Hotel Misc Eatdrinksleep - Amsterdam

We had a wonderful experience in Amsterdam. We were welcomed by Rachel, who helped us tremendously. She actually told us that tomorrow was a special museum night and we should stay one more night in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, there was no more rooms in her hotel the next day. So, she searched the Internet immediately and found another great hotel for us. It saved us a lot of time and she knew that it was a good hotel as well. They really gone the extra mile to make their guest feel right at home. Great location, free Wifi, yummy breakfast. We were very happy customers. We highly recommend this hotel!

Great stay, this is my third trip to Amsterdam. My son and I visited for two days and at the last minute booked a stay. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Room was an upper canal side and was neat, clean and well provisioned. Noise was not an issue during this stay which was a Friday night. Great location close to the Metro (Nieuwmarkt Station) for those who use the Park and Ride system. Great home cooked breakfast was provided and cooked to order. Wireless internet available with a fast connection. I would certainly stay again without hesitation and I highly recommend the Misc Eatdrinksleep to others who would like to stay very close to close to but not exactly inside the Red Light District during an Amsterdam stay.

My 12-year-old daughter and I stayed for two nights in the Retro-room right before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit cold because of the snow storm, but no more than what could be expected. Overall we had a good time in Amsterdam and enjoyed the hotel being located within walking distance from museums, shops and the train station. Would definitely love to return. Thank you!

Lovely rather romantic hotel

We read many excelent reviews on this hotel and chose it based on them. Somehow, I do not feel these reviews were compatible with what we saw. This hotel is situated at the edge of the Red Light District and near an Asian neighborhood. Althouh I did not feel unsafe there, that was certainly not a quiet place, with people partying until late morning every day; noise could be heard even with the windows closed and the help of a noise disguiser provided by the hotel itself. The neighborhood is poorly kept and unclean. From the infrastructure perspective, possibly the worse thing was the absence of air conditioning (only a ceiling vent), which is a major problem during summer time (as far as you can not open the windows due to the street noise). The hole building would deserve a full restauration. This was the first time that we chose a place with so many reviews and got disappointed (will have to pay more attention to details next time...).
