Nice place not far from city centre. Rooms are small but not the smallest I've stayed before. Quite clean. One problem that, noises are heard from the corridor. But in general we had a good stay. Breakfast is ok.

Staff were really helpful, we had a double room which was narrow but adequate, the stairs are steep but there is a lift although we rarely bothered to use it. It has a great location with a couple of museums right outside, would recommend to anyone

Great location, near park, museums, high-class shopping, bars, canals... Our room was small, simple but pretty and like brand new. good breakfast. NB: Stairs of course a litte bit dangerous (like everywhere in amsterdam) Wifi doesn't go to the rooms; only near reception and bar.

Nice Hotel, Rooms seem to be renovatet a short time ago, the rest of the Hotel (floors, stairs, elevator) are not renovatet, so the first impression is not so good, but the rooms are very nice, clean and cosy. The room was small, but that did not bother us, we were out all day anyway. Breakfast is ok, but it is only inside and there are very nice restaurants in the area, where we could sit outside, so we did only eat there once. The Hotel is very near to the Leidseplein, were all the restaurants, bars etc. are. To the Tramway station it is onli 3 Minutes by foot...

Hotel Acro was situated in pleasant area very close to Museums. Rooms were very clean and bedlinen was spotless. Staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English. Lift sometimes difficult to work and winding stairs might not suit older people.

The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Any time we had questions, the front desk was happy to show us what we wanted to know on the map and instruct us on how to use public transportation. We were in the museum district next to great shopping, the Hard Rock Cafe and a number of other great spots. Be prepared to climb spiral staircase or wait for the elevator. The morning breakfast was tasty but since I'm not a big breakfast eater that wasn't an important point for me. My husband on the other hand was quite satisfied by the meal. Our room was quite small however, it's Europe so I didn't expect anything large but my husband did for some reason. I'm surprised given the amount of European traveling he has done but after I calmed him down and reminded him that we were not there for the room but for the city, he settled down. lol Overall it was a pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend Hotel Acro to others and return again ourselves.

I thought the hotel room was beautiful!! It was probably very cheap, though, because most of the hotel seemed to be under construction (the first two floors, not including the reception floor or the floor where we stayed--all that was decked out all nicely). I hope they are still under construction because I'd like to stay there again and the prices will probably rise since the hotel is quite nice. And the free breakfast was AAAMAAZZINGGGG.

We visited Amsterdam for 5 days and stayed at Hotel Accro. We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel as the directions on the website were misleading. Anyways we finally found the hotel and checked in. The room was typically Dutch as it was very small and very cosy. The bathroom was tiny and the sink was ridiculously smallbut clean. We didn't like the breakfast room as it reminded us too much of a high school lunch room. The location was fine at it is in the museum district just a stone's throw away from the major museums and also close to Vondelpark and Leidseplein. The staff were very friendly and very ready with advice on just about everything. Overall, the stay at the hotel was fine as we only slept and ate breakfast there - too much to see and do in Amsterdam to spend time cooped up in the hotel.

The Hotel Acro has very small rooms, but it's common in Amsterdam. On the other side, the rooms are very clean and with a closed shower (not so common in Amsterdam). The breakfast is good, the reception very kind and the location is very very central: only 2 minute by walk to reach the Rijksmuseum and tram stop, only one tram stop (or 20 min by walk) to Leidsplein.

First time in Amsterdam. Very good impression on the hotel. Very small rooms, but as single ones, good enough. Tough stairs to get to the upper floor, but typical in Amsterdam, plus a lift available. Perfect situation in the city in the museums area. Still in a quite street. Excellent welcome from the personal. Pleasant breakfast with choice. Would highly recommend this hotel at least for people of our age or under.

Traveled with my 8y. old daughter Hotel is in the quiet side street though location is perfect to discover Amsterdam. Room was clean though very small. Everything in this hotel is smal and narrow. No way 3 stars hotel. Definitely must be rated as 2 stars. Hotel requires proper renovation Breakfast - nothing special, bread, cheese, muesli, yogurt. Staff friendly and helpful Quality of the internet connection in my room was very poor

The location of the hotel in the Museum district is perfect! Leidseplein is in easy walking distance, walking to the city centre is possible (takes some time), but a tram station is also just around the corner. +++ The staff is friendly, the room was small, but very clean. Breakfast is OK, only the breakfast room is small and can get quite crowded, which is a little bit annoying. +++ Overall, the hotel offers great value for the price. I can perfectly recommend it, especially for people travelling on a budget. +++ I would also recommend to go swimming in Zuiderbad, which is close nearby: It is a very nice old pool with long opening hours, and they have whirlpools, which are great for relaxing after a stressful day of walking around in the city ;-)

My parents, my brother and I, we all met in Amsterdam for a nice weekend visiting the museums. This hotel has excellent quality for the price, friendly and competent staff and an exceptionally good breakfast. It's right next to the most important museums and not far from all the other main sights. Only complain was maybe that the streets were a bit noisy and the sound proofing isn't great, but nothing that prevented us from sleeping. All in all we REALLY recommend it.

Cheap and well located: museums are just outside and public transportation allows one to easily reach the city center. I would say that the hotel has a "youth hostel like" atmosphere from the offered standards point of view.

The venere system does not distinguish between double/one bed and double/twin beds. We reserved a 'double' but we wanted twin beds. The only available rooms were a single 'two-person' bed. Hotel and Venere need to have been shared definitions. The room was very small (even given the normal standards in NL) and I think overpriced. Our room was over the bar and it was noisy until about 1 am. The bathroom was nice - the shower worked well. Breakfast was standard. The location is very nice - a quiet neighborhood near Rijksmuseum/Vondel park.

The room was a bit small. Quite close to main museums. People at the reception were very helpful. The only thing I was bothered was the wall was so thin that I was woken up by next door's noise at 2am(even by smell of marihuana...) There were stairs at the entrance, which may make those with heavy luggages exausted. Breakfast, however, was fantastic!

We stayed during the Easter weekend, and even though the hotel is central and well located, the room was very small and the bathroom only had a shower and the toilet seat had no cover. The window wasn't designed to be opened and there was no air conditioning. Breakfast wasn't too good and fruit juice was 10% concentrate juice and 90% water.

I read both positive and negative comments about this hotel but my experience was definitely positive. I really think the location is incredible..its surrounded by a very large park and a short walk to the most important museums in Amsterdam. I rented a bike from the hotel for a modest price. The walls are thin as suggested in some reviews but I don't think the type of clientele they get here are likely to be a problem...they weren't for me. The staff were efficient (not overly friendly but that might be a local thing). The rooms were more than large enough for me but might be considered small by North American standards. I have already recommended the hotel to relatives.

Bagno con box doccia chiuso (no tenda), pressione dell'acqua ottima anche all'ultimo piano.

Acro Hotel is located close to many museums, in a very calm neighbourhood. Tramway is 2 minutes away from the hotel, allowing easy access to the center (although it is only 20-25 min away by foot). Service was ok, staff always helpful, breakfast buffet quite good, free & quite fast wi-fi access. Room is not big, but clean, and I guess you can't find much better for this price. The hotel is close to leidseplein, so 2-3 streets full of restaurants & bars are less than 10-15 minutes away by foot. Will definitely go back to this hotel.

Location was perfect, only a short walk to the Leidesplein, central canal belt, Vondelpark and most museums but in quiet, pleasant surroundings. The hotel room itself was small with basic decor, but clean and comfortable, a great base from which to explore the city. Security was good as there was a 24 hour reception and safety deposit boxes. Breakfast was included in the price, basic but lots of food available!

This was the first time that I stayed at Hotel Acro. The room and especially the bathroom was very small. Sheets were ok. Towels could have been newer. But they were clean. Breakfast was satisfactory, but nothing fancy. The location is perfect. Given the location and the price, I think it was a good choice. If you don't want to spend too much and be close to everything, Hotel Acro is a good choice. Of course you can find a better hotel if you are willing to pay more.

**** Fair value hotel, very good location at walking distance from leiden square. Personnel nice and caring. First of all, the hotel staff including every person we had the chance to meet during our 4 days were very friendly, competent and unusuallly helpful. A second advantage of the Acro is its location, a few meters from the museum plein, from the tram station and five minutes from a boat station on the gracht. On the other hand, rooms and furniture were rather shabby and not very clean. The so-called double rooms had two single beds of 80 x 190 cm that could not be put together (making sex an athletic challenge we were not really delighted of). Breakfast was all right, although we had better ones in other hotels of the same price level.

Great location, right by the museums and very close to Vondel Park. Dorm-like set up in the rooms. Small, basic amenities and very uncomfortable mattress. Our TV didn't work and didn't have a remote. Walls in the hotel were paper thin and we heard every noise even the guy upstairs using the toilet! I had a very difficult time sleeping with the mattress and noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend it or stay there again.

Acro is a very nice hotel and its staffs are very courtesy and helpful. Hotel is in a quiet museums’ area and commute to central of downtown is very easy, only takes a minute to walk to the trams stop from hotel. The breakfast is great and it’s included, you can also make a tour reservation right in the hotel. The only thing I felt little unconformable is there is no smoking or non-smoking room, but they will make an effort trying to get the smell out of it (it’s hard). I’ll highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again next time when I visit Amsterdam for the price and the service.

The only real down side was the small size of the room. my husband is quite tall and we found it difficult to move around in the room.

Key attractions and stimuli in the City are the sister museums called the RIJKS and VAN GOGH. The hotel is adjacent to both the museums and the arterial tram lines also. My experience of the accommodation in the spring of 2006 was that it was comfortable, clean and friendly.
