When my wife arrived to check-in to our Delux Room, she was surprised to be shown the way toward the basement. The room was literally underground with a window that looked at the feet of passersby... When my wife refused the room, she was told that the only room they had 'above-ground' was very small. Indeed, a double bed and not even a lounge chair could fit in the room. Oh well, they promised us a better room for night 2. I went to make myself a coffee in the room's Nespresso machine only to find an already opened sugar packet and sugar all over the tray -- housekeeping? Then there was breakfast. As mentioned by others previously, the hotel breakfast area can only sit about 12 people -- the rest have to wait. And yet the waiter makes no effort to greet you and help you understand the situation. People just stand there wondering if there are other tables somewhere else they don't know about.... When we did sit down, the service was terrible. The first words the waiter said to me after we had been in the room for 10 minutes already and I asked for a cup of tea was "Wait, I'll be there in a minute". Lovely... What more? No remote control for the TV in the next room, heat that was either too weak or too strong, housekeeping personnel in the hallways that make absolutely no effort to greet you when they see you, wrong instructions from the front desk, need I go on? The decor and amenities of the hotel truly are lovely. Nonetheless, the bad service killed it for us. We were happy to leave.
