Hotel Linda - Amsterdam

Much noïse from the street, the windows are not quite good.

We staid two nights. Arrived at night 1 o'clock, the room we were given was in the underground with a view on the parking. It smelt very bad (close to the kitchen an toilets) and was humid. On the top of that , the staff room was just next door and we have been awaken at 6 o'clock in the morning. This is room n° 503 : A nightmare ! But when asked next day to change room, that have been done without any problem and room n° 303 was much better : correct.

This hotel has had some bad reviews and we were a little concerned at what we would find. The hotel has recently had a make over and is clean and comfortable. Bathrooms have new fittings (at least ours did0. Breakfast area is a little small but is clean and fit for purpose. The staff in the breakfast room are not helpful and can be rude at times. The staff at the desk are very welcoming and helpful. We asked for a ground floor room and were given the one nearest the entrance, big mistake as there were plenty of noisy guests coming and going at all hours of the night. Handy for the tram stop across the road and not too far out of town, but you need to use the public transport system which is excellent. Breakfast is basics of cereals, bread, meat and cheese. Scrambled eggs every day no variety.

Very rude staff!!! No guests, No food (snacks) allowed in rooms. Very small and over priced. Very noisy, anyone moves you will hear it! Will not return. Vending machine (over priced) when there is no eating in rooms. Customer service does not exist at this hotel!
