Excellent stay with my daughter in a twin room. Within everything we wanted but just off the main street to afford a quiet stay. Spotlessly clean and welcoming staff. We didnt eat there so cant comment on that. The only thing is the mini bar in rooms that seemed overpriced but you do have the choise of using it or not! Also very handy to have a fridge in the room (a quiet one!) Would recommend highly.

This hotel is in an excellent location close to the centralmstation, the canal boats and shopping areas. It is expensive but then Amsterdam itself is an expensive city. The rooms are spacious and quiet. As the hotel is in 2 different buildings you have to take 2 lifts to get to some of the rooms so is a little confusing. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is a bit bare with a poor selection of drinks.

This was a very nice high-end hotel. It was a bit more expensive than we usually pay for a hotel in Amsterdam, but it was much much nicer. We had been camping for the week before hand and were willing to pay a little extra for a night of down comforters and hot showers. We had a little trouble finding it on the map they provided off of the Venere website. Some of the smaller streets weren't named and I didn't get a detailed enough print out. But we almost literally stumbled upon it by getting into the right neighborhood. The rooms were spacious for Europe. And the bed was very comfy. Really appreciated the free Wi-Fi.

Room was clean and well appointed. Cannot fault the hotel except for the noise of slamming doors at night. For example - 10 door slams in 3 minutes ! This kept on until 04:00. Impossible to realx to sleep.

Heat is off when removing keycard. I love the location of this hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. I agree that the room was smaller than I had anticipated and that took a bit of getting used to. We were on the 2nd floor but it was quite a hike to get to our room--down 2 very long corridors. Overall, we had a great stay--I would recommend it to friends and I would stay there again. I did avoid the 15 euro breakfast that so many people had commented about on this site about not being a good value. I had one drink in the Lounge, a Long Island Iced Tea that cost 10 euros--which was also kind of steeply priced. I appreciated having access to the internet from the Lounge.

The location is grate. 5 min from central station and a few min to city center. However, the room is so small. It is difficult to open baggage since it is too small. Additionally, the hotel itself is very stylish. For some people, it is too stylish. In the room, there are huge photos of human faces and may not be relaxed.

I liked the hotel and I liked the location. It was very convenient to all that we did. But upon arrival, the street in front of the hotel was littered with cigarette butts and other trash and I felt like i was not in a very nice part of town. That may or may not be true, it just seemed that way.

The hotel room was a bit noisy from the streets if you open the windows, but then this is central Amsterdam. Get used to it. The Inntel Hotel is a very good corporate hotel that meets the needs of a corporate or single traveler. It is a short walk to Central Station and to all the tram lines. The restaurants in the area are good but not special, although had a heavenly bowl of vegetable soup in the 'Italians" restaurant to the left of the hotel entrance. I plan to use their other sister Inntels Hotels. Good stay.

Great location: near central station, red light district and dam square. In front of the hotel there's a terrace where you can have lunch/dinner at a good price. Also in the same street you can find other places to eat as well as a busy shopping street (with main stores like h&m,berskha,newyorker,c&a,...). The hotel decoration is really fashion, with pictures of people in black & white everywhere (also in the rooms). we've travelled a lot using venere hotels and this would be one of the best hotels we've stayed.

A good hotel in a convenient location just 5 minutes from Central Station and walking distance to most of the main attractions. I think the hotel was a little expensive but then again most capital city hotels are and particularly with the £ being so weak against the € at the moment. Staff were excellent and there was no problem storing baggage for us on both arrival and departure. Room was a little small although it was clean and modern. Mini bar items were extortionate as usual. On the whole I would recommend it as good base for exploring Amsterdam for a few days. The best value night restaurant we found in Amsterdam was next door - Humphreys. Reasonable food and wine with nice staff and a set menu better than most in Amsterdam a city not really noted for its cuisine.

Hello, I will try to be objective on that one. Minuses: -Nobody offered to bring our luggage to the rooms -The room happend to be situated in 1.2km walk-distance as we had to switch 2 different elevators to get to it, and the distance between them was quite long - not that i mind walking but not in the drunken nights. -There was cocaroach taking a walk everynight in the bathroom (which was mixed with the toilet). -An angry romanian(?) cleaning lady was given from us 20euros for the incovnience she had to clean a clogged drain after a drunk-incident finishing in a throw-up.Althought that she cleaned it herself and agreed she reported it to the front desk so we can be charged an extra 50euros for extra cleaning service. For a reward a 100eur perfume went missing + our room was ignored for cleaning the next 2 days by the room cleaning service. A Vertical window not able to be opened more than 10sm leaving the only air conditioning options to an ancient air vintilator which didnt even had remote control. No pay tv service available, only the hardware. The tv was set to so quite volume limit that we had to be dolphins to be able to hear something The canal system was not well set in the bathroom so in case some water goes out of the bathtub while u r showering (as there are no shower cabins) then u r doomed to walk in a water untill the next cleaning of the room (which as we were ignored for 2 days made us feel like we are in Venice with water everywhere). The whole hotel is looking old and not well mantained. Also i guess the darkness in the whole hotel combined with the bad weather(not their fault) creates feeling for depression for the people who are not under the influence of amsterdam's privilegues. No room service in the late hours. Horrible view, and not that much the view as beeing in ceneter of amsterdam doesnt gives you beach and palm expectations but the windows of the surrounding buildings were so close that if u dont have HBO in your

Stayed here Aug 21-23, 2008. Was quoted 135Euro per night for a "final cost to be charged of 180 Euro" (as it read on my Venere.com printout), but they added a tax of 12 Euros to my final bill. When I checked in, one receptionist said that it was a "tourist tax." When I checked out, the receptionist said that it was a "city tax." I even showed them my Venere printed receipt, but they insisted on charging it anyway. I booked 4 hotels with Venere during this trip, and this hotel was the only one that added more to the Venere.com quote. The rooms were clean, cozy, and secure. The interior hallways were somewhat drab and older, but only on the floors above the lobby. The hotel location is close enough to the city center and the train station that you can walk everywhere. Also, there is free computer/internet usage near the main lobby (2 computers). If you arrive at Amsterdam by train (from the airport or international rail), just follow these directions: Upon walking out the front door(s) of the station, you will have an option of crossing one of two very small bridges to get into the city. Go across the one on your right, follow that street until you get to a traffic light and city buildings. Continue straight on that street for about 500-700m and you will see the hotel on the left. You can't miss it if you stay on the correct street. A tram car drives up and down this street all the way to the train station.

The hotel is excellently placed - 5 mins from the train station, just off Damrak. The room was clean, the bathroom modern and fully working and the beds were comfortable. I really could find no fault with it. The only thing I would say is that the breakfast at 20 euros a day (16 euros with Venere discount) is somewhat exorbitant. Hence the breakfast room seemed to be empty most mornings.

Hotel should offer a continential breakfast option in addition to the 20 Euro breakfast. Many of us do not want a huge 20 Euro breakfast! Room was a good size with nice decor. Hotel staff was new and made check-in difficult. Other guests were loud and messing with our door around 3 am which made for bad nights' sleep. I would have thought a 4 star hotel would have had a quieter clientele. The required 50 euro deposit for the mini bar was an annoying and stupid issue. For just a tiny bit of snacks and water in a basket (not even in a frig), they were quite overprotective and "tight-wad"ish about it. Instead of just asking me if I had anything from it and then trusting my word about it, I had to wait at check-out while they went to check it before giving my deposit back! I've had way better service at 2 star hotels.

Since it was our first time in Amsterdam, i felt that the receptionist (she was a trainee) could have been a bit more helpful as we didn't understand what she was saying about where the car park was situated. Also, we felt the mini bar was very overpriced especially since most of the food and drink was out of date. It was also a bit annoying to find the cleaners banging on the door twice at 8.30 am in the morning when you're fast asleep in bed and don't have to be out of the hotel until before 12 noon. The hotel receptionist was surprisingly courteous and helpful. I have never been to Amsterdam, or Europe, before. The city itself seemed a little friendless (and it was raining, which didn't help). It was nice to have a great hotel receptionist to welcome us and tell us where all the best places in town are.

This was the best hotel I stayed at in Europe (I stayed in hotels in Munich, Katowice, Venice, Florence, and Milan). The room was very spacious as far as European hotels go. The room was also very modern and nicely decorated. I particularly liked that the wireless internet was free to use. Also, the room had a nice LCD flat panel TV which had a welcome message on it when I first entered the room. The hotel is perfectly located near the Centraal Station. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a stay in a higher-end hotel in Amsterdam without having to pay through the nose.

The hotel was nice and central in a quiet area off Damrak. It is quite new and the room we had was the superior double which we found relatively spacious although I would be interested to see the difference between the standard and superior doubles. I would recommend this hotel if it can be gotten at a reasonable price as it is safe, clean, quiet and central. We stayed for two nights and we would definitely stay again.

Fantastic position. Nearby all facilities, and in the centre of shop life. Rooms are not too big, but clean. I Think if I have the opportunity I will come again in Golden Tulip Centre

Perfect location, pricey though. Small rooms though the making facilites were fab, Just a little miffed that the porter did not take our bags to the room and we had to do that ourselves. An ideal location but the breakfast was too pricey and its possible to eat in such close proximity for a fraction of the cost. Would stay there again,

Great location but not as close to the Dam Square as the map indicates. Much closer to the train station which worked out even better for us.

The location of the hotel was excellent. There is a tram stop just around the corner. Also the restaurant Humphreys next door is great value for three courses for €19.95 and delicious. We did have to pay city tax of €6,72 per person and the residents bar was closed before 12 but overall a great place to stay.

We have been to Amsterdam many times and have found this hotel to be the best placed for shopping etc. We did have a slight hiccup when we checked out as they tried to charge us for using the mini bar, but when we explained we hadn't used the mini bar they were ok and did not make a fuss. Could not fault this hotel at all. Good value for money and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

I would definitely consider staying at the Golden Tulip Amsterdam Center again. Its location is within walking distance all the popular attractions in Amsterdam. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by.

In our room wireless connection wasn't reliable and the two internet points in the hall were always busy. Anyway we had a very good stay in this hotel.

My younger sister and I were traveling through Amsterdam for the first time and this was an excellent place to stay.Great location next to excellent food and just a minutes walk from Damrak, five minute walk from the Dam. Rooms were very clean, not a trace of smoke, excellent bathrooms and full-length mirror. I would stay here again and would recommend to all my friends.

Overall a good experience, though Venere was not clear at all on the pricing. Morning breakfast hugely expensive, and not included in the price of the room. A bit of cheating, I thought.

This is a good quality business type hotel and therefore somewhat lacking in atmosphere in what is essentially a party city. The room was fine with an extremely comfortable bed and excellent linen. I have two main issues. The reception staff were somewhat unhelpful particularly in respect of settling the bill. Despite written confirmation of costs, they attempted to charge me the full stay rate of 295 euros as a daily rate. The hotel was value at the full stay rate, certainly not as a daily rate. Also on the day of our departure, despite a 12pm check out time, the room maid attempted to clean our room from very early, - something not appreciated the morning after the night before. despite a request to reception, this continued all morning with 4 attempts to enter the room.
