It's a very nice hotel, altough not very close to the center. If you're with your family, it's a nice stay, but if you're in couple or with friends, I guess you could find something a little bit more close to the center, even if you have to stay in not so nice acomodations. The staff was very helpful, even if they didn't speak english. We had a problem with the blankets, but the cleaning lady was very nice and solved right away. If you're in FOUR PERSONS, DON'T BOOK THE EXTRA LARGE ROOM. It's more expensive and isn't as good as the Large room! The XL room is in a isolated part of the hotel, and smells like it hasn't been used in a very long time. BOOK the LARGE ROOM, make SURE that it is in the same building as the restaurant, not in the annexe. I hope you like it!

Ideally situated to access the centre of Amsterdam and the route to the ferry port. The hotel is bright and a little quirky with the cows and art. The room similarly was quirky with the bathroom a glass cubicle. Beds, furnishings and surroundings v comfortable. The area is being regenerated however the local brown cafe is well worth a visit before it is 'improved'.

We suggest this hotel because you can reach the city center with the bus (the stop is just in front of the entrance). The price is good, but you can have breakfast outside (in the center there are many possibilities).

This hotel is pleasant inside, and the rooms are lovely, but the surroundings are mostly industrial and it is not really walkable from central Amsterdam. The see-through shower room isn't suitable for non-couples or the shy!

The hotel is quite good: average-size rooms, clean, quiet. The staff is kind, and the bar at the hotel is really nice. The problem is that there are no restaurants, shops, bars at the hotel surroundings. The hotel itself is "far" from the city centre, but it's true that it takes 10 minutes to get there by bus (stop in front of the hotel). If you don't mind being a little apart from the centre, the hotel is highly recommendable.

Very modern hotel some 10 minutes from the city by bus. We had a beautiful double room which was huge (by European standards) and very clean. The staff were helpful and roomservice was great although the breakfast was a little pricey. Great for a romantic getaway!

This was a nice clean and modern hotel for a good price. I was pregnant and my main criteria was a good nights sleep. There were no banging doors which is always good. Its approx. 2/3 miles from the city centre and the local bus service is good and only 1 minute from the front door. There is a restaurant and bar food. The bar food was adequate. As per most hotels, the food wouldnt be winning any Michelin stars though! far better to go into town. 15 euro for a continental style brekkie. The cafe opposite the main train station does fab omelettes and bacon and eggs, if you can wait til you get into town. Overall I was happy staying there.

Stayed in the hotel for 1 day because friends were marrying close by. Venere was the only site where we could still book a room in this hotel, which was closest to the weddingsite. Hotel was excellent, site was excellent.

Despite having pre-payd in full, we were reminded by a very uncorteous receptionist that there were taxes and othere duties to be payd. Our room was tiny, to the point that there was not even a small night table close to the bed. Hotel is far away from center and the price far too high for the quality and service offered

I wanted to go and spend the we over at Amsterdam with my family. The city was fine, but this hotel is quite far away from the center. The hotel is lost in the middle of nowhere, facing some industrial facilities. The access to the hotel are manually operated which gives a bad feeling about the security of the area (and would be easily improved by using the smart cards provided for the room's door). The facilities are modern but lack the touch of personnalisation you would expect from a hotel of this class. The employees are "nice" but not so helping (directed me in the wrong part of the hotel when I arrived - nobody caring to take care of the luggage, got me lost in the search of a chocolate shop on Eastern).

I filled 1 in "Type and number of available rooms" because at 12.30am, when I arrived at the hotel, they told me:"your room will be available in 1 or 2 hours, would you wait for it?". I needed my room soon, so I had to pay the difference for getting a larger room.

We had a general good time in Tulip Art Hotel. The large rooms were exactly as described in the website, spacious and quite clean. The atmosphere is nice, and the provided services are fast and correspond to the website (prices, free wi fi internet, ironing, room service : perfect !). However, I have to relate some bad points that could be improved for a real good trip in this hotel : - we were in the new part of the hotel (right side from outside). This part is stuck to a swimming pool that doesn't belong to the hotel. On friday there was a big salsa party there, until very late (1am). We were very tired but couldn't sleep because the noise was too loud, even on the 2nd floor ! I had to complain 3 times to the reception to make them stop ! I think that they couldn't do anything because there was no changes after my complaints. And we had to wait for the party to finish so as to sleep. - the air conditionned can't be controlled by the room. Only by the reception for all the rooms ! We had non stop a cold stream over our bed, this wasn't very pleasant to be cold during the night. - the website is wrong about the buses : there is no 49 line. There are 2 buses between central station and the hotel : line 22 (but the stop is 500 meters from the hotel, you have to walk along the river so as to reach it) and line 48 (stops just in front of the hotel, but they pass every 30 minutes only). - the rooms were cleaned very quickly and badly according to me. when we arrived, the toilet seat was covered of p--s ! and one day, when we came back to our room in the end of the day, our underwear that was lying on the bed was just on the floor in a corner ! If you have an unlimited bus ticket, and if these problems can be solved, this is a good place to stay.

Although we requested a non smoking room we got a smoking room. But to compensate the hotel upgraded us to a suite, which was fabulous. A little stale smelling at first but we got used to it. Hotel bar was a lot of fun. There are two bus lines that go into the center and it takes about 15 minutes. You have to wait up to 20 minutes for a bus, however, on the weekends. Still, considering what this quality of hotel costs in the city center, the 'commute' was worth it.

The hotel was a lovely place to stay it is not exactly in the middle of amsterdam but there is the no49 bus that goes from straight outside the hotel and stops at central station. The bus is very regular about every 10 minutes and every half hour on sundays.not too inconveinient. the taxi's should only cost 12euro.the resturaunt was lovely, slow service!well thats everywhere in amsterdam.should really have an indoor pool.Holland is too cold for outdoor pools, especially if your staying there in November.

Fine hotel, clean, modern, nice restaurant, exactly as it says on the website, however the map is misleading, you need to get a Taxi to it the first time as its about 2 miles from central station, alternatively get the 48 or 49 bus which stops directly outside the hotel. Once you are familiar with the buses then its an excellent place to stay.

This is a good hotel and nice and modern. It is clean and the rooms are nice. It is a bit outside of the main part of amsterdam. If you are thinking of staying as it is a cheap option you need to consider that there is no breakfast included, a city tax on top of the quoted price, plus 12 euros for a taxi between the station and the hotel one way (can be more if going from centre of amsterdam).

This is a nice hotel, though it is not situated in Dam-Central Station area at all. It is 10 min by bus (but nevertheless convinient, bus stops in front of hotel. On Sturday evening the bar was quite full, and the barman did not pay ANY attention to us, regardless several remindings. His answer was "I am busy", and waiters from the restaurant were vwry helpful, not letting us die from stervation.
