Lots of stairs, good for people who are reasonably fit or want exercise. Lovely room, although our first room (which was bigger) had a leak in the bathroom, so we had to change to a smaller room, which was a shame. Anacapri shopping and dining fantastic.

Only stayed one night. The room was very small but clean. This hotel would be difficult to get to with suitcases as it is accessed by a long winding pathway with many stairs. The reception staff were very helpful.

This time, it seems to be a bit too early in the season, the garden were untidy, to little cheese for breakfast, the room was somewhat cold (especially the bathroom), the cupboard damp (with paint falling from the ceiling) and some lightbulbs missing. but it is still a lovely hotel which i am looking forward to return to, due to the quietness on that corner of the crowded island, and the very nice walks in the area. the restaurant "le arcate" is also nice, although a bit far from the hotel.

The overall stay is really wonderful for both the surroundings and the expertise of the personnel. I only would like to observe that the site, while beautiful, is some difficult to be reached for unpaired or just tired people, because the number of stairs from the arrival square. This has to be mentioned to avoid surprise.

We stayed five nights during March 2009. Our out of season rate was reasonable for a junior suite, however be aware that much of Anacapri and Capri is closed out of the 'true' holiday season (May-October). This means some scouring for local eating options, mostly pizzerias, or some self-catering. However, the island is quiet and beautiful out of season and our main reasons for visiting - Axel Munthe's Villa San Michele and the Villa Jovis - were uncrowded and we had them to ourselves. Our junior suite was actually a small, independent villa with terrace located adjacent to the hotel. This comprised bedroom, bathroom, combined sitting/kitchenette/dining room and a private large terrace. Breakfast was included in our room rate and this was served in the hotel breakfast room (cereal, yoghurt, rolls, meats and cheeses). Having booked a suite, we had access to a small kitchenette however the gas ran out during our stay and we were unable to heat up any water or simple meals. The management were not interested in replacing the gas and indicated this was not included in our room rate, so do check if you intend any self-catering. There are a number of shallow and broad steps down from the main piazza to the hotel; if you are travelling with many suitcases this may be a challenge but not too difficult. We found easy access on leaving by arranging for a taxi to pick us up from another point - less steps back up (ask the manager to arrange for you). Overall, a reasonably priced 3-star stay; Casa Caprile is a little shabby in places and could do with a smarten-up but we'd stay again.

A lovely hotel with friendly staff and a marvellous "wild" garden!!! The hotel was a clean and plain hotel, not extravagant, but fulfilled all my needs for a quiet hotel room in quiet surrondings, for relaxation. Despite being a comfortable, plain hotel with a good breakfast buffet, a few minor additionals would have been gratefully acknowledged, e.g. arm chair in the room, a small shelf for soap etc. in the shower, paper tissues in the bathroom. (I would also have appreciated a daily room-keeping service, but the lack was probably due to my habit of staying in bed reading or sleaping until early afternoon.) But I must give a warning: this is NOT for people having leg problem! It took about 80 steps down from the small piazza where the cab stopped to the hotel. Which also meant that there was very little traffic noise, and I had a large room with a small terrasse. Anyway, the garden had plenty of room for private relaxation, along the nice path bending it's way downhill through the garden. EXCELLENT possiblilities for walking around on the island, and Anacapri is far better than the more famous and jet-setted other part of the island, the town of Capri. My conclusion: A LOVELY HOTEL ON A LOVELY ISLAND!

I noticed only when I paid - I had 2 reservations with 2 separate prices for the room (1 night I booked earlier) - but the owner charged me the higher price for both nights.
