Hotel Il Girasole - Anacapri, Capri

A terrible place to be. The rooms are old and not comfortable at all, you never know if you are in your own room or in the neighbor's because you can hear absolutely everything from one room to the other. The swimming pool is particularly dirty, no one takes the risk to swim in it! For breakfast you have to choose between drinking a terrible coffe or paying two euros more to have a normal one. All these things are nothing compare to the reception and the employees' behaviour. Everytime you ask for something, you have the feeling to do a terrible mistake, all the employees (except one) are always rough and agressive! The hotel is quite isolated, out of the center of Anacapri and there is no bar or restaurant. If you want to drink a can of bier or it a bad ice-cream, you have to pay 5€ for that. One of the most terrible place I have ever been.

This place was great. it is located in the anacapri countryside on a hillside. You have to walk 10 minutes to the bus and 15-20 minutes to a restaurant in Anacapri but the scenery is breathtaking. Quiet and not crowded like the area nearer to the port in Capri town. You wake up in the morning and outside your door is a view of Ischia shining in the Bay of Naples. Only 88 euros a night for 8 nights in may. The room itself was standard sized and the bathroom wasn't bad. Everything is spotless. Have them turn on the air for you and don't open the windows at night (no extra charge for A/C). There were plenty of mosquitoes if you opened the window at night. Great breakfast with breads, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, eggs one day, meat and cheese, juice and coffee. great restaruants about 15 minutes away in Piazza Boffe near Santa Sofia.

Beautifull surrounding and quietness well needed after the hectics of Capri-tourism. Would recommend this hotel to everyone who would like to enjoy Capri AND have a nice relaxing stay in the corner of Capri island

Very annoying that a shot of espresso or a cappuccino for breakfast is considered an extra... Hotel is far from the center of the village than advertised room with very poor light and with lots of humidity.

The staff were all very accomodating, polite and happy to help. They knew exactly where everything on the Island is located. The staff even kept taps on whether the Blue Grotto was open or not. The hotel is run by a family and they soon felt like my own. The location is in an out of the way setting, but the bus stop is only a 5 minute walk. The island can be busy so the hotel location is perfect!!! Ciao

La gente del hotel fue muy cordial y servicial. La habitación era muy pequeña. La pileta, solarium y los demás espacios son muy lindos. El inconveniente es que para llegar al hotel solo se puede caminado unos 300 m porque es una calle muy angosta.

Wir waren im Oktober zwei Nächte im Girasole. Der Anreiseweg ist etwas lang: Von der Marina Grande mit dem Bus nach Anacapri, dort an der letzten Station aussteigen. Die Treppen zum Fußweg hochgehen, dann mit den Koffern ca 500 m die Via Linciano entlangziehen... Zimmer und Bad etwas klein aber sauber. Frühstück ist oK. Abgeschiedene Anlage. Viel zu Fuß gehen erforderlich! Swimmingpool nicht beheizt. Fürs Busfahren evtl Tageskarten besorgen, gibts nur an der Endhalte in Capri. Die Busse fahren pünktlich und ziemlich häufig. Nächstes Mal vielleicht ein Hotel direkt in Anacapri.

We had a wonderful stay - what a beautiful view! I only wish we had stayed more than one night. Only one suggestion- it would be helpful to add a more detailed map on the web site as it is not obvoious how to find it. Also a note such as "take the Anacapri bus from the harbor to the last stop, which is the bus station, then go up the steps and you will see the sign to the hotel".
