Construction works in the house next door and related to those works a noisy machine outside

A pleasant hotel with fresh modern interiors. Not quite as 'boutique' or 'designer' as the website would have you believe, though. The single rooms are ridiculously small, although mine did have a decent size balcony and bathroom. Service extremely friendly. One annoyance -- since I was checking out at 5am in the morning, I was offered a 'breakfast box' to take away. The person organising this clearly had no idea what he was doing and after 30mins of waiting my breakfast never arrived and I was slightly late getting to the airport.

I stayed in Hotel V for 4 nights. Room is extremely small (I've never seen such a small room, my home bathroom is larger), and is not quiet (I could hear people talking in other rooms, when they flush their toilets etc). Table in the room is so small that you cannot even put your laptop there (to do that you have to remove the phone and flower vase - problem is that there's no floor space to put these anywhere). There's no shower basin, so after the shower whole bathroom is flooded. Staff is generally very friendly. Breakfast is rather OK, but cold. Staircase is very steep and narrow so if you have any problems with heights and/or walking, choose another hotel (no elevator here). Really. This hotel is only good if you're extremely tired, and just want a (one!) night sleep. No longer. And prepare to be waken up by other hotel guests.

Upon arrival I received a key of a tiny single room, just the size of a cupboard. I asked for a bigger one, I had to pay 11€ more and got a double bedroom. The hotel is pretentious in decoration, which may look good on pictures but in reality it is of very poor quality. The shower is uncomfortable. Everything looks and feels cheap. The wallpaper is covered with traces everywhere, in the rooms and on the staircases. They desperately try to be trendy. The service is very bad, you need to pay your room in advance, and at breakfast there is a self service with not so fresh coffee. There is a possibility to get a fresh one, for which you need to pay extra according to the displays. But there was no personnel around to take an order.

Most fantastic unusual breakfast, better than in much more expensive hotels!

Hotel V is in the middle of no where. The rooms are cheaply renovated, looks like cheap ikea products. Not good value for money at all. The public areas were great, employees were very nice and helpfull and the breakfast was lovely.

the hotel v is run by very nice welcoming staff and is very adequate for a short stay in amsterdam , half an hour walk to dam square but well served by trams , all in all very good . the only gripe is we were charged more than quoted , be it only 20 odd euros but its the principle . can recommend though , lovely breakfast as well

Non-smoking rooms or floors would be a welcome addition.
