As the hotel was overbooked we were send to a B+B near by. Lovely people, big space, super located. Someone else could feel it is not anonymous enough. The shower room is extremly small.

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and carried our suitcase up the very steep and narrow staircase. We were disappointed that our room was not overlooking the canal but thought it would be quieter at the back. However, there was building work going on in another building and the workmen started bashing about at 8am. The room was good but the bathroom was very small. A wet room which the water from the shower cascaded down onto the toilet. Breakfast was excellent.

Ideally situated on canalside, close to public transport. Possibly unsuitable for less mobile people due to steep and narrow stairs. Pleasantly quiet as apparently less than fully booked in early March. Breakfast taken in pleasant, bright room and entirely adequate with fresh bread, fruit and ability to cook scrambled/boiled egg to order. I suggest avoid annexe,if at all possible,as situated away from main building,on a busy road with trams passing the single glazed windows. Very friendly housecat in residence but -not everyone likes cats !! With these reservations, highly recommended.

We had an excellent stay. We met Eric and Anna who run the place who were both very friendly and accommodating. We are on our honeymoon and had no plans whatsoever in Amsterdam. It was so hard to book accommodation there was nearly nothing available so we were unsure of what we had booked - couldn't have been happier with what we ended up with! The atmosphere of the hotel was very family oriented and warm, the hosts called out and said hello every time we saw them. We would go to a big effort to book the same place again.

The small rooms are indeed VERY small - we almost could not move in the room without hitting a wall or the bed. The bed was a bit small as well - unless you like to snuggle up to the person you're lying next to. The room was quite dusty. The size of the bathroom was ok, however it was impossible to take a shower without flooding the whole bathroom. We didn't try the breakfast but the pancakes smelled delicious.

quaint hotel, very excellent room design. no temperature control to drown out the incessant street noise. we were on the ground floor, so you either sweat with closed windows and muffled the noise or sweat a little less with open windows and louder street noise

We would, and have already, recommend this hotel to anyone. The service was excellent and the location is great, near to Leidesplein, Vondelpark and the museums. Excellent, thoughtful service - very pleased.

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and all the staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Our cases were carried to our room (on the top floor) without hesitation, our room was clean and tidy and bigger than expected, and had a good amount of storage / shelf space. There was plenty of room for two suitcases and two people! I think the few reviews about some rooms being too small may come from people used to staying in corporate or American hotels, which tend to be much more roomy than European hotels. There was free wi-fi for as many devices as you needed, which was a nice surprise, especially compared with the corporate hotel we also stayed at where access cost 27 euros per day! The building was clean and tidy and breakfast smelled great. However, we chose to buy food from town instead as it was so close. The hotel is in an excellent location - the only downsides for some people were that the double room had twin beds pushed together (they did move apart during the night!) and you can hear some noise from the low-flying aircraft overhead. I am a light sleeper and had packed earplugs just in case, so I slept totally fine (as did my partner, who slept perfectly well without them). However, seeing as the planes fly so low over the whole of Amsterdam, I expect the noise can be heard from many hotels. Overall, this was a lovely place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. I would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel and service. However next time I would go for larger room and not on the ground floor. It was a bit noisy in the morning. The overall feedback is positive.

Natalie was a superstar at the front desk. The others were not particularly friendly or helpful, especially with heavy bags on narrow, steep stairs with no elevators. Natalie hauled bags for us when we arrived. The others watched us from the front desk as we struggled to get bags down at departure. Was charged about 25 euros more than quoted but didn't realize this until returning home. It wasn't clear online that breakfast wasn't included. The location is very good. The rooms are super small but clean and charming. I would stay there again, maybe not on the top floor.

I stayed 3 nights at the "Boutique Hotel View Amsterdam". Great hotel and staff! They upgraded my room without further costs, the room was spacious and very clean (it's a smoke free hotel so the rooms don't smell like an ashtray). The position of the Boutique Amsterdam is also great: in the very heart of Amsterdam, a walking distance to most of the hotspots (if you are a good walker as I am, I'd say a walking distance to all the main points).

Great setting, 10min walk to the main areas. Great surrounding areas too. Our room was very nice, but TINY! - We did know this in advance as we booked the Small Double Room. But it is very, very small. Still very nice and tidy. But we couldn't turn around in it. The other rooms looks great through! Would stay here again. Even in the small room.

I can highly recommend this hotel. It is a very special and unusual find as it has the decor and charm of a four star hotel for the price of a two star! Our double canal room was on the small side whereas our boys' triple room was very spacious.Very good position too as everything was within walking distance. The owner is very hands-on and made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. A lovely stay in a lovely city!

This is a lovely hotel run by great people. I was there with my wife and our room was very beautiful with excellent view of the canal. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I'll surely stay at the hotel again on my next visit to Amsterdam.

The Botique Hotel View was great. The staff was multi-lingual, exceptionally nice and very accommodating. The "small canal view" room that we had was indeed small, but a great deal for the price. The attached private bathroom was large by european standards. The view was great too. The hotel was beautiful and an all-around terrific value. If you are concerned about room size, then go for the upgrade.
