility is the only area thta copuld be seen as a problem . Believe in the instruction and look for the corner shop for the turn to the hotel .That is the key. Then the 4.3 km up the hill!

This property is located in the hills of Arezzo with an amazing view. There is a lovely pool. It is very removed from the immediate city. You must drive to get anywhere as there is only one way up the hill. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was across from the kitchen which made it a little loud until about 10:30 p.m.

This hotel was amazing! It's a several hundred year old monestary that was converted to an inn and restaurant. The owner Gianni is a warm and friendly host and his 6 year old son is a great character and entertaining whenever he is around. the property and surrounding countryside are spectacular! There is a 5 star (in our opinion) restaurant in the building and the service, ambiance and food are maginificent. We could have had several meals there if we stayed longer. There are not enough compliments that can adequately add to the description and experience we would like to convey. We were sorry that we were unable to stay longer but would return and like others use the Inn as our base of operation when we further explore Tuscany. You will be fortunate if you stay here.... Its great value for the money and an experience you will never forget!

Very good place to relax. during the winter the only thing you can do is probably stay in the hotel and have a good meal. the quality of the food is very good, and the prices are good for what you get. it's a bit far from everything but it's ok to chill out. there are plenty of farms close where you can buy som local organic products. we had a very good time there. stayed only for 1 night only, i wouldn't stay there more than 3 next time though...
