Marnix Hotel - Amsterdam

Ok place, but definitely no value for money. Basic clean room at exhorbitant price!

Very expensive for the services and the facilities offered. My advise is to avoid this hotel as possible.

The worst accomodation ever experienced: not working bathroom, dirty rooms, dirty blankets and towels, emergency exits not available, etc...The price is absolutely not appropriate to the hotel services (any!). Hotel to be deleted from any booking site! In the meantime avoid to book here!

Good place to stay, the people on the reception are very nice and friendly, we would come back to this hotel on our next trip to amsterdam. price is fine, room was with some more space. only the bathroom, which has to be used by more people was not regulary clean.

You get what you pay for,room was clean,breakfast was basic,but very well supplied and clean.Was interesting to be allocated a room,across a busy road.

Everything was perfect, the bathroom was clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast included was good!The location is absolutly perfect because there is almost in the city center, there are a lot of shops, pubs and restaurants in this zone and the tram is just behind the hotel. You can go to the city center walking (20 minutes)or by tram (5 min)but it is better to go walking because the way is very beautiful!

Marnix hotel was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. It was supposed to be a 2* hotel but in reality it was a hostel with -2*. The rooms were old, extremely bad furnished and dirty. They never came to clean our room- the rooms were a joyfull place for mice. The staff was not helpful at all and the breakfast was poor and lacking the basic rules of cleaniness. I would't recommend this "hotel" not even to my enemies. The only good thing was its location but eventually you have to return back to get some sleep!

Had some doubts about this place after reading other people comments, but was generally happy, If you are looking for a place to stay and intending to be out doing stuff all day then this is a reasonable choice. The room we had was small. We had breakfast provided, but it is not very organised, but it is only 20-25 minutes walk from the main Trainstation and 10 from Vondel Park and Van Gogh Museum.

I found a cigarette in the room; it was cleaned after. The room was never cleaned in 3 days and we had to make the bed. It's an hotel for alternative young people!!!

Good cost/benefit ratio. Close to main areas. I would recommend the hotel for someone who doesn't care for luxuries.

I think it is the worst hotel I have evere seen. First of all is not a hotel but a hostel. During the journey no one cleaned the room. There was no wardrobe, no shelf. The personnel is not able to be ready in case of emergency. My girlfriend was sick, the personnel didn't call an ambulance. when they called a taxi got us noises as it was waiting. I payed before to see the room otherwise I would never go there. Let me to suggest, if you are not a boy going to amsterdam only to be stoned, choose another place.
