quite expensive for the room but this was probably due to the holland vs scotland game on at the same time. what i wanted very close to city centre, nightlife and central station.

The staff was very helpful. The room was more spacious than I had expected, as was the bathroom. I would likely stay there again on my next trip to Amsterdam and would highly recommend the hotel to my friends and family.

The staff were not very friendly or welcoming and seemed suspicious of us because we were obviously not business clientelle. The quality of room received for money spent was not good value. The room was consistently noisy at night. On the last day we were woken up at 8:30am by the (very loud) window cleaners.

Very nice hotel with an exceptional lunch type restaurant. The only negative comment is that we were unable to get into the main (Michelin starred) restaurant as it was full. Note book in advance!

This hotel was within walking distance from the train station and all of the major sights. It sits on a corner with some great pubs and restuarants nearby and with the windows closed is very quiet. Our room was very large and had a great number of amenities including numerous bathroom products. The bath was also very large and bright. The hotel had a great bar and breakfast. The hotel also accommodated an early check-in, service to the airport and had a great concierge staff.

A really nice hotel but a bit expensive (we do think that the hotel shouldn't charge extra for using the gym). We wouldn't mind to stay there again though.

It´s not worth it to pay this 5* hotel, Rooms the room was not very clean. Many noises in the morning. The only good thing is the location.

Booked a double room on-line. After checking in we went to our room and it was a twin room. Went back to reception and got the room changed to a double room. When we went to the next room on the second floor, the room was alot smaller. Had to walk down a flight of stairs to the bedroom. The room was also just above a bar across the lane. At that time the bar was nearly empty and was noisy. Glad I didn't have to hear it at night. Went back to reception again to get another room and was upgraded. The room was very good apart from the heating which didn't work. The hotel staff did put another heater in the room which was fine. This hotel is viewed as a 5 star hotel, however after staying there I would disagree with the 5 star status. I would say 3 Star is more appropriate. Breakfast area was cramped with people bumping into each other (including the staff) around the buffet. The choice of breakfast was limited. The staff at the hotel were very good. Having been to Amsterdam many times before it didn't put us off having a good time. The next time I would stay at another hotel.

Excellent location and price as quoted on-line.Rooms good size and comfy beds. Only price of breakfast 25 euros each was a bit steep so had to eat out each day.Would stay here again due to location near good bars and restaurants.

For Eur129 per night, was expecting a fairly small room, especially as the hotel was so central (1 minute walk from Central Station)- instead it was a suite on two levels, champagne on ice greeted us, and it was so good we thought there must have been a mistake! Excellent hotel, exceptional value - highly recommended...

My husband and I are planning to have children next year, and wanted to travel europe before having kids. We ended our 2 week trip in Amsterdam. This was the most beautiful hotel we saw in the area. Great location. Walking distance to everything, coffeeshops, shopping, restaurants, red light district. We are planning another trip after the baby and we will come back to this hotel.

Very nice hotel, but you need to be aware of where you are....on the border of the red light. If you aren't comfortable with that, and what that "brings" in the PM, don't stay in the area.
