The Bridge Hotel is the perfect location for seeing most of Amsterdam on foot. The staff is welcoming and very helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much. I was travelling with my grandson who has celiac disease and he had no trouble finding breakfast at the buffet. He was delighted to find that every morning a covered plate of gluten free bread had been put aside for him. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Msjor drawback was the number of stairs to reach reception and then again to rooms. This hotel would be excellent if it had a lift.

This was our first time at the Bridge hotel. It is in a lovely location on the Amstel river and we were made very welcome by the efficient and friendly staff. Ample breakfast and only a short walk to great restaurants, shops and the centre.

The Bridge Hotel was in a perfect location for eating and sightseeing. Our room faced the canal and we had a little balcony to sit on to watch the canal boat traffic. Staff was extremely helpful with luggage as there is no elevator. Breakfast was excellent with many choices.

The only thing that surprised us was the lack of a lift. The two flights of stairs without help was hard with our luggage. The staff and the surroundings were excellent.

There was positively no value for the money. The rooms are small and the bathrooms even smaller. There is no elevator on the premises and the stairs are so narrow that you have to walk like Chaplin. There is not enough storage space and the only storage space was two lockers that we would not even place in a factory. Far better breakfast buffet at the highway motel around Naarden. The only positive was some of the staff helpful and nice. Over priced and over rated.

The location of the Hotel was excellent for us we has access to many forms of transport and were within walking distance of many of Amsterdams features. The hotel breakfast was of good quality and for evening meals the range of local restaurants was very good. the room was large and facilities were good and clean. Reception staff were excellent and provided good assistance and advice on what to do in Amsterdam

This hotel is in a lovely setting and the staff were very friendly and helpful. One of our party needed a room on the ground floor and the hotel had arranged that for us. The only downside was that the bar/communal area was not very cosy, but hey, with all those bars around who needed one in the hotel? It was a very central location and easy to reach all the important sites. The views from the windows were lovely.

nice spacious room, good breakfast service. great location. however very limited furnishings in room. 1 low table, 1 small desk, 1 stool. had to place luggage on coffee table. very limited power outlets. staff at check in was very helpful and friendly, while other staff appeared to be uninterested.

What a neat little hotel. Perched on the side of the Amstel, it could not have been in a more tranquil spot. The rooms were very good, we were fortunate to have a balcony where we could watch the world go by. It really is a hotel for all types, breakfast was plentiful and without doubt I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

luggage room accessible by everybody; new rooms seem to be in the back and are much nicer, but all rooms very clean. staff extremly helpful and supportive and friendly; no soap in the bathroom; overall: a very good place to stay and a convenient location; best for car travellers: leave car at P&R gasperplaas, take metro (~25 minutes) and walk 5 minutes to hotel

Friendly, friendly stuff. After booking I asked them about confirmation e-mail, and they immediately sent it to me. A good welcome gift - detailed city map, very useful. Free WiFi and free internet access from their PC. You can take an umbrella at the entrance in case of rain. Very, very quiet rooms. Mobile phones (we have two with different nets) worked fine at rooms. Hotel is placed near musical theatre, easy to find in the dark time - look for bright read letters on the top of building - "CARRE", easy to see from long distances. Time to get all sights - less then 15-20 min by walking. 2-3 cafe/bars (not cofeshops) in 1-2 minutes of walking. We stayed Nov 8-12, 2010 (on vacations).

I booked a single room in October 2010. Room and bathroom were very clean and quite new. Breakfast was good. Check-in before the specified time was no problem. Very nice hotel in a good location.

You go straight on to the end (roundabout/traffic lights) and when you see a sign "Centre" you turn right here. Then you go straight on. This street is the Wibautstraat. After the 3rd big traffic lights and before the bridge you turn left in to the Stadhouderskade and cross a large bridge. The first street you turn right and then at the end (the Frederiksplein=square) you turn right again in to the Sarphatistraat. Then when you have crossed the bridge you turn left and then you are on the Amstel. You will see the Carre theatre, the hotel will be next to the theatre.

From the Central Station you could take a taxi to the Hotel (appr. € 13,-) or you may take streetcar (tram) number 9. Get off the tram at Waterlooplein.
