An excellent hotel and highly recommended. The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. Each morning the General Manager had a short chat with everyone having breakfast to ask about their stay and if everything was satisfactory.

A Great hotel with a good location! The first surprise is waiting for you upon your arrival: fresh croissant at the entrance that is free of charge. The hotel is not very charming from the outside, but it is nicely decorated from the inside. Rooms are comfortable with flat screen tv and a clean bathroom. Safe is located in the room, but keys need to be requested at the reception. There is a garage in the hotel, which is not too big (max 8-10 cars), but a parking house can be found within 500m from the hotel. Breakfast is surprisingly good for a 3 star hotel. We were very satisfied with the hotel and would recommend to everyone, who wants to stay in a quality hotel for a reasonable price!

I stayed in the twin room , there is wide enough. Complaints were not in the room because it was clean. Also nearby is quiet , so we could sleep right away into the bed. The hotel staff is cheerful and very kind. When the sightseeing in Antwerp, I can put in my suitcase at the hotel after checking out (also kindly at the time) , so we can get comfortable sightseeing in Antwerpen. If I have a chance to stay in Antwerp, I want to stay at this hotel.

Nice hotel, would come and stay again. There was a bit of a mix up with the rooms so I got upgraded to a big room automatically. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with directions, and the room was quite clean and had tea and coffee facilities. Strangely, the minibar/fridge was locked. The hotel is located down a side street very close to the diamond district. It's an excellent location - close to the station (less than 10 mins), and yet far away enough to be away from traffic and noise. It's also an easy 15min walk down the main shopping street to the city centre. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I don't know how it compares to other hotels in Antwerp - breakfast is included, there's free wifi and the staff were very nice, so all in all I thought it was worth it.

This is a comfortable and conveniently located hotel that serves a perfectly adequate buffet breakfast. It is not cheap, but not overpriced for where it is in the Diamond district. What it lacks is any particular charm or character.

Despite typing address into 2 tomtoms we ended up in a very poor area of the city. I suggested we headed for the Zoo and then search for nearby hotels which found the Astoria no problem. We were initially given room 419 which was next to the lift shaft which was very noisy and the a/c wasn't working. We were moved without fuss to 402 next to our travelling companions however the a/c was still not up to standard so we had a very warm evening. The receptionist provided very useful instructions to get to local eating places, we recommend the Argentinian Steak House for a wonderful meal.

This hotel is a good choice. It is near the Central Station for trains, There is a fine Lebanese restaurant around the corner. My room was very quiet. The internet fees were high, but there were two desktop computers in the lobby where one euro would get about 10 minutes access. It is a longish walk to the tourist areas but public transportation is good.

The hotel decor was of an age where a few things are beginning to need repairs, but overall the quality was high. The little park across the main road from the hotel is a nice place for a quiet stroll and the fact that it is right in the diamond quarter and the Jewish community makes the surroundings fascinating. There is also a small supermarket very conveniently situated just round the corner.

Very close to the Central Train Station (less than 10 mins walk). Very good value for the money. Internet access available but relatively expensive compared to other hotels (1 Euro for 10 mins.)

Would stay in hotel again if visiting Antwerp. A tea/coffee tray in the room would be nice. Receptionist excellent. Rueben's House Museum and various churches worth visiting.

Antwerp (Pop 440,000) is a great city to visit. Something for everyone, historic sites, great shopping, excellent food and drink (Belgium Beer, Waffles, Chocolate, best fries in the world (try wth gravy or mayonnaise), great public transport. We were on an 2 day, overnight trip and the Astoria was actually a very pleasant surprise. Judging by some comments on Venere about this being a "bed and breakfast" we can say a a definite no. It is a very nice, extremely well-priced hotel. It hasn't got an "evening" restaurant but Antwerp has many excellent restaurants at all prices but that is the only thing. It is in a quiet street right in the Diamond district which is a unique experience, near the station and only a 2 minute walk from the main shopping street (Meir) which leads all the way to the main Markt historic core. The restaurant, as such, is a very spacious, well-stocked Breakfast Room which is included in the price. Considering the very reasonable price the hotel is very clean and the rooms were pleasantly spacious. You could pay twice as much and you really wouldn't get much better. Great for cars (always a problem in old cities)as it has an excellent, clean modern underground car park, although, beware, it is limited in spaces and a bit tight to get out of, but as long as you don't turn up too late you should be ok - you have to pay extra but it is extremely secure as it has a shutter door. Room was very quiet, clean, sheets clean. Pillows were bit hard but that's a minor issue. Fantastic stay, and we will come back shortly as the Fashion Museum was closed until March and we didn't get a chance to see the Main Art gallery which looks excellent. Ruben's House is better than expected. Great value.
