Visiting Amsterdam for as part of European vacation we chose this hotel based on location and price. Not much around the hotel but lots of construction makes us think there is more to come. The fact that the hotel is new was nice. Good value for the price. Very close to the train station, practically connected. Only 10 minutes to Amsterdam City Center by train. Need better instructions about parking when arriving at hotel.

This was my first trip to Amsterdam on a short 3-day vacation and I chose the Inntel Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam based on the reviews of others both on this website (and other travel sites). I highly recommend this hotel! It's only a short 10-minute train ride to Centraal and the hotel is literally next to the train station, which is so convenient. The trains are generally very accurate on timing so you won't wait long to get to the city center. The hotel is brand new so everything is in perfect order, clean, modern and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I got a "double" room which in the Netherlands typically means 2 twin beds shoved together. It's just how it is there (no idea why). The breakfast buffet is pretty good (16 Euros) but if you want better coffee you should hit up the cafe (Paris something) next door (they don't open until 8 am though). Other reviewers mentioned finding breakfast at other places around the hotel but I never found them and everything is closed on Sundays so on that day you're better off eating at the hotel (unless you can wait to get to Centraal). If you're worried about being too far away from Centraal, don't be. It's close, you'll save money and stay in a great hotel so you can use those savings to sightsee!

BAD: No street signs indicating you where you need to temp park your car and go do the check-in. Currently, it's a war zone. I had read that this hotel provided free parking to their guests. When asking about that, they looked quite embarased and timidely tipped me how to get to their free parking lot (a few blocks away). I had the impression that their partnership with this private parking lot next door implies they must favor that 15 EUR/day parking solution so that the management can be pleased... ;-) Was in room 313 and I had a very poor WIFI connection -- quite inexistant, sometimes connected for 2 mins then none anymore). Despite I asked and complained to the front office, they just say, "please try again, we know it must work...". Good tho are the 2 connected PCs in the lounge. Not a very green hotel apparently as no leaflet or information sheet will ask you to help save our planet. Fitness room featured a biycle which has a screen and embeded software "out of sync" (in orther words, out of order). The area is heavily being reconstructed, so it's currently a war zone, work on the construction zone starts early (6-7:00) and may disturbe your morning sleep. It's the price to pay when you forsee how this area may be so pleasant when the whole work will be finished. B'fast much too expensive (16 EUR). You'd better step out a 50 m away and get something on a cheaper budget at the Delifrance (from 9:00). GOOD: Superb architecture for this hotel and adjacent buildings. I wondered if it's coz a unique owner or a guideline from the municipality. Nice room, well featured. I complain about the framed windows (to prevent people going away and down... ) but the window can only be opened vertically and only a few inches, not enough get fresh air. Nice fitness room (despite a minor pblm -- see above) Nice swiming pool Nice sauna + turk bath Dedicated staff, though not always efficient to some regards. Effecient well working basic

Nice tourist hotel and staff were very good. Good location close to Amsterdam and just at the Zaandam train station. Only downside is that the hotel group is building another hotel just across the road so the building works during the week were very noisy, very early. Hence the low mark on room quietness. At the weekend there is no work. I would definitely consider staying here if visiting the area again.

As I forgot to order a no-smoking room, I was given on my arrival a smoking room where the smell was unbearable. Fortunately, from the second night on, I was moved to a no-smoking room and my whole stay was perfect in this hotel.

Overall myself and my husband enjoyed our few days stay, however there was just two things we had a problem with, the matresses on the beds were quite soft and we would have preferred a double room rather than a twin room which was all that was available at time of booking, but if ever in Amsterdam again we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

If you are looking for good accomodation at an unbelievably good budget price you can find no better than this! We paid 79euros per night for the double-room 4* accomodation (the normal cost at the hotel is 185euros). Clean, secure room (with electronic safe), Satelite TV, shower/bath and towels changed daily. We had twin beds pushed together (the only slight inconvience) but this was not a problem when we thought about how much we saved by avoiding the central grotty city 2* hotels. Staying next to Zaandam Train Station, a fast and inexpensive 10mins train ride (2 stops) away from Amsterdam Central Station this was probably MORE convienent than staying at our originally planned Museum-Quarter hotel! Best avoid the Breakfast tho (unless you can afford 14euros each per day!?) and go to local shops instead. If I return to the 'Dam i'll certainly check this place out again!

Just wish that we were advised that this hotel was not central Amsterdam as this was not explained properly and we thought we were staying in the centre other than that we had a lovely time plus we were not informed that there was a protest in Amsterdam tht weekend against the government with 220000 people attending in Dam square. People should be advised of this. Kind Regards Manwara Choudhury

Excellent customer service at the hotel, rooms were clean, tidy and were perfect for the stay. The hotel is located outside of Amsterdam central and approximately 10-15 mins train journey away from the centre, although this was not inconvenient at all (because of the number of trains)it would have been nice to know this in advance. All in all, i would definately stay again. There is no need to stay in central Amsterdam (with central Amsterdam prices) if you plan to spend your day away from your hotel room in the cofee shops as I did....you have far more money for 'coffee'.

basically it was Ok, however there were 3 points I did not like: 1.The breakfast charge was 13.50 euro per person per day and in my oppinion it's deadly expensive, taking into account that you can get the same breakfast for 5-8 euro in Amsterdam and for the 14 euro to have relatively good dinner. Besides this value is not included into the room rate but going on top. 2.I've been harried up by room service to leave the room for cleaning when i stayed in a room up to 12 p.m.and that contradicts with 4*hotel rules 3. The hotel infrasructure does not comply with 4 stars level

We enjoyed our stay here. It is incredibly close to the train station and just 2 stops away from Amsterdam. The room was clean and the staff was accomodating. The breakfast is a little pricey, but good if you don't feel like searching for a place to eat. The free internet access in the lobby was very helpful and appreciated. On your website, there is a picture showing a swimming-pool and a fitness center at the hotel. We choiced this hotel for the swimming pool and were disapointed because there had no pool. The reception at the hotel checked your web site, and the hotel in particularly and constated the same thing: "You show a swimming-pool at the Zandam Tulip Inn Hotel" (netherlands) It's a shame because we trust to you.
