Discover a charming hotel in Annecy, France and choose to stay at the Hotel Du Nord. Annecy is a beautiful and remote town in the French Alps. Many of its structures date back to medieval times and gives you a sense of history. You may visit the Palais de l’Isle, the Château d’Annecy, or the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre, which date back to between the 12th and the 16th centuries. The Rue Sainte-Claire is a lovely street with arches built in the 17th and 18th centuries. You may also visit the European Gardens, the Lover’s Bridge, or the Rue Royale, which is the commercial center of the city, with many shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Perhaps the biggest attraction visitors have to Annecy is its lake of the same name. It is lovely and offers you many opportunities to try water sports. This includes water skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, sailing, boating, and scuba diving.

The pet-friendly Hotel Du Nord is centrally located near the lake and the old town. As part of the Citotel Group, this 4-story accommodation offers many amenities such as a luggage storage room, air conditioning, a lift, a fax service, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Breakfast buffet is served each morning from 7 AM to 10 AM.

Pets and service animals are welcome. The entire property is non-smoking. Parking is available nearby for discounted rates.

My stay was fine, but it could have been a little better. The hotel is easy to get to from the train station and is in a safe area, but it's a little far from the city center, and there was some street and hallway noise. At night, the electricity in my room went out for about 15 minutes, but it was back up quickly, so I didn't call someone to fix it. The room and bathroom are pretty small, but for one person, that was okay. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

We were at the hotel in Aug 26-29,2011 and it is a good hotel with comfortable rooms. I do recommend this hotel and would stay again. The location of the hotel is near the center of the old town and you can visit the beautiful city and shops. The staff are well qualified. There are several options for parking, there is a free area several blocks away, but you can unload your luggage in a 3 to 5 min stop in front of the hotel then park your car. Very very beautiful town. Highly recommended!!! The staff is very nice, and they will help with questions. The rooms are small but clean, and beds are firm. This was our first trip to Annecy and we can recommend it. The hotel was ideally placed for the shops, bars and restaurants, of which there were many, and the lake was only a 5 minute walk away. I want to go back to this beautiful city!!!!

The best feature of this hotel is it's proximity to the old town. The staff is very nice, and they will help with simple questions. Parking is s challenge, snd it is not free except for the nighttime. You must pay for day time parking yourself. The rooms are extremely small but clean, and beds are firm. We had to check out a day early because of an emergency, and they were very understanding. I was asked to call Venere directly to okay the early departure and venere spoke to the desk to get their approval, I was supposed to receive an verification of the early checkout by email from Venere, but that has never arrived

While the rooms were small, they were very well appointed and comfortable. Arrival was a little fraught with only five minutes parking allowed immediately outside the hotel. The car park was only a short distance away and not at all inconvenient (we did know this in advance). The rooms were quite small but comfortable and were equipped with air conditioning, which is good because we needed the windows shut to keep out the noise from the busy street below. With the windows shut, the noise was not noticeable at all. Our rooms were on the second and third floors which meant that the five of us had to go up one at a time in the tiny lift (one person + 1 suitcase) or climb the stairs carrying our bags. We opted for the latter which provided our workout for the day. The location of the hotel was perfect for our stay, right in the heart of the town and only a very short walk from the lake and the riverside bars and restaurants in the old town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here in June 2008 with my 60-something parents and my boyfriend. Location, price, and air conditioning were the main reasons I chose this hotel, and I was really really glad I did. I thought the rooms were really cheery and beautiful. The breakfast was an outstanding value and the breakfast room was really delightful. At the end of a two week trip to France, my parents concluded that they would come back and spend two weeks just at this hotel to enjoy Annecy.

Staff is very friendly here. Old section of Annecy is not very large, but this hotel is right on the edge of it, very conveniently located, within walking distance of everything, including the lakefront. It's just a couple blocks from the train station, which was great for me. Not the Ritz, but perfectly comfortable, and the service was good.

We had a terrific stay in Annecy and at Hotel Du Nord for 2 nights in April 2007. The location was perfect, as represented on the site...5 min. walk from the train station, at the edge of the old town, and a short walk to the lake. Lots of cafes, restaurants and shops just steps away. We were lucky enough to have a balcony overlooking the street...nice feature in a very small room. Other reviews prepared us for this, so no problem. Room was clean and bathroom was nice too. Tried the breakfast based on positive reviews we'd read and it was excellent. Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

We were three couples staying in Annecy for one night on our way to Paris. The hotel was centrally located, fairly easy to find and quite comfortable. Although it is not directly inside the old town, it is directly beside it and very close to the train station. The rooms have been recently remodeled and are immaculate. This is a good city hotel offering good value for money. It is very clean, beds are comfortable and you have everything you need for a stay of a few days. The location is very good and car parking is close by in the city. Rooms are very small, however, and I would not want to stay for more than say about 4 nights but you could pay a lot more for not much extra.

Annecy is one of those "you can't get there from here" towns because of many pedestrian-only and one-way streets in the downtown area. So we had a difficult time reaching the hotel, but were very pleased once we did so. It's definitely a bargain for the price and very well-located in this charming city!
