The hotel was clean and quiet. But it was off season so I think that in high season may be more noise. The room was clean, the air in the room was fresh and the bathroom was very nice and spacious. The room service was very good. The room was at the last floor so you could partly see the city skyline. The hotel is close to central station and close to the Dam Square. You can easily access the Kalverstraat shopping area and the Red Light District in less than 10 minutes. Nearby hotel there is a tramway station. You have direct connection to Leidseplein and Museumplein in less than 10 minutes by tram. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

The standard room and the deluxe room has a big difference! The picture showed on the web is the deluxe room and not the standard room. The standard room is old and small, but clean, while the deluxe room is trendy and beautiful!

This was a very nice hotel in a great location. On the main road but didn't make it noisey in the room. Pleasant bars and restaurants opposite, not badly priced for the dam. Have been before but stayed in different hotels, best so far. Had requested seperate beds for me and my dad and the hotel hadnt realised this at first, however, the reception staff were very friendly and apologetic and before check in was complete they had booked us into a triple room instead as the twin rooms had all been taken - excellent service.

The rooms are clean and simple and the hotel is ideally positioned, being a short walk from the station, Dam Square just down the road etc. I stayed in two different rooms on my stay and would recommend the rooms on the street side of the hotel because the ones on the inside were incredibly stuffy, and the roads aren't that noisy, so all-in-all you get a better nights sleep. That aside, no problems.

I was offered an upgrade (for an additional 20 Euros a night) at check in and am glad that I took it. The room was spacious (by European standards) and otherwise I would have been in a room that had not been renovated. The best part about the upgraded room was that it shared no walls with other rooms, hence it was quite quiet. The decor was contemporary and nicely done.

The room was very small and located right near an elevator so there was always noise from the elevator and from people exiting the elevator. The room was very small and the beds were dreadful; very lumpy and so soft you could feel the springs poking you. I felt the price was too high for the quality of the beds, the noise and the room size. The hotel was well located though.

I booked a Standard Double/Twin room from 6/6 to 9/6. I paid €285. The hotel did not even provide daily breakfast which I think they should for that price I paid. The room & location is excellent. The room even has a bathtub. Transportation is good. Outside the hotel, there are trams & buses. Overall I am satisfied with the hotel.

the price of the room was too much for this hotel, the room was extremely tinny and the lights inside the room were very poor. However the location is excellent. Just one details: we ask for a nice room, (not an upgrade!) and they told that that because we booked by Venere and it was an offer they can give us the cheapest room they have. The breakfast is not included and cost 20 euros. I will not come book in this hotel again.

You won't find much better in Amsterdam at this price and location. They were not particularly friendly, however. I also felt that having the room ready by 3pm and requiring checkout at noon was a bit of a rip-off.

A nice hotel, very good location although it feels a bit close to the more "dangerous areas". If I go to Amsterdam in the future I will probably choose a hotel more away from the central parts of the city. It is overall a very nice hotel, but they charge €15 for breakfast so I really recommend to buy your breakfast outside instead. There are some really nice places just 5 minutes away. If you stay here, make sure to get a room with windows away from the big street. We had rooms with windows to the smaller street behind the hotel and it was very quite.

We had a problem with our booking as it wasn't made clear that we had chosen a non refundable/changeable booking. When I sent copies of the confirmation emails to the hotel, the staff there were very good and offered a refund and admitted this was a problem with the Venere website. Other than that, the hotel was ok for a short stay but rooms are v small and breakfast at 15 Eur is expensive. The location is excellent though.

When i booked the room, I make sure, I got a non smoke room when I get at the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre, so I wrote an email and asked a confirmation. I got the confirmation and printed the paper......my godness it saved my stay !! because the recepcionist when I asked a non smoke room he said no I cannot garantee it , so I showed the paper, then after few discussion, and showing the confirmation printed to the manager, they upgraded my room to DELUXE (??) and at list was not that bad smelling. But During the night even having the air conditioning turned off into the room, from the air circulation tube you can smell the cigars smaoke. For people that do not smoke, it's quite impossible do not perceive that !!

I was surprised to find that a deluxe star room was no bigger than a broom closet and our 3rd floor view was of an interior shaft right above a noisy air conditioning unit or some such machine. After one night we were switched to a larger room for the remaining 2 nights and this made a huge difference. It seems all the rooms are petite but quite cute and do not provide much privacy (swinging glass door to the bathroom which doesn't have a bath, shower only....) Way overpriced breakfast and internet....lot's of stuff in the area though so we didn't have to pay those exhorbitant prices. Good juice/smoothie place just round the corner. Hotel location terrific.Close to Central Station.

Great location, close to train station. Funky decor, quite small room, but good enough. Our early check-in request was not accommodated (11 a.m.) so it was tough to walk around Amsterdam for 3 hours with a jet lag. It may turn off people who've never been to Amsterdam if the hotel says that they are smack in the middle of the Red Light District, because it is. But the red light district is fun, safe, harmless, touristy, but not for little children.

The hotel is in the perfect spot, close to everything. Plenty of places around to get a breakfast , brunch, lunch etc. Because of its refurbishment the public areas and rooms are just great! Nicely designed interiors, spotless, non-smelly, quiet rooms (but during the working week there is a noise from rooms being refurbished, but not during weekends!) comfortable bed, tea/coffe facilities; funny bathrooms with glazed walls. We had a room overlooking the back (pedestrian?) street, 3rd floor, we could see a cat wandering on the roof-tops ;) They didnt complain about us living the room around noon every day; the only minuses is the lack of the mini-bar or just a fridge, and all the switches to all the lights that are located near the bed are exactely between the pillows, so everytime you move your pillow- you switch on/off something :D Definitely - recommended!!!

Just a few minutes away from the Central Station, with trams stopping outside the hotel, this is a good location for anyone who wants to have the city at their fingertips. Despite the location beside a main road, noise levels were not disturbing, even with the window open. The Star room (apparently a deluxe room) had a decent standard incl. air conditioning, though it was a bit small. The glass cubicle that is the bathroom was novel but otherwise up to notch. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel since it only offers a continental breakfast buffet. The restaurants and pubs within 50-100 meters of the hotel offer much more sumptious breakfasts (pancakes, full English, etc) for much less than what the hotel charges. I'll stay here again!

Very bad experience from our stay there, small rooms most of them overlooking the "inner yard " which is 3x3 m, the sink is in the room itself and separated only by a paravan from the bad. The cups where just dirty. The most disapointing was the BREAKFAST - advertised as French breakfast, sorry but the French hotels will be ashamed to serve this type of breakfast at a room price of 120 Euro. The food included in the room charge appeared to be only croisants or danish pastry ( only one type, not the two together ) with coffee or tea. And this " French breakfast" is served not in a dining room but in front of Reception, in the lounge, not to mention the people checking in and out at the same time. If you would like to have a proper food, of course is available but for the supplemented 7,50 Euro per person, vaucher sold by Reception. Nothing was mention about this at the time of booking, otherwise we would never book it. I am a diabetic and at the time of our first breakfast when we were surprised by what we have to eat I asked to speak to the Duty Manager or somebody else in charge. The receptionist told me there is nobody in charge until 9.30 am. And about my dietary requirements she offer free breakfast vaucher but only for me and I my wife wasn't able to join me in the dining room. Separated for breakfast is a very poor start for everybody's holiday. Huge disappontment overall. We are in the Hospitality business for over 12 years. I am a Restaurant Manager of a 4 star, 104 rooms hotel, my wife is a an Assistant Housekeeping Manager and we know very well what means Guest Service and Satisfaction. Nothing like that in Ramada, Amsterdam.

My friend and I had a superb stay at this hotel, the breakfasts were lovely and what a choice!. Room was small but comfortable, a bit noisy as our room was next to the lift shaft. There was also on-going refurbishment at the time of our stay, however it didn't spoil our stay and wouldn't hesitate staying again as long as the price was right!!. Situation of this hotel is just perfect for Dam Square and it's surroundings and for the railway station. Most of the sights of Amsterdam were within walking distance or just a quick tram ride away. Thank You, Venere for handling my booking!! Trish Brogan-Shaw.

We booked a 'double superior' room and the room we were given had less than 2 feet space on either side of the bed. The shape of the room was rather strange - the room itside being an interior room. The window, which was out onto a 'lightwell' gave us a view of a blank wall which was only a few feet away. If this room was what they class as 'superior' I am so glad we didn't book into anything less. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone on the basis of our stay.

This was really a nice hotel. There is a parking quite near (app.€ 37,- per day) and it is situated directly at the red light district and not too far from the train station. there is a streetcar just in front of the hotel. The staff of the hotel was very nice, they looked for our lugage and as we asked for a address they looked it up in the internet and told which streetcar to take. the room was good equipped. the bathroom had bathtub and toilet and there was a space in front with washbasin, hairdryer and a closet (there is only 1 closet so it is better for short stays as we had). there is also a safe to rent, a water digester (tea and coffee) and a tv. the hotel is also very safe - you get a chipcard with which you can open your room doors and use the elevator. the only thing which was not good was the expensive breakfast with not much choice - it is better to go in a cafe or so nearby, it is better and cheaper. all in all in was a good hotel and i would go there again.

Excellant service, staff very friendly and helpful. Location perfect and price great. Did not realise there was a 5% city charge on top of the internet price that as quoted (however this worked out to only a couple of £'s extra) Would definately stay again and recommend it to others looking for affordable, AND great quality accommodation.

Hotel in centro ma le stanze sono piccole, forse caratteristica comune a molti hotel in città europee

NICE HOTEL WELL LOCATED NEARBY THE STATION. GOOD BREAKFAST BUT A LITTLE EXPENSIVE. AN IMPORTANT DISADVANTAGE IS THE NOISE CONCERNING THE ROOMS WITH VIEW ON THE STREET (NO SOUNDPROOFING), BOOK ROOMS ON THE BACK.

There is no name "Ramada" outside the building, so in order to find the hotel easily, you may watch the name "AMS Amsterdam City Centre".

As indicated above, the Hotel was excellent, in a very central location. The room was very clean and the staff both curteous (as you would expect from the Dutch Nation) and knowledgeable- (they were able to recommend an Indonesian restaurant in Leidersplein that was excellent) Only two small hic ups - The hotel name was not as advertised on the outside of the building ( I gather this hotel was a recent aquisition and the signs had not been changed at the time of our arrival) and though we had ordered a double bed we had two singles. We would use the hotel and booking agency again.

The hotel was in an excellent location near all the main sites but I would still not recommend it to anyone. The staff had very little knowledge of the tourist attractions and they certainly need a course in customer service. Don't ask any questions if you stay in this hotel! The room was too warm (probably +30c). We had the window open all the time with freezing temperatures outside but could still not avail of the sheets on the bed. We were constantly dehydrated. I don't have any other hotels to compare with but I will definitely chose another hotel next time I'm going to Amsterdam.

Very good hotel for the main attractions. Great price for the city centre and the rooms although small, were modern and clean. Don't be put off by the dodgy decor in the corridors. Breakfast is a bit pricey but you are so near to everything, have a lay in and grab some breakie in the city!

we arrived early around 11.00am hoping a room would be available. The staff were welcoming and helpful in advising us that the offical arrival time was not until 2.00pm,however we were allowed to leave our luggage and do a bit of sightseeing returning at the allocated time. There were no difficulties checking in but at breakfast the next morning we were asked for our "breakfast tokens" which we had apparently not been given at check in. I had tried to explain to the breakfast waiter we had booked B&B but it was not until i produced a copy of the e-mail receipt showing our board confirmation that this was eventually resolved and we we allowed to have breakfast and furnished with tokens for the rest of our stay. In general the rooms are very clean but hot in the summer. The location of the hotel is very good only a 10 minute walk from centraal station, close to tram stops and central Dam.Our room looked over a main street and was noisy with cars and trams rattling by. i would use this hotel again.

It was great - the staff were friendly and professional. The room was huge and very clean and comfortable. It was located on one of the main streets, but was still quiet and felt safe.

This 3* hotel was not in my opinion up to the same standard as a 3* Dublin Hotel. The decor was very dull and and old fashioned. The triple room was extrememly cramped and when we enquired about gatting an extra fan we were told no.For a room only basis I did not find this hotel good value. The staff were however very friendly and effiecient.

The email sent from the hotel to confirm the booking, stated that breakfast was included in the price and we had a double bed room booked. But when we checked in we were told that breakfast wasn't included and what room would be like. The reception staff sorted out the breakfast as soon as I showed them the email.
