WestCord Fashion Hotel Amsterdam - Amsterdam

All in all, the hotel was exactly what we expected. the roompictures are absolutly the same as the rooms themselfs. when i go back to amsterdam, i definitly book this hotel again. the only problem was, that no tram-train drove after 00.30 o'clock.

Poor value for money. wish we had stayed else where. Parking for hotel guests is 25 euros per day (not mentioned to us when we booked) 12 1/2 euro local tax also not mentioned. came out of lift with cases and a vacuum cleaner was left accross the lift exit causing me to fall over it and hurting my knee as couldnt see it. The bathroom has a clear glass door and a male member of staff let themselves into room to sort TV channels out as my wife was getting out of the bath.

Take care of breaking into the car ! Do notleave any luggage in your car !

Excellent hotel, fantastic value for money. Great gym (small but top quality equipment) and pool, NOT suitable for children, just think of bringing a bath towel from your room to the pool and back, or you will have to rent one. Restauration is generally good but irregular. Breakfast is nice with fresh fruits, juices, pastries and hot and cold food, but I have seen better for this type of hotel. Pasta plates in the bar are good value, very tasty and filling. Metro/trains are a 10mn walk away, you can get a ticket at the reception. Expect 30 to 45 mn by metro to the RAI congress centre. No shops/restaurants in the immediate surroundings.

The staff took care of us quickly and was very helpful, nice, lovely to reply to any questions (about transport, ordering a taxi etc ...). It's a very safe place and hotel. It's a beautiful and new hotel where we can relax with the swimming pool, sauna and using leisure facilities.

Hotel was beautiful, no expense has been spared in its design. Staff were friendly and efficient. Skyy bar was great, and was very accommodating to my 10 year old niece, for whom the trip was a birthday present, making her her very own non-alcoholic cocktail. The hotel is much easier to get to than some reviews would suggest. From Schipol airport, get the train to Lelylan, (one stop) and then when getting off at Lelylan, go down the stairs to the tram, and get the no 1 or 17 tram, getting off at Surinameplein, which is the 2nd stop. The hotel is a 4 minute walk from there, and the trams come every 4-5 minutes. You can see the hotel from the tram stop, and you just walk past the police station, down some steps and through a short underpass next to the canal. Up a few more steps, then you are a minute away from the hotel which is straight ahead and marked by Westcord flags outside so you know you have found the right place. Tip - make sure you buy a return ticket for the train from the station, as there is no ticket office at Lelylan, only a machine which only takes coins, and nothing less than 10c.

Excellent cleaning staff. The hotel was a bit away from the Centre. You have to walk about 10 minutes to catch the tram line 17 or 1 and then from there another 5 minutes to arrive at the first canals. Generally the staying at this hotel was pleasant. Very large rooms. Excellent aesthetic hotel areas.

Very nice hotel. Lack of professionalism at the reception. They have given us the wrong room, we were three and they gave me a tiny bedroom. Only after they have solved the problem. Breakfast adequate but € 17 is definitely too many. The swimming pool is free, but the sauna is free of charge. I do not think I will return to this hotel

This is a very nice hotel. It is quite a way from the centre so you need to get taxis or tram everywhere. Bathrooms have glass doors so you can see right into bathroom from the room. Overall i was very happy with the hotel and facilities.

It is really good hotel with this best price. The room was huge for an Amsterdam city hotel. I will stay in this hotel if they continue offer this price..

The hotel is nice, modern and clean. The location is not great for a tourist but very good for a business traveller. However, our room was next to the bar and it was pretty noisy in the evenings. The competence of the employees was poor - very young, inexperienced and not very helpful. The assured free internet connection in the rooms was not true. On the 10th floor this was basically non-existant. I managed to log on twice for five minutes each time before the connection dropped and then I was unable to log on again. Room service was not good, let alone for a 4-star hotel. We went out the whole morning and came back at 14:00 to find that nobody had been in to clean. Then they came at 15:45 and the attittude was not as friendly as we would have expected. Prices at the bar and restaurant were too high.

The hotel and room were nice, but the staff was terribly cold and rude. The pool/spa area staff repeatedly made us feel unwelcome and were terribly inappropriate.

We had a problem in finding the Hotel Golden Tulip Amsterdam,we spent 40 extra minutes trying to locate the Golden Tulip - and it appeared to be THE FASHION HOTEL.
