Stayed in this hotel in December 2010, Hotel was much as described, we just wanted somewhere to put our heads down so done the job. Rooms were warm and reasonably clean, stair case was a bit dodgey but we had a laugh about it(all you could do really), overall this hotel is ok if you just want somewhere handy to centre and are not too fussy, we had a great time while in Amsterdam.

This hotel has only one thing going for it - location. It's close to the Central Station and in a good neighbourhood. Other than that, not much to recommend. Smallest room I"ve ever had in my life with no services. That means no room cleaning in 4 days I was there, soap dispensers were empty in floor WC and shower, lumpy bed mattress, fire alarm went off for almost an hour but there was no fire. The price for the large walk-in closet that was my room I guess was good for Amsterdam. Again, the plus is the location.

This place is fine. You get what you pay for so it certainly isn't luxurious, but it was clean enough and we were dealt with courteously and efficiently when we arrived. It was a bit noisy out in the street and it was basic, but it would suit people that aren't too fussy and only intend to use it as a place to crash.

The receptionist had had a bad day and we wore the brunt of it. She did not have our booking - it was good we took our confirmation with us - the people before us were having a similar problem. It took nearly 40 minutes to check in, and 12 hours and 3 requests to get towels. There was no soap in the showers and there was no more to be had. We had to pay cash on arrival and could not get a receipt as the computer was "down". Other than this the stay was very good. Location was excellent. No breakfast, but plenty of outside options.

The location of the Hotel is great! It is directly in the "Jordan", which is one of the nicest districts of Amsterdam. 10 Minutes away from the Central Station and 15 Minutes away from the redlight district. The Lady behind the counter was unfriendly, but the rest of the Stuff was quite nice. The rooms in generally were quite clean, but the sheets on the beed were over and over sprinkled with dirty spots (I dont wont to know in detail which dirt it was). After my complaint I received fresh sheets. The shower in the third floor had mildow on the ceiling, because it had no Window. So all in all it was not bad - I allready had rooms and hotels which were worse.

La habitacion muy ruidosa. No nos arreglaron la cama al dia siguiente. El precio es alto para la atencion y los servicios dados. Creo que se puede conseguir algo mejor por igual o menor precio.

I have stayed at a number of budget hotels (aka hostels) and I am generally not quite demanding when it comes to simply having a bed that you can rest for a few hours. I've traveled all over the world and am aware of the trade off if you want to stay at a cheap place in Europe. However, for the money I paid for this place (around $130 per night), this hostel was beyond my tolerance. (Even the hostel in Paris was cheaper and much much nicer and cleaner and with own wc and a shower). I wouldn't go back to this hotel again. And they charged me 20 euros more than what I was quoted on venere when I booked the room.

Pros: location; reasonable staff with good English; low price; 24-hour staffing at the entrance; decent cleaning of rooms and sheets. Cons: loud noise; tiny rooms; no breakfast; toilet and shower may be on different floor; somewhat dangerous stairs; no room cleaning during stay. Some good details: A young lady employee answered my request to change floor and walked up and down to get the key. Another lady listened to my complaint about a whole on the window and left notes for coworkers to switch me to another room next day (and they did). Some bad details: The single rooms I had were about 2.7 X 1.9 meters (or 9 X 6 feet) large with a tiny wash basin. Most windows have a round ventilation whole (R=14-15cm) on the glass pane which lets in much street noise, and thin walls let in building noise from all directions -- using ear plugs was needed for me. A bath towel is given on-demand. Soap only in the shared toilet and shower rooms. Steep stair steps are too shallow for any adult foot; one might fall down if not careful, especially when the hands are burdened with luggage.

We stayed 3 nights in a double room with shared toilett and bathroom. The room was quite small. The bed was old the coverture dirty. On the other hand the shower was full of mildew. We kindly ask the personal to take a look and clean - the only thing we got back was a impolite reaction. The other unusual thing was that we had to pay in advance. if you pay by Credit Card they charge you 5% of the amount. This is the first time I have seen something like this. I do not recommend this hotel to other people.

The hotel was located in the midst of the city and I had walking distance to the shoppingstreet, museums and cafes. The hotel was quiet and clean, not luxurius but totaly okey for a stay and cheap enough to visit on numeros Amsterdam-weekends!:)

Horrible hotel. I was bited by many inserts in the bed, and the quality of the beds is very bad. They didn't change the towel nor sheet during our stay. We should pay a guarantee of 20€ for the TV control. The walls are so thin that we can hear everything of our neighber. But I know, in Amsterdam, this hotel is not the only one who's dirty and expensive.

Do not stay at this place. THis was the worst hotel we stayed at in our 3 months in europe. To start off with. The room we were given was the filthiest most disgusting thing i'd even seen. The plaster was peeling off the wall, there were cracked mirrors everywhere, there was what appeared to be a diarrhoea stain on the floor! breakfast was not included. when we went to close the door after first entering our room, the door handle fell off. the hotel was renovating at the time. The hotel was actually giving people rooms on the same floor as the reservations, which meant there was dust and plaster all over the hallway floor. when we asked if we could get our momney back ther refused but told us we could change rooms. we did this and got a room on the top floor which had already been renovated. this room was 100 times better. It was the same size but perfectly clean. however i would not risk booking this hotel with the odd chance that you will get a new renovated room. also by the state of the older rooms, the hotel obviously does not maintain their rooms to an adequate standard, so im sure the new rooms will look horrible in a few months time. it seems a lot o f hotels in amsterdam are pretty dirty. if you're not going during peak season, don't book a hotel, just turn up and find the cleanest one while you're there.

This is quite a rough and ready place. The room was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. But it was cheap and close to the attractions.

The room was nothing like the picture, there were bed sheets over the window, the plaster was craked and coming down and the beds were lying on the floor. It looked like they need another room so they cleared out an old storage closet.

This is the worst hotel anyone could ever stay in. The toilet was smaller than an airplane toilet (no, really) and there was no elevator for this four floor piece of @#$%. I'm not kidding. The following is what we faced: - Payment on arrival (because if you see the room, there is no way you are going to take it) - 5% extra if you pay by credit card - No elevator of any kind for this property that has four floors. It is actually a warehouse converted into a hotel. - They require a deposit of 25 euros for a TV remote. - If you are given a room in the fourth floor, you have to go one floor down for a shower. - Restrooms were smaller than their airplane toilets. They stay at this place was the worst we have ever had.

The lobby is really nice but very decieving. Our room was the size of a closet. And you could hear everything that was going on on our floor. They keep our key at the front desk when you leave, which was a little wierd to me. The location was the best part. Right near the Train Station and all the sights are easy to walk to.

7 lads on a stag weekend in Amsterdam. We wanted a bed for two nights but, more importantly, a great location and this is what this hotel offers. It is a few minutes walk from Central Station, on a road packed with cafe's (of both kinds!), bars and shops, although it is just off centre so that there isn't the noise, hustle and bustle of the main drag. Hotel staff were very, very helpful, rooms clean and, ideally for groups, contained twin beds rather than the usual doubles found at most other hotels. Basically this is highly recommended to those that are looking for location rather than luxury and who don't mind shared bathrooms and WC's (although each room does have a sink). Very easy to find when you've been on an all dayer - we couldn't fault it!
