I was glad that I`ve chosen this hotel. Staff is freandly and helpful. Good location: there were no information on the web about the train number to take. It is 2 or 5 train; 15 minutes max from Central railway station. If to walk, it might take half an hour or more. Quiet district, 3 minutes walk from Rijk museum, 5 - from Van Gog museum. Sound isolation is not complete, voices of other people talking could be heard, but not in details:) Elevators available for those who would like to avoid A`dam`s abrapt stairs.

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Aalders and were overall happy with the accommodations and service received. The room was a bit small, but not so bad really. The bed could have been a bit firmer, but having said that, I slept well all three nights. Bathroom small but more than adequate. The location near the Museumplein and Leidseplein was excellent and very convenient, and the #2 and #5 tram were about 2 blocks from the hotel. As compared to much of the rest of Amsterdam there was very little bicycle traffic on the street the hotel is on. The breakfast was plentiful and good with breads, meats, cheeses and hardboiled eggs for those with bigger appetites, and sweet things for those who prefer that sort of breakfast... and of course coffee and tea, juice, milk, etc. Overall it was a very good stay in Amsterdam at Hotel Aalders and I do recommend it, and would more than likely stay there again if the price stays competitive. The service was friendly but not as intimate as, say, a B&B, but it was certainly better than just good enough.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was large because it was set up to accommodate 4 people. It was the only room available for the dates I requested which is why I had such a large room for just one person. No discount was given. One bed was removed allowing for more space in which to move around. It would have been a close fit if 4 people were staying in the room; however, that is probably the standard. The neighborhood was quite lovely with museums and restaurants close by. This was my first trip to Amsterdam. If I went again, I would possibly try to experiment with another hotel but would have no problem staying at the Aalders again. It was very pleasant there.

Hotel Aalders is on a relatively quiet street in a busy city. Museums, parks, and other Amsterdam attractions are all close and easy to get to. We found the room clean and inviting. The bathroom was spacious and spotless. Staff were very helpful with restaurant and transportation suggestions. All in all a very satisfactory stay for us.

Lovely hotel in great neighborhood. Staff was very helpful in assisting us with dinner suggestions and transportation advice. Very easy to get around the city, safe for walks in the evening. We stayed in a "family" room, two double beds, as the room was shared with my husband and sister. Our ground floor room had doors that opened to the yard in back, which was a nice feature. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Aalders again.

Highly recommended. Friendly and knowledgeable staff; nice rooms, excellent location, reasonable price. The only thing I didn´t like is that rooms have carpets, but it is more a personal taste, I guess.

This hotel is probably in the best area of town. The location is within a few steps of Van Gogh Museum and locally transport stops (Trams, Buses and Canal Buses). Very safe area to walk at night. Hotel staff are excellent as is the breakfast and bar facilities. Prices for rooms are realative to the the quality and less than other hotels of similar standard. Cycle hire is available from the hotel and are good quality with Insurance. In our opinion we would definately stay here again and thoroughly recommend this to family and friends.

My room was a bit small (and the television not really smartly oriented...) but the hotel is ideally located, in a quiet area (Museumplein) but also very close to Leidse Plein, the heart of entertainment im Amsterdam. Staff is nice and service is satisfactory. I would say this is a good ratio quality/price.
