We stayed for 4 nights during the installation of the new King and found the location to be ideal, with the Hotel just around the corner from Dam Square! Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, providing much appreciated information regarding sights, closures, and activities surrounding the festivities. The amenities of the Hotel were very good: included breakfast was very extensive and tasty, the WiFi worked well in the room, and the elevator was a real asset (one of the elevators was out-of-order for part of our stay, but the remaining elevator was operating). Lots of restaurants in the vicinity at all price ranges, and a grocery store is located within 2 blocks. Our room on the 2nd floor would have been very quiet at any other time, but the festivities of Queens Day made for an unusual amount of noise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rho, and would happily return there the next time we visit Amsterdam!

Good location, if you want a good night sleep, ask for a room over looking court yard. We asked to move which was done without a problem, as the room we had was over looking the side street, where bike rental place is, its very noisy at night due to people cutting thorough shouting, singing etc after their boozy night out! Reception staff very friendly :-) Breakfast was good tea, coffee, juice, breads, cereal fruits, eggs bacon etc

Rho Hotel just off Dam Square Is really good value for money. The position is excellent, the reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast is not to be missed. The enormous variety of delicious food items kept us going until dinner time, lunch was not needed. Have a look at the beautiful Art Deco reception lobby and learn about the building's history. Our room was exactly what we had asked for when we made our booking. We will be returning to stay at Rho Hotel before leaving the Netherlands.

Good hotel right in the middle of Amsterdam. We could walk anywhere. We were three people and although we were afraid of the size of the room it was actually big. Breakfast was nice. Did not have much variety but I wouldn’t ask for more. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Value for money. I would totally recommend Rho Hotel.

expensive for what you get. Free wifi didnt work in rooms (we had 2) and sporadically worked in lobby. No drawers in room, small closet. Room dark with all lights on. Tiny toiletries, bring your own. No foreign exchange 3 young adults in room might get money's worth 1 single @ 125 euro a night is too pricey Positives: great locale (off Dam Square) friendly and helpful staff bountiful breakfast

The room was adequate though it overlooked the street which was very noisy late at night so could not open the window which made it hot and stuffy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. 1 x couple and 1 x single,4 nights accommodation. It was the first time we stayed at Rho Hotel.

The hotel is one of the better ones I have stayed in, in a major city in Europe. I can highly recommend the hotel. The breakfast and breakfast facilities are in the top. One of the reasons for me to choose Rho Hotel is the car parking facilities available - though € 35,00 per day for parking can seem quite expensive.

Very conveniently located just off Dam square. Easy access to transport, shopping and attractions. Our "superior room" was quite spacious, although we found the bed samll and soft. We also found the room very hot for sleeping (it was July)- there is no airconditioning in the rooms although the passageways are airconditioned. Opening the window allowed a lot of street noise from neighbouring bike shop and bars (on Thur -Sat nights, other nights OK). Staff were very friendly and helpful - we had a problem with our room safe that was fixed within 5 minutes of reporting it to reception. Breakfast is included and has a good range.

Ours was a one night stay en route from a cruise to take a train to Paris but we found the Rho comfortable and good value. The position is good for travellers, right in city centre, and close to train station, though a bit too far to walk if you have a lot of luggage. We were impressed with the cheerful, efficient staff at reception. The gentleman whose name I cannot recall was most helpful at all times. A varied and plentiful breakfast.

The front desk staff are awesome and very entertaining. Unfortunately I had no WiFi in my room and my friends had very weak signal in theirs. The shower was also a bit weird - directly next to the toilet with the roof slanting down next to it so not good for tall people. Apart from that a very good hotel, will stay here next time I'm in Amsterdam.

These are not luxurious accommodations but they are much more than adequate. My friends and I had reserved two rooms with two beds in each for one day before our river cruise commenced and for two days at the end of the cruise. Both times we were upgraded to a suite for the same more-than-reasonable price as we originally had agreed to pay. The pre-cruise suite was fine -- two bedrooms (with two beds each), a living room, a full kitchen, bathroom with two sinks, toilet in a separate room, also with a sink, and a terrace. The post-cruise suite was even better. It had everything that the first one had plus a dining room and the living room was huge. We happened to be there for Queen's Day after the cruise, which is a very big thing in Amsterdam, and the hotel apparently needed our originally reserved two rooms more than they needed to charge us extra for the suite. The staff were very pleasant, competent, and accommodating. The breakfast was fine, not mind-blowing. No brewed decaffeinated coffee. The one downside to the suites we occupied was that we had to climb stairs to get to them. Two full flights to get to the second larger suite, which bothered some in our group.

Excellent location - right off Dam square which is a crossroads for multiple tram lines that go virtually everywhere in the center city. We stayed 3 days, Friendly english-speaking staff who are happy to help out with local touring. Happening area with many walkable explorations - with large variety of reasonbly priced cafes & restaurants... and wonderful night lights. And if the Queen is in the Palace (on Dam square), you can be sure there will be some pomp & ceremony.

Excellent location and kind staff, helpful and friendly. The room was extremely small, not very well iluminated, but it was clean and quite, and the bed was fantastic. The hotel for sure is an excellent place. Very much centrally situated. You can use the near by tram to go anywhere even if you have an address for some distant shop somewhere in Amsterdam, you can still do it. Wireless internet never worked for me, I guess week signal, this leads to the second disadvantage, I was upgraded to double room, but only because it was in an attic equivalent, so one of the room walls is actually encroaching on my head. Double was actually more or less like a single size bed for me! I traveled alone, and it was a great starting point for my activities and excursions every day. For families with kids and so, I don't recommend it. Staff will not offer much help of their own (like orientation, or maps..etc) but they are so much friendly and competent if you ask anything. I faced a problem when I locked my stuff in the safe, they helped me efficiently.

The Rho Hotel is located just off Dam Square and about a 15 minute walk from the train station. We arrived about 9 AM following an overnight flight and were able to check into our room immediately which was very much appreciated. Our room was a fairly large twin with a shower. It was comfortable, clean and well laid out. The only downside was that even though we were on the 3rd floor on the “quiet” side of the building it could still be somewhat noisy at night because of all the action that seems to focus on Dam Square. The hotel staff were all helpful and knowledgeable; the free wifi worked well; the breakfast buffet was absolutely excellent with a great range of items. For dinner there were many restaurants within easy walking distance in all directions from the hotel. We have no hesitation in recommending the Rho and would certainly return there ourselves.

Excellent hotel in the center of Amsterdam. Easy access for sightseeing, shopping and dining. Breakfast was excellent. I appreciate the ease of the commute from Schiphol and the short easy stroll from Centraal Station to the Rho. The only trade off is you will have more street noise, but being in the center of everything this is to be expected! This was my second stay in the hotel and I certainly look forward to my next visit.

Excellent location, although it's about 15 minute walk, not 5 minutes as it says on the web, from the station if you allow for crossing roads and luggage. Hotel Rho is a nice place to stay in Amsterdam, situated in the centre of the city. All important locations to see as museums, grachten etc. can easily be visited by tram or even by walking. The hotel itself is clean (except the one wash-basin in one room), quite and with a really comprehensive continental breakfast. The staff is very kind and act helpfully if you have any question (one young lady did not look to be very motivated). - For another stay in Amsterdam, we would choose the hotel Rho again.

An older hotel, but located nice and central for walking, shopping, restaurants, etc. in Amsterdam and easy to get to from Central Station after a short train trip from Schiphol airport. Rooms were clean enough and for the room I had large enough for my needs which were a small work space and a place to sleep after a long day on a plane. There was a bit of noise from the back alley, but then there are bars close by and that's to be expected. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. The beds are very soft and 2 people have a hard time not rolling into the middle. We changed rooms for the second night, hoping it would be a better bed. The hotel is located right next to Dam square , which is a large and busy tourist attraction. However, tram stops are nearby and it is very convenient and easy to move away from the busy city center and out into the outer canal rings. We enjoyed the great location but not the crowds surrounding it. The room was very basic and did not provide any extra comforts, but it was clean and spacious, including the bathroom. Bathroom disappointing: basin tap worn out and difficult to control flow and temperature, same problem with ancient shower mixer tap, which was not thermostatic. I encountered just two problems: scanty breakfast and chinks in a window frame. Not advisable for staying in winter.

We were in a triple room. It was large enough, and clean. True to the pictures and what was expected. Reception was very friendly and we rented bikes at the hotel both days. Good central location and walking distance to nightlife.

Rooms have no air conditioning so can be very hot. There was a large desk fan in each room which need to be on all night. Rooms reasonably quite with some street noise but the hotel is adjacent to dam squar so it not suprising. Breakfast was very good. Reception Staff very attentive

The RHO hotel in Amsterdam is great! Large rooms, nice and very friendly and helpful staff. But most of all I was satisfied with the location of the hotel - it's situated just in the city centre! I'd recommend this hotel to my friends and will look forward to coming back again!

The hotel Rho is well settled. Our room is big and the bathroom is new and clean but we have to be very carefull when taking shower in order to keep the bathroom dry. There is a little wall between those areas. During the summer time, I think this room will be hot because there is no AC system. Breakfast is well served and with a great variety.

Although slightly too near the busy Dam square for our liking, the hotel is surrounded by quiet side streets where there are many shops and cafes. Very central location. Loved the atrium! We ate most of our meals in the Leidesplein.

A very pleasant hotel within easy walking distance of the station, docks and many tourist attractions. The art nouveau ceiling in the lounge is stunning. The breakfast room was nicely furnished and welcoming. The food was of a high standard.

Good 3* hotel with an attractive atrium hall reception giving more character than the average comparable hotel. Centrally located. No problems encountered.

Excellent hotel with a perfect position in the centre of Amsterdam, just on Dam square. Really close to many restaurants and public transportation. Good and clean district of Amsterdam. Wonderful breakfast and free wifi in all rooms.

Great location, good rooms, good breakfast with GREAT coffee. have stayed there 20+ times in 10+ years... and the coffee alone, is worth the trip lol. And...it is one of the best locations in the town with access to everything!! BUT watch out for the garage fee... inflated over the last year.
