It's not properly a Hotel, assume it is a room rental with breakfast service. All good except the rooms are very small, good for one person, but there's a lack of space when you're two people.

We are not attached to our comfort but the price we've paid for this room was totally out of proportion when you see the service they provide. Our room and bathroom weren't cleaned. Their idea of cleaning is just putting new towels on your bed. Without even making it! The Shower is a nightmare with moistures everywhere. Walls are without any noise insulation. The level of price (109 €) they are practicing is not adapted, it's the badest price quality I've ever seen.

Owners were nice and warm people. we had nice conversations. in the map hotels location looks soo far from centre but believe me it is in really good location.there is a supermarket next to hotel and an open market which is very nice end of street. we was nice to explore places while going to the centre. we only had problem about tv. we couldn't watch english channels. I think only our tv was like this. everything was enough good. if you don't except superduper service like five star hotels , Hotel Max is quite nice hotel to stay, we liked owners and ambiance.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and another couple also leaving after a 4 day stay agreed never to recommend too. Easily found and around 25 minutes walk from Centraal Station or route 4 on the trams. Hotel was more like a Motel, Rooms not ready and very small, reception staffing would not be responsible for old bed linen sitting outside a room for several hours. When an obvservation was pointed out about the room I was aked to leave and find other accomodation if I wasn't happy! Breakfast was toast, Cheese and meat and cereals and juice. Date of stay was 15th October 2010.

Cons: * Wireless connection is not free but costs 6 euro/hour!!! * I was staying from Monday till Sunday and rooms has been cleaned only on Thursday and Wednesday. * No elevator for last floor. Pros: * With access card you can access hotel whenever you want * It's in front of supermarket (lidl) and near tram stations.

Small room was ok, but the extremly small bathroom not. Black dots on the walls and near the shower. Disgusting shower-curtain. Very poor breakfast.

At 150. Euro per night I expected a double bed not co-op style. The bathroom had a bad smell to it. I had to use the same towles everday as they were not changed. Also made my own bed. I had to walk up 74 stairs each time (I was there of 3 days) This is alot of stairs. If it were in the 60 to 90 Euro range, I believe this hotel would be more attractive.

We were in Amsterdam during 4 days and nobody cleaned our room in all of these days. Either, changed our towels. The bathroom was very small and very dirty as well. We will never come back to this hotel. Regards.

Very Good stay for 2 nights in Amsterdam. Althought the reception boy tried as soon as we arrived to obliged us to pay (again!) and he naturally prefered cash... But we had allready paid by visa on the net. But, according to him, the card number wasn't good, wich was wrong. Then one of the boss came, and everything get clean. But a young couple get arrived before us, also get money problem with this fucking reception boy... be carefull to say "no" to everything he ask if you see him and if he's not allready fired...

Max Hotel really is the most basic and simple hotel I have seen in my life! Well, expectations were low at that price, but the rooms offered just as much space as to contain a bed and a tiny bathroom. The overall state of the room was ok, I would have appreciated nicer sanitary equipment. But it s alright, when you re staying only a couple of days in Amsterdam as you don t spend much time in the hotel. Payment by debit or credit card was not available because the receptionist was unable to use the machine! They charged 36 Euros per day for a parking lot instead of 18 Euros as had been mentionded on venere.com. So, parking the car would have been more expensive than our room fee! I can only recommend parking your car at the Olympic stadium which is a short drive from the hotel. They charge incredible 6 Euros per day and offer you a day ticket to the public transportation!

Not recommended. Despite general conditions of contract they tried to charge my credit card in advance (5 days before arrival). I contacted them, but they stubbornly refused to wait, and finally also refused my offer to pay in advance anyhow, cancelling my reservation three days before I had to arrive. Avoid it.

The breakfast dead line is really up to 10:00 am. The first day we arrived at 10:05 and we facee a refusal. I was obliged to enter by force in the dinning room only to take a coffe to wake up me. (futhermore for not good coffee). the guy in the room was really in a bad mood.

We only needed somewhere to sleep while we explored Amsterdam, so Hotel Max suited us. We thought we booked a double bed, but had two singles. Not flash, but it was what we paid for and were expecting. Thanks.

Two things The price cashed was not right. They cashed a 5% in addition for "Amserdam tax"(???) that was not informed when we reserve the room and if you pay by credit card the charge you in addition another 5% (???)

Room was extremely small, uncomfortable and very different from the one described on the website. The hotel debited the total amount from our credit card 20 days before our arrival in spite of the possibility (stated by the website) of canceling after that date.

When we arrived we were told that although we reserved a room in the main hotel our room would be in the "annex" across the canal and down a side street. Our room was VERY basic. An extra bed had evidently been crammed inside making the room even smaller than it would have been. And not exactly clean, either. We were told it was a non-smoking hotel but our room reeked of cigarettes. The "no drugs" sign on the room wall should have been a clue as to the quality of the establishment. Breakfast was meager. If it had been for more than one night we would have changed hotels. Can't really recommend.

The location is fine and easy for public transport. There are taxes they add to the room that are not listed on the website and also internet is not provided even though it kind of leads you to believe that on the site. The rooms were not incredibly clean and the shower filled up every time we used it. You really get what you pay for here and you are paying for a cheap room in Amsterdam.

Very very thin walls. We were getting to the hotel quite late, and couldn't sleep after 8:00. The staff was friendly, but didn't know about the Venere discount. The location is OK, but you still need a tram to get to the center. The room was very small, though very clean. Looking back, I would've paid extra 10e for a quieter or more central location.

Hotel Max turned out to be really small, we were not ready to such a small room (room on the photo seemed to be bigger than in reality). If you ready to small spaces and 25 minutes walking to Central Station (city center) welcome to Hotel Max.

The space is VERY small, but clean and simple - precisely what we needed for our trip. The cost is very affordable, given how expensive Amsterdam is. Do note, that the property is on the south side of town - takes about a 15/20 minute bike ride. Not too bad though.

This Hotel is fine if you don't care at all about where you stay. Could have found a better hotel for the same price. The only good thing was it was in an nice area of amsterdam and the tram was very close.

This Hotel is too expensive regarding the poor quality of services and cleanlyness. Moreover, there is a big problem in the bathroom which is in the same place of WC and the water floods quickly all the bathroom. No quietness : you hear all is hapening in the room of your neighbours. Hopefully, we went to Amsterdam to walk and visit the city (which is quieter than the hotel). I advise families not to book room in this hotel. One more imortant thing : the hotel doesn't have the same rules of Venere. Your credit card is not debited at the end of your staying (as specified on Venere website) but 21 days before you come to the hotel. Be carefull when you book the room !!!

Extremely small room, but serviceable. Good quiet location. The deposit and forms for the room key and the TV remote made you feel like you were checking into jail. Hotel is very close to outdoor market at Albert Cuyperstraat and it is easy to walk to Centro but your still in a quiet neighborhood.

Hotel was fine considering price, very basic but everything was clean and in working order. Only complaint I would have is that despite booking a double room, our room was actually a twin room, though this seems to be the case alot in european cities.
