We had a nice stay at the Hotel Avenue. At the arrival we were assigned a small triple room and I complained about it. The staff was very kind and assigned us a larger room at the second floor. The room was spacious, but poorly furnished and a bit noisy. The location of the Hotel is very convenient to visit Amsterdam, being at a walking distance from the Dam square.

quaint restoration of several oldtime Amsterdam buildings. Interior has limited character beyond the lobby. Breakfast simply but adequate. Room on 4th floor on side street had lovely large windows, a juliette balcony and open city views. free but unsecured internet access (secured would be preferable). Location is excellent for trams, walking to many places of interest and overall this was a nice value. One breakfast provided theatre through a loud discussion between a patron and the hotel manager which would have been far more appropriate in private than in the company of half the hotel's guests in the breakfast room.

Very good location, less than 5 minutes away by foot from Central station. Excellent breakfast with a lot of choice. WIFI was ok. On the day of departure, I could leave my luggages the whole day in the locked luggage room and the reception desk also proposed me to keep my laptop safe inside their office. Very good quality/price.

Some of lighting didn't work, the room is darkness and small for 4 persons. We check out on 6 am but we must pay the Breakfast without eating, so we pay for nothing.

Everything outside of the room was good, lobby, breakfast, location, staff, etc.... The room itself was not so good. Carpet was disgusting, shower stopped up, sink stopped up, bed soft, etc... I have been traveling throughout europe in this price range and this was the first one I would not stay at again.

I booked a single room so I expected it to be small. As a single, it was larger than others I stayed in during my trip. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. As the hotel is near Amsterdam Centraal, the room was on the expensive side. The hotel has a lift, which is a big plus. Because of its location, expect street noise during the peak tourist season but the noise level is much less than at hotels nearer to Dam Square or the red light district. Breakfast selections were fine but I would have liked to have had a toaster available. This was my second stay at The Avenue Hotel and I would stay there again. It is convenient to the train station and, therefore, the airport.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the Central Station. Our three single rooms were compact but clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was superb. Unfortunately there was a major problem with noise from other guests one night and there was no one at reception to deal with it. Overall I'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for its location and value for money.

Generally Amsterdam is expensive. This Hotel was relatively good value and very close to the Central Station. Note that despite the Venere price quoted, hotels in Amsterdam will also charge you a city tax (varies from one Hotel to another) when you pay your bill. I don't rememeber exactly what I paid here, but another Amsterdam Hotel charged me 8 euro per night.

Everything Worked! Everything Clean! This is unusual for most hotels. My only issue is the design of the shower - no curb to keep the water out of the bathroom. The curb is at the entrance to the bathroom, causing toe stubbing in the middle of the night. Overall a great Value!

This was my first trip to Amsterdam...and I am so glad I chose this hotel. It was better than I had hoped it would be....cheerful, with a character of its own. My single room was bright, had just enough space and a lovely attached bath. The location (a 5-7 minute walk from Central station) was convenient. The Breakfast buffet was a treat! I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good hotel experience and will definitely go back myself!

great quadruple room with a very orignal room under the roof. Would also be great for a family with two children (old enough to climb the stairs) clean and conveniently situated hotel. Very central and close to everything but still quiet

We were three guests in one room which was spacious enough for us and also clean and quiet. The hotel was ideally situated, the breakfast was good, as were the other facilities. It took us over half an hour to check out and we were not made aware of the CityTax at any time, either through the website or on arrival at the hotel, so we had a good experience until the very end of our stay. We would recommend the hotal, with a cautious note about the City Tax.

The stay at Hotel Avenue was a very happy one, the room was very spacious (twin superior), very clean and welcoming. The staff were polite and very helpful. The breakfast provided was more than adequate with a nice choice of hot and cold options. The room provided for storing luggage after checking out was appreciated. If I had one gripe the map printed from the website was not very clear or that could be just because I'm female. Hotel Avenue is a matter of 5 minutes walk to all the bars, restaurant and shopping. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

I liked it for its convenient location to public transit, walkability to many tourist sites. The presence of a large grocery store about five blocks south and the large selection at the breakfast buffet was another plus as a value traveler who likes to optimize my time exploring a city's sites. The only drawback was small sleeping area I'm 6'2 and there was limited space to stretch and constantly hit walls during sleep.

Excellent hotel ( remember is a 3 star ), perfect location ( walking distance from train station and Dam square ) wonderful breakfast. Staff not too friendly (never say "hello" if you don't do it first) but not rude. I'll be back, but.... not seen air conditioner! What about summer time?

The Avenue was great except for noise. We were on an alley on the 2nd floor and it was prone to having a group of loud drunks come through late at night. Everthing else about the avenue was great

Was familiar with the area...it's safe (for downtown) and easy to get around to all the spots. Hotel looks MUCH better on the outside and in the lobby.....rooms are small, and a bit dated. Breakfast was GREAT ...and it was free with the room. Again...maybe, but I'll try to find something better first.

The hotel was nice but the price for a single room was quite high and I must say that the room was very small! No place to open a bag! No aircon!
