Very shiny conference centre (which appears to be their main focus) with a bit of an older, oddly architectured hotel bolted on. Room was nice, but some things were a bit odd: fake goldfish in fishbowls; no direct hallway from registration desk to room, even though on the same floor. Etc.

The only negative comment I have was the lack of a bell-man to help with luggage when we arrived. I was with my elderly parents and had lots of luggage for a two-week cruise. It's a large hotel, with long corridors and a confusing layout. (However, I did see a bell man the next day). Our room was a triple, very large, very basic amenities (no clock0, comfortable beds, clean carpet in our room (but public hallway carpets were spotted and stained). Food and service in the restaurant at dinner were great. Bus to/from airport was on time and a welcome free service. We had to pay 15 euros to check-in early, but since we arrived from an overnight flight at 800 AM, it was worthwhile.

This is a very nice hotel if you are driving around Amsterdam. The pool was very nice and the price was good for what they offered. I didn't like that they wanted to charge very high prices for the TV and WiFi Internet. Overall, I recomend this hotel if you are driving or if you need to sleep near the airport and access the airport shuttle.

Extra charges for everything. City tax was not included in the price. We expected it to cost 125 euro for a quadruple room, and it ended up being about 150 with all the extra charges. It cost an additional 15 euro for us to check in at 12:30 rather than 2, even though the room was available, otherwise extra euros to store our baggage, really expensive internet charges, and breakfast not included. We stayed here on a previous visit, and then the breakfast WAS included, and was sumptuous. But for our party of 4, it would have cost us an extra 60 euros ($90!!!!!!) to have breakfast. We decided to skip that. Surprisingly, they did not charge extra for the shuttle bus (except at night) Overall, a disappointment, and we would not stay here again.

Good value for your money. The only obstacle is the distance to the Airport and from there to Amsterdam downtown (total travel time approx 45 min by Hotelbus and train)

This is definitely a business / tour group / congress kind of hotel, not a boutique hotel. It is right on the A4 highway to Schiphol, not near the seaside, a city, or the like. Having said that, it is absolutely a four-star hotel in every way. The service was impeccable. I was upgraded to a luxury room which was delightful - but I think that even a standard room would have met four-star standards with no problems. The dinner in the restaurant was absolutely worth the price, and the breakfast is outstanding. The shuttle to and from the airport is convenient and always on time. The pool was not open, only because they are currently putting in a wellness center. I would definitely stay here again for an airport stopover.

Hotel was very nice, and the staff were very warm and friendly. Well worth the price of 75 Euro for a Double room. Easy commute into Amsterdam Centraal Station via the free airport shuttle and metro from the airport into the city. The only downside was having to pay to watch TV in the room (extra charge) and a little bit of noise from the aircraft taking off from Schiphol. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

+ shuttle allways on time! - cleanliness: room was not 4star-like, the balcony was really messy and was never cleaned during the 5 days we stayed. - TV: No free TV for germanspeaking people, only Japanese, Chinese or English. - No roombar (fridge) - The doors are very loud when shut closed. You hear the slamming the whole night. - As we checked out, we missed a thankful expression for being your guests. + the breakfast buffet was very rich, the floor was quite dirty and sticky.

Only problem with the hotel stay is the lack of information about the full name of the hotel which caused us much delay in getting to the hotel. All the info I have and that which is on the board at the airport, lists the hotel name as Hotel Schiphol A4 and doesn't include the name Van der Valk which is on the van that picks up passengers at the airport. We waited over 2 hours in the cold for the van. It came and went. It never had the name, Hotel Schipol A4. We missed a tour of the city because of this inconvenience. We arrived so late to the hotel that we couldn't get up in time for a city tour.

Nice hotel. Though the price is not 'too' expensive compared with other hotels in downtown Amsterdam, I still think the rate is on the high side. This hotel is far away from downtown and has nothing to do in the surrounding. You have to take into consideration the daily transportation cost to and from the hotel.

The hotel itself was very nicely arranged. We had a great room located near grass for our dog.The bathroom shower and tub faucets could have worked better, but overall the room was spacious and clean. We had a glitch at the beginning when the hotel didn't have our reservation from Venere. Luckily they still had the rooms available and the staff handled the situation very smoothly. The transport to Amsterdam via the airport shuttle and train was also simple to use and very practical. We didn't eat at the hotel, but the restaurants across the way on the freeway were fairly priced and filling.

The hotel is nice but it is far from town for those without a car, inspite of the shuttle service. There are several nice restaurants in the vicinity, and a few things to do at the airport/train station (where the free transport drops). The hotel has a nice lounge and a fireplace.

Convenient location if travelling by car for visit to Amsterdam and surrounding areas, such as Zandvoort, Vollendam, Marken etc. Hotel was good, room great with jacuzzi bath and swimming pool nice as well. Breakfast were full buffet and good value at 15 euros each. Car Parking free. As an airport hotel occasionally reception full of coach load of passengers. Motorway service area in walking distance and as well as BurgerKing there was a good variety of all types cuisine available, pizzas made in front of you, steaks and chicken cooked freshly. Stayed for 3 days and would go back for longer as a base for travel throughout Holland

We stayed in the hotel as we transited through Schiphol Airport (arrived in the evening and left in the morning). The large, free hotel shuttle was easy to access and traveled frequently. Our quad room was one of the largest we have had in Europe. A walk across the parking lot takes you to a food court area (Burger King, KFC and a few more nice looking sit down and eat type places) that is built across the highway. There is nothing else in the area except for agricultural fields. We will stay at the Schiphol A4 the next time we transit through Schiphol.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel compared to what you get in Amsterdam for the same price. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport. I would consider staying here for longer if ever I have to go to Amsterdam again. The trip by train to central Amsterdam is fast and not to expensive for staying longer than the night before a flight.

Positive: very nice, luxurious, peaceful, perfect breakfast Negative: only small things. Equipment of the rooms was poor. no toilet brush, no minibar, no place to hang the towels. Location: too far away from the city and the airport. Shuttle was excelent, but only every 40 minutes, it took us almost 1 hour to get to the city center.

The hotel is easily accessable by car and has a perfect bus shuttle connection with the Schiphol Airport (every 40 minutes). The ride to Schiphol takes 13-14 minutes (and not 5 as stated in one of the comments). Our (family) room was *very* spacious. The only complain we have is that the room service was switching on the air contitioning each day ignoring our notes to leave it switched off.

My flight was a late flight, so I arrived at hotel approximately two hours after the so-called "regular arrival time." The hotel literally kicked my girlfriend and I out of the hotel at 11:30PM stating that they already sold the room we reserved and confirmed. The rule was no where to be found in our confirmation email, and we were forced to try to find a place to stay for the night. What is even more upsetting is that while we were on the shuttle back to airport, we chatted with a hotel employee from the reservation division. We told her about our situation and she was totally surprised, because she said, the hotel still has empty rooms when she was leaving work. Albeit those are not in the same price range as the room we reserved, we were not offered those rooms nor inquired our interests at mid-night for god sake. Absolutely pathetic service.
