Eden Hotel has been one of my favorite places in my many visits to Amsterdam. The location is about as good as you can get with walking distance to most places of interest. One of the hotels attributes that I admire most is the old "Amsterdam" style architecture. I am very fond of the old style structures and staying in one of them is a treat for me. Just because it is old on the exterior does not mean an outdated interior. The lobby and the room furnishings were tastefully done. I made the mistake of booking a standard room on my last visit and found the room extremely small with barely enough room to change my mind. I immediately returned to the reception and upgraded to a superior room which has plenty of space. The beds are soft and comfortable with clean sheets. I will stay here again on my next trip.

We reserved two rooms very early at very low cost (32€50 each person). For such a price I expected very low quality. My surprise was huge when I saw the rooms, with charming decoration, waterboiler for tea or coffee, a real bath, hairdryer and ... view on the Amstelchannel! A dreamlike journey! Thanks!

Good choice. I enjoyed my stay a lot. And yes, it's true, breakfast is really sparse. There are a lot of great places to have breakfast close by. I'd recommend going there. Location, view and value for money is hard to beat.

Room was fine, newly refurbished, but view was of a brick wall maybe five feet away. That's the chance you take with discounted rooms, though. The first room offering is always on a lower floor, always near a lift (noisy), and always sans view. The young lady at the reception desk pretended (poorly) not to know that the room was next to the lift. It was fine for one night. Location was very good.

I thought this hotel exceeded my expectations. I was expecting a quiet small space and we were given an apartment overlooking the canal with planty of space and additional amenities. I would definitely reccommend them to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

A comfortable hotel with friendly staff, rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Unfortunately we were disturbed every night until 4.00 in the morning by people returning home from night clubs but maybe we should expect that in the city. Although we thought the price of the rooms was reasonable, the price of breakfast and very high cost of car parking almost doubled our expenses. If we return to Amsterdam we would stay further out where we can park at the hotel and use the excellent public transport to get in to the city.

When I made the booking I requested a twin room, on arrival we were given a very small, dark, double room. After speaking to the reception he eventually found us a twin room which was a big improvement on the first room. When we arrived, we were given no information about the hotel, location, places to visit, breakfast etc. There was no tea/coffee facilties in the room and when we mentioned this on leaving, we were told, we should have asked??? On leaving there were 5 members of staff behind the desk, chatting between themselves, for a full 5 minutes, it was not until I asked if we were invisable did anyone deal with us. There was a dark haired, slim gentleman who was very rude and short when we spoke to him. Overall I would not stay there again, although it is in a great area, some of the staff could do with a course in good customer service.

On arrival, the staff could not find any record of my CONFIRMED reservation. This took far too long to sort out. Also, I was charged an additional E3.25 City Tax and E16 breakfast although I was quoted a "total price" of E69. The check-in staff didnt know where the Arena is, and sent me in the wrong direction causing me to miss part of a concert. However it is a good hotel, well located on the river and very near lots of restaurants/bars etc. I would stay there again.
