Good located 3-star hotel. This hotel is good for travellers and business visitors. Hotel Piet Hein is a good hotel overall. However here come a couple of weakness of it. First, I felt cold at night because of its window. Acturally, because of its window frames. The window can not stop any draught owing to its coarseness. And the room was not air-conditioned. You may have some problem if you stay here in mid-summer or winter. Nevertheless, the hotel staffs are very kind and speak English very well, and their service is very good.

Bom hotel. Limpo, novo (reformado recentemente) e bastante confortável. O vaso sanitário é um pouco alto. Bom atendimento. Internet gratuita no saguão. Excelente localização. Excelente vizinhança. Fácil acesso da Estação Central pelos tramways 2 e 5. Fiquei no último andar, não sei se nos demais o hotel é barulhento.

Piet Hein hotel is a nice, modern hotel in a quiet area across from Vondel park and close to the museums. The location is excellent, it didn't take very long to get there on the tram from Central station, and it wasn't far up to Liedesplein to all the restaurants etc. I booked a single room (to save costs) and it was small, but it was well laid out so it didn't feel too bad. My room overlooked the garden/courtyard at the back of the hotel. The furnishings & decor was clean / modern. Breakfast was good, if you can, wait for the croissants and rolls, fresh & warm from the oven. (Not too many open cafes nearby early in the morning, so you may as well eat in the hotel) There are a few internet PC's in the lobby, never a problem if you wanted to check your emails

Overall quality is quite good, although size of the room I stayed in was disappointing. In my previous visit, I was given a much bigger double room at the same rate with a bed that makes one feel like in heaven. This time even the bed was mediocre, no toiletries in the bathroom and no minibar in the room, which are definite minuses in my otherwise very positive opinion for Piet Hein.

Excellent choice for the price. Location is very good, close to the trams. 5 minute walk to Leidseplein. Clean, neat surroundings. Located in a fairly quiet area. Room was small, but that seems to be the norm in Europe. It was clean and comfortable. No issues at all. My room was on the 4th floor, so it was very quiet. Bathroom was clean. Given the price, the room met my expectations. Hotel amenities were excellent. No complaints. There are a couple of computers in the lobby with free and fast Internet access. Overall, I was very satisfied with the place and would definitely consider staying here again. It's a great value for money, and very comfortable.

Very nice and cozy hotel located in quiet street along wondeful Vondelpark with short walking distance to everything (museums, canal boats/bus, shopping and restaurants/bars). Very chic & elegant interior with nice breakfast room and a wonderful quiet outside garden where one could enjoy breakfast. The breakfast buffet was nice and the coffee excellent! Internet access was nice in the lobby area next to a charming small bar with very good drinks....try the campari w/fresh orange juice! Helpfull and service minded staff, only minor complaint: had ordered wine/fruit basket in the room upon arrival (surprise for my housband) but no such basket when we arrived. We used Connexxion bus from airport to hotel entrance (13 Euro/person one way) and taxi from hotel to airport (37 Euro). Charming town and we'll definitely use this hotel again for our next Amsterdam trip!

exceptionally well-located, intimate hotel with loads of great shopping, restaurants, museums and trams all within short walking distance. Very professional, friendly and helpful staff. The only issue that arose was that housekeeping had left our door open all day one day, though fortunately nothing was missing. We would definitely stay here again. We've also been consistently happy with Venere.com recommendations.

I stayed in a single room, that was the size of a cupboard. However, it was very recently renovated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very modern and appliances brand new. Some rooms are in the basement and are not great - there's not much air circulation and smoke from the lounge filters in at night, which is a problem. It is impossible to leave the window open on the ground level for safety reasons. The upstairs rooms are wonderful with very high ceilings, fresh air, flat screen TVs and brand new bathrooms. There are a bunch of computers in the lounge with high speed internet that are for everyone to use. Hotel is on a very quiet side street next to a park, which I heard could be a safety concern, otherwise the location is excellent. It is within a 2 minute walk from the Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum. The nearest tram stop is a 2 minute walk away and it would take about 30 min to walk to the Centraal Station (10 minutes by tram).

good location, next to Vondel Park, close to Leidse Plein (5min) and Museums (10min to Van Gogh). Red light district about 30 minutes walk. As with most other hotels in the centre of Amsterdam, there is no parking which adds another 20-30 euro per day. nice lounge, straight forward staff, comfortable room like on the picture, not too large.

Great hotel, particularly for the price. Nice rooms, good location fairly close to Leidsplien. The only minor negative points we found were that the room was very cold when we had been gone for the whole day. When we questioned this we were told that the Heating "switches off automatically". Not really a great answer when its cold outside! The other point was that we got drinks from the bar and brought them to the room, but the empties were left in the room for a few days. HOWEVER - these were minor things and we found the hotel to be great overall, and would definitely return.

Very good cost performance, though the room (single business room) was quite compact - in that sense, quite nautical. The public spaces are quite stylish actually. Location is good, across from the park and one block from a very posh shopping area.

The Piet Hein was a wonderful place to stay. The breakfast was bountiful and the service at the small and cozy hotel bar was excellent. The rooms were small (by American standards) but more than adequate. The wireless internet to the rooms could be improved but there were ample stations for use otherwise. The location was right around the corner from the Van Gough Museum and just a few minutes ride from the central station. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel. I enjoyed the lobby with comfortable bar and areas for free internet access. Hotel location is good for both museums as well as walking to Liedesplein. We enjoyed our stay, the property is beautiful, much more welcoming than a major chain hotel. The staff were friendly and they had a lovely bar/lounge area where you could access the internet which is very handy when you are traveling. It was a little noisy, and unfortunately there was a fire drill in the middle of the night that woke us up.....this was apparently due to one of the guests smoking in their room. Whilst I understand that there is not alot the hotel can do about it, I think it would be a good idea to offer your guests a complimentary drink or breakfast where a major disruption occurs (fire trucks turned up etc). Appart from that, the hotel is in a fantastic location, the staff are friendly, the ammenities good and I would stay there again.

LA HABITACIÓN ESTABA BIEN AUNQUE ESTABAN DE OBRAS PERO ME PARECE PRECIO EXCESIVO PARA LA RELACIÓN CALIDAD-PRECIO PUES ESTÁ EN EL "BARRIO SALAMANCA" DE AMSTERDAM (DETRÁS ESTÁN TODAS LAS FIRMAS DE ROPA). LO PEOR EL RUIDO DE LAS DUCHAS Y CADENAS DE OTROS BAÑOS CONTIGUOS. SOLO POR ESO, NO SÉ SI REPETIRÍA. DE TODOS MODOS, SEGURAMENTE, NO HAY MUCHAS OFERTAS MEJORES NI MÁS CERCA NI CON MÁS CALIDAD, POR LO QUE HE VISTO ALLÍ.

The apt. was so clean you could eat off of the floor. There were only a few problems: the Apt. was 6 floors up without an elevator and we had 3 large suitcases to carry up and down. The table was too small for 4 people and the master bed matress was a little old and soft. Other then that the cooking facilities were great and we saved a lot of money making breakfast and dinner there. The U-bahn station was only a block away as was the grocery store. I would recommend this apt. to a couple or small family since there is only one small real bedroom and some mattresses for the livingroom floor. The decor was so modern and cute!

We arrived at Amsterdam 7am and the hotel was so kind to have offered an early check-in. So we can take a quick nap and shower before heading out (as the flight from HK to Ams was over 10 hours). The free Wi-Fi connection at the hotel lobby was excellent, really at no cost. If the access can also be made to the rooms, that would be fantastic. (cos we failed to do it in the room upstairs, guess the hotel blocked the access to rooms). The lift was small, but big enough to fit in two large suitcases and the two of us. We had the room with a little terrace, so that's cool! The receptionists are nice and speak good english and are helpful. The beer at the lobby lounge was cheap and fresh. Though the room was small, it was already better that what I thought. The neighborhood was great, right besides Vondel Park, quiet but clost to the high-fashion shopping street. The only improvement would be the light. The room was kind of dark even with all the lights on. The Bagel cafe, "Bagel & Beans", nearby was a GREAT place for fresh hot breakfast. And the over-100-year-old restaurant besides the opera house, "Keyners" (something like that,) serves proper and great dishes. It's also near the hotel. Also have a lunch at the "American Cafe". Take the "Connexxion" shuttle bus from the airport and it'll take you to the door of Piet Hein. I would definitely stay at Piet Hein for my next visit.

We had a lovely stay and the hotel and staff were very welcoming and helpful in all aspects of our stay. The room was very clean. The only comment we had was that we arrived in Amsterdam during a heatwave (for real) and our room was one of the older ones and did not have air conditioning which would have helped. The location was also terrific, away from crazy city centre. We would definately stay there again and refer our friends. Wireless connectivity only available in the lobby and the newer rooms so make sure you ask for a wireless room if that is important to you.

Highly recommended! This hotel has been refurbished to a high standard with a lovely, modern, calm feel - the lounge/bar/foyer is particularly beautiful. The only thing I would suggest was poor is the breakfast, fine if it is included in your price but I would avoid paying the 10 euros for it separately - a very expensive bowl of cornflakes + toast! There is a huge choice of restaurants within a short walking distance and access to the canals just a few minutes away.

Good location, lovely hotel, great value, but our visit was marred by a few problems: - tram running right outside our window was very loud--kept me awake - housekeeper walked into room while we were inside and violated our privacy. She knocked first, but didn't hear us yell that we were inside. - we asked for a wake-up call which never came. Room did not have alarm clock, so we woke up late and almost missed our train.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Excellent boutique style hotel. Freindly and helpful staff and a great location in a quiet road but just 5 mins to the canal boats, museums, bars and shops. I would recommend this hotel highly. Only negative was the 2 loft rooms do not have wardrobes.(our freinds stayed in one of them)

Luckily, we got a great rate on the room. It is a very nice hotel and it is located blocks from the Heineken brewery and tram connections. The staff was very courteous and spoke very good English. Also, the included breakfast had great variety for a European breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting A-Dam - I'll definitely try to stay there again next time!

a real bargain in amsterdam. well located (a bit far from the street cars because it is in between two stops). staff very friendly, room was small but quiet and all in all, real value for a pleasant stay in amsterdam, oh, and it is perfect for the museums!

This hotel is well priced for Amsterdam, and in a good part of town. Rooms are not luxurious, but are tidy and clean. Is just a little outside the main centre, but only a 2 minute tram ride or a 15 minute walk. Plenty of choice of restaurants nearby as well.

Excellent location, clean and pretty rooms but a little bit small. If I will go to Amsterdam again, I will stay in Piet Hein.

Wonderful ambience. Very quiet rooms. Beautiful outdoor courtyard for relaxing. Internet service. Fun but quiet cocktail bar in lovely decorated lobby. Great breakfasts. Staff always amenable to our needs. Walking distance to everything. Best hotel we stayed at during our three weeks in Europe. I would recommend Piet Hein to anyone so stop your search and book now.

Only good feelings about this hotel (Sorry, i can't write in english very well). Hotel Piet Hein is located in the Musea area. Walking, you are in Leidseplein in 5 minutes. There are tram stops close to the hotel. So, it is not located in the center, but very close to it. We moved by feet almost every day. The surroundings are very quiet. Our room was small, but clean and pretty. Just the views were not too good: a brick wall in front of our window. But that didn't bother us too much. The room was next to the reception desk, but there were no noises. We were there in february, for three nights, and the heating was 24 h on. The staff was very kind. The lamp on the ceiling went off one morning, and it was repaired that same day. Breakfast was included in the price. The breakfast room was really nice, and breakfast itself (self-service) was really good. Price was a little too expensive (85 EUR) but not for Amsterdam: hotel prices in Amsterdam are really in the top side.

The hotel is ideal for both personal and business breaks. Obviously as such there is a mix of clientel attracted to the hotel. This seemed to keep the atmosphere and behavior of the staff relaxed and yet very professional. They did not force themselves upon you however were more than happy t help in any way they could. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern with good shower and bath. the location is on a quiet street overlooking the vondel park and distance to rijkmuseum and the the van Gogh museum being about 500metres. there is a tram very nearby however the centre of Amsterdam is walkable.
